I wonder if it was a management problem more than poor writers. Maybe they might have been so inefficient at using their budget and time that they had to limit so many of the scenes for character development and getting from plot point to plot point. So many character actions just didn't make sense because there was nothing explaining or justifying it in the show.

@@moe_bee I doubt that. It doesn't take a great director to make a good series/film. Take as an example JJ. He directed great movies in the past. And honestly, his direction in Ep. 9 was the best thing at that movie, because it felt the movie was trying to lead us somewhere. The problem was the writer that didn't realyl capture his original idea :/
Same thing here. The writers didn't really capture Leslie's original idea. Pherhaps she had visioned a story that didn't need 8 episodes to be told, and the writers tried to extend it, resulting in this pointless mess we've got. Even though the writers nessed up, I still felt like the series tried to lead us somewhere, even though, it failed

A Wookie Jedi sounds cool, too bad he was just a robot with no personality. Trinity Jedi just played the same emotionless being she did from The Matrix which made more sense there. Torbin's balding hair looked so ridiculous I wish he died a more painful death. Didn't like Yord, glad he was killed. I didn't and still dont see any character difference between May and Osha. They just feel like a generic character who should have been killed off. But Quimir... If season 2 wasn't set up as a love story with boring Osha, I would like to know more about that character.

I also think all 3 of those shows had the same problem, they were trying to be 2 shows at once and had identity issues. Boba was turned into Mando season 2.5, Kenobi had a Inquisitor spinoff bait that no one asked for, and Acolyte couldn't decide if it wanted to be a detective story, Sith origin story, or a Force mysticism story and killed off most of its cast before we could get to know them because we were too busy with flashbacks.

I thought "Disney will never let any of the characters die, Especially that young girl, They're too soft for that.."
Then this guy comes in and I'm like "WOAH DISNEY.. WOAHH!!"
And he gave that little girl the most brutal death!!!!!!~

I will admit, as much I despise this show, Qimir, along with Sol and Jecki, were definitely the coolest characters of the show.

Good choreo, but they can't be the best fights because they weren't fighting for anything.
Every other fight has decided a greater fate.

Ironic how all the male actors were the best thing out of Acolyte when it was female empowerment focus xD

I still hope they do a follow up show, but with different writers. If not recast them in Star Wars.

Same as all Disney starwars show/movies a lot of actors were good, but you can't shine if the cuts & narration are against you and dull without rythm.

They can say whatever they want. Sol and this dude were good. The rest of the cast was entitled, spoiled kids who wanted and talked big but ended up short.

I’ve said it before but if they wanted to do the acolyte right then the show should have been about sol and qimir. Osha and Mae’s boring plot line ruined the show.

So, where was all this praise when it could have made a difference. So much pointed out what was good, only AFTER the cancelation while it was ALL criticism before. Thanks.

Liked only 3 things about the show, the fights, and Manny Jacinto and Lee Jung Jae, both of them should be recast as different characters in another SW show after Acolyte is officially decanonized

I wouldn't hold my breath for Acolyte to be made not canon, totally not what Disney does (even if they might reduce direct references to the show in the future)

Oh 100%, some of the ideas and characters in Acolyte could've worked but they were sadly stuck to a sub-par series with questionable directing and writing.
