Oh my god i was in stitches laughing. One of the best moments of the show. Right up there with Artie Lange and Sal's wife's emotional friend.

Of course you're legally allowed to say you weren't fired even if you were. There's no law for that. You're not able to claim unemployment if you're fired, or tell the government that you were let go if you were fired, but nothing forces you to be honest with the public.
Brent's "explanation" of how he wasn't fired is bullshit. It is VERY common for employers to ask employees to leave. In these situations employers will OFTEN offer the terminated employee the option of a so called "voluntary" separation. Under these circumstances the employer will offer the employee a modest severance package in exchange for a release (where the employee promises not to sue). Such an agreement typically allows the employee to describe the termination as a "voluntary" resignation. The employee is allowed to use this "resignation" when applying for future jobs and the ex employer agrees that it will officially call the termination a resignation in response to future references for potential employers. This shit happens all the time. That's what happened to Brent. So even though he was forced out by Sirius, he is technically allowed to call it a voluntary resignation.

Without health insurance for his family he was basically fucked-especially in NYC where individual family health plans are through the roof. I'd be willing to bet my left nut that this is what happened to not only Brent, but to all of the people who are no longer there with no explanation of why they left. Brent's excuse here is pretty bogus in my opinion. I mean, his dream gig was to work with Howard, but now he's saying he wanted to get away from cold weather and go "back to the tropics"? Sorry, not buying it. After all of the work he did to get there and how highly he regarded the show, his lack of emotion here says it all.

I recently started listening to the Howard Stern show and aside from the great interviews he does with actors/musicians…the show is just not as fun as it used to be. There is way too much sensitivity to have to work around on the show but I under that. I do not know who this guy is but it sounds like he was definitely fired. Okay…I have just now watched the whole “Swinger” thing with his wife…anyone who shares the one they love with anyone to me is a real pos…so there maybe I too am too sensitive, lol I admit it but I draw the line with swingers.
