I bought these to capture little moments with my daughter and in the first day I recorded and captured more moments than I have in months (her mother is usually the one that whips the phone out). So if you have children I think they are amazing, she wasn't distracted because I didn't have a phone in my hand that was in her face and acted completely normal and bubbly
Great 72hr review. I am loving mine! They are so great IMO. Like you said, I wasn't expecting much and btw, the AI is dope af if you really start to understand it. It's like having someone to bounce ideas off while on a walk or w/e. Try asking it about video you are working on, or tell it where you are and if it has any suggestions for a shot to take, etc. It's pretty cool and will only get better since it's not stored on the glasses but is in the cloud of Meta.
In most public settings, it is legal to record someone without their permission. However, this does not apply in situations where individuals have a reasonable expectation of privacy, such as in restrooms, dressing rooms, or private residences.
Exactly. I believe that’s why the glasses have a light on them that cannot be covered. It gives clear indication of recording to people who see you with them!
This is probably best looked at like "dashcam footage of your life" as opposed to any form of camera replacement. It's another form of wearable tech that has a camera that's "good enough" for most travel, family, and day-to-day stuff -- the stuff that matters to most people. Good for social, UGC, and I could see another purpose in journalism... Cool thoughts on this, man! Hope you and the family are doing great these days!
I have them in dusty blue and use them all the time. Someone figure out if you make your livestream private you can record for 30 minutes and just download the video as an early hack
The transitions were always sold out so I bought the regular and had the lenses replaced at Walmart with Transitions that have anti-glare. Now I can wear them everywhere without looking like the Unabomber.
@@RCodyWanner I got the high quality transitions (not Rayban branded) with all of the extras. Anti-glare, and a coating for driving in the car where transitions don’t change very well due to UV light being blocked by the windshield. If you have a prescription then you can use insurance to order them. It took me about 3-4 days to get them back, I just took my glasses in and they traced them and sent the dimensions in to be made.
I feel that I would end up filling up hard drives with a lot of regular boring life stuff. BUT I also think it's a great form factor and could be useful on a camping trip or vacation.
As a creator I make plenty of 16:9 videos. I struggle to make short form content and especially struggle to make stories/in the moment content. I think these could be a tool to improve that aspect. For the video you showed using the Ray Ban Metas, are we seeing the pictures just like you shot them and unedited or did you have to zoom in on them in post? There is no doubt that the lens is ultra wide, but it seems like the videos I've taken capture so much and not my intended stuff that is just in front of me. For example, when I shot a video of me driving, it shows part of my leg, some car ceiling including the sun visor, and the center console on my car which is the same as yours.. I was able to capture more (I feel too much) That's why I was curious if you were zooming in on the video in post or are you sitting very close to the steering wheel.
