Nice review. I visit this lounge very often. Sometimes it is crowded, sometimes not :) The reason for the location outside of the passport control is that it also serves all the European flights and for us Europeans it means we don't have to go through passport control except when traveling to US/UK.

It would be really stupid to have the lounge after passport control because then everyone traveling to other Schengen countries would not be able to visit it.

You’re right! Someone else mentioned the lounge serves both types of passengers, so knowing that, it does make total sense that it’s before passport control.
