It looks more spacious and nicer than SFO. I really can’t wait to try in exact 2 weeks. We’ll also do rabbit-hopping lounges - inspired by you Mel. 2 weeks ago, we took the Polaris from BRU-IAD. Wasn’t impressed with their lounge or airport. We enjoyed the Polaris hard products but didn’t like their food - nothing special, especially we just flew a longer leg with SQ from SIN-BRU.

I really didn't see anything in there to complain about. In fact, my personal taste in lounges is for the ones that aren't too opulent. I prefer something a little simpler, a little less busy and more relaxed. I don't think IAD will ever make anyone's "Best Airport" list, but if the Polaris lounge looks perfectly fine for a layover if you have to connect there.

Having been to the United Polaris lounges at Chicago, SF and LA, the new Delta One lounge at JFK and the Flagship lounges at DFW and LAX, I think the AA Flagship lounge is the best hands down. Now yes, some lounge purists are right in saying, technically United has better food options. After all they have sit down dining, hard to beat that. And with the Delta One lounge it's very spacious and the cafeteria concept is very appealing. The problem with the United Polaris and Delta One lounges though is you must be travelling inter-continental business on themselves or a partner. Which is fine if you exclusively travel internationally, but what about those of us who travel primarily domestically? This is where the Flagship lounge wins hands down. I can be travelling from Chicago to LA on American or LA to Seattle on Alaska in economy and have access to that lounge with my Qantas Platinum status. Oh and the other thing, access is on departure, connection or arrival. So that flight from Chicago to LA? I get to double dip: enjoying the flagship lounge in Chicago then enjoying it again in LA before heading out. Hard to beat that!

Do the toilets have bidet on them?

Love the simple step by step approach and listing all possible miles with each airline so we can do it the same way. Great video!! Saving this to re-watch when I'm ready to use points. ❤

I always wipe everything down. You can’t rely on the cleaning team. Even if it looks clean it’s not. Use sanitizing wipes.

You are showing the A350 (Only 24 in service) the new addition to the fleet on TK. A350's are equipped with their new interior, so you cannot judge the entire TK flight by watching this. Their 777 (34 in service, i think there are several from Aeroflot which i have not flown but seen on your tube which has a new cabin intereor) and 330 (49 in service) fleet has very old antiquated cabin interior. I flew JFK-IST-JFK half dozen times in their business class including a flight last month. Bins were falling apart, seats were not functioning properly and in really bad condition. I flew on 777 and 330 on those half dozen flights. Other than than, service, F&B and the IST airport is out standing. wish they upgrade those 777's and 330's to bring that extra touch. Am i the only one who is seen this? I am talking about business class on long haul not coach.

In Al mourjan lounge, was women’s queue for shower was longer than man?or was it similar?And overall was there a lot of people to extent you felt uncomfortable?

Turkish Ailines has become my new favourite to fly home to 🇿🇦. It's a very long flight broken into two legs 14h and 8h with a 8h layover. So the flights were great with meals tasty and memorable. The layover at Istanbul International was super, if long, and allowed for shopping and leg stretching 🤭. ❤ the airline and recommended both economy and business class to anywhere.

OUCH😵‍💫 to your experience coming home! I bet this is why it wouldn't allow you to check in 24 hours before... it's because you were on the SSS, and it won't allow you to check in. Don't understand the reasoning behind you losing your business class seat? My past status was 1K with United, and I was averaging (16) international trips a year for pleasure. At least (3) trips out of the 16... I would get that SSS and wasn't allowed to check in within that 24 hr windows, even with my 1K and Global status. I only fly First/Business class but never had my seat taken away? I have moved on from United, and my status is with British Airways (Gold). I also travel only 10 international trips a year now. I am flying Iberia for the first time in a few days for a 14-day trip to Spain (Madrid, Barcelona & Canary Islands). I goggled looking for a First Class lounge in Madrid Airport but only show Business class? Like you and many others, I need to start using my Avios points and Travel Vouchers. I have 1.2 million Avios and 15 Travel Vouchers that are good through 2026. I've let about 20 vouchers expire since I wasn't using them... shame on me!! I'll look at flying / upgrade with avios pts once I return from Spain. 👊respect👊

DFW to MAD, September. Messed up the code-share tix. Lost our backpacks. Said would ship them to St. Jean Pied de Port the next day. Five days later, said they sent the bags to Toulouse for some unknown reason, and we'd have to take the 6 1/2 hour train, get the bags, stay the night, return to St. Jean the next day. Said they'd pay all expenses. Upon Toulouse arrival, were told the packs were sent to Mexico City but didn't know why. Pilgrimage canceled, returned home. AA charged upgrade. Bags arrived at our house a week later. IB paid $200 of our $1700 expenses. EVERY phone call w/ Customer Service over the episode provided information we had to depend on, but which was untrue. Yeah, this one is going to DOT arbitration. You aren't alone!

Mel, I love flying 777-300er so much, I once flew United from New Orleans to San Francisco; by connecting in Newark so I could fly on the 777-300er. Even though it was only a domestic first-class flight, I loved every second of it. I can't get over how massive those engines are. I think I would geek out if I ever got to fly Polaris on a Europe flight.

How cool. I know this happened 8 months back, but I'm watching today and I'm excited for you as you board the plane. As I'm playing around with a dream vacation to South Africa, I'm catching R/T fare from JFK to JNB in first class on Etihad for as low as $7,659 - which is still a lot of money, but 1/2 to 1/3 less that the cost of other carriers. Not able to commit now, but very excited about the opportunity when I am ...and enjoying the research called living vicariously out of the lives of those who've traveled this bird. Thanks for sharing another superb travel experience and review.

I agree… Polaris Lounges are better than the A/A Flagship Lounges. I was a United 1K for 8 years before I switched my alliance to British Airways. As a B.A. Gold (One World Emerald) status, I use the Flagship or any first class lounge available if I don’t have a B.A. first class lounge available.

one thing to remember catering from Europe is better but United meal presentation is horrible I hate everything on one try to me thats premium economy and keep in mind we pay for business class the second meal was economy class not business class its not worth to fly business with US carriers!

I really have been enjoying United. They are working towards overtaking Delta as the US's premier carrier. United is the US's flagship carrier due to the amount of international flights. Just need to get that food improved a tad and things will be great.

Very simple in Europe: You ask them to rebook you on the next flight in Business and of course the 600 € compensation for the delay. If they say no, then please in written or in front of my phone camera. Go buy another ticket in business from what ever airline and send them the invoice plus the 600 € compensation delay, if they refuse payment : lawsuit. Then they'll get to pay lawyer and court fees, Happend with the Lufthansa 18.000 € was the initial claim. They had to pay.

You get to do their job and you don't even get paid. What a shame!

it might be worthwhile to note that Air France has two layouts for their A350-900's. One of them is the one featured this this video ... this sorta 2-2-2 config, but the other layout on the a350-900 they have is a 1-2-1.

I really struggle to see how it's actually possible to have decent French fries on a plane. You can't deep fry them and microwaving them or using steam reheating just makes them disgusting. Pity you missed the lounge, because I've only heard good things about UAL Polaris lounges.
