Eyup Nathan. Norway looks incredible. I know that my broad Yorkshire dialect is basically heavily accented Norwegian so maybe Toon lingo goes the same way. Bairns 'r laikin i' beck = barna leker i bekken = 'the children are playing in the stream' for example. No wonder southerners get puzzled. That was a nice warm up session - now get that halibut! I'll sithi after. Dave.
Alreet Dave, aye, there's a fair similarity between toon and Norwegian, I picked some essentials up like Home, left and right and fish. It is an incredible landscape, I think I'm hooked. Tight lines
We fished that mark years ago and it was heaving with coalfish there was an otter and a couple of mink living in the rocks stealing the coalfish but not as many codling as you caught tight lines and enjoy
Alright mate another cracking video!! Thanks! I’m going Norway in February kayaking fishing and hiking so you got me excited now!! Doubt I’ll be in shorts and T-shirt though! Do you still get out on the kayak? I miss those wild camp kayak vids you use to do!! 🤞🏻
Alright Martin, Ah it will be magical at that time of year, I love it when there's snow on the hills. I haven't been out this year due to my knacked knee. I'm missing them too, so maybe get trip out before the weather turns too bad. Enjoy Norway!!
Amazing weather in such a beautiful spot. Not sure if there are anymore videos coming but you were so close to an incredible spot where you could catch 20lb + cod every cast! I’ll let you know for next time!
I'm from Florida and when I was 17 I went to Sweden to visit an exchange student who lived with us the year before. We went to his family summer house on an island with no electricity and stayed for a week. I caught way too many cod to eat and released a lot. We are all we wanted too and they were delicious fresh. They're easy to catch. It was similar to using jigs in Florida or now in Virginia where I live and fish. I'd love to see Norway because Sweden is beautiful and the people were awesome. The midsummer's eve party was awesome and crazy. I bet it's similar in Norway. It's a beautiful but harsh part of the world, especially for a kid from Florida. I would really love to catch some of the huge halibut in Norway! I didn't know about them when I was in Sweden so I didn't try. Bummer
An off-grid cabin with loads of fish sounds ideal!! I've not been to Sweden but I gather the terrain in Norway is much bigger and steeper, I fished at the Lyngen alps and the scenery gave me goosebumps! There're always time for you to visit Norway for those giant fish! Thanks for the comment and tight lines👍🎣
Stunning, no better way to describe it. Though I did find it funny that the first thing you caught was a sea cucumber 😂. Looking forward to the following vids. Cheers
Haha, never to be repeated! As a lure angler, you'd love it out there at this time of year. The action is just franetic, and you never know when a monster might bite
A return to Norway is high on my agenda. One of, if not the most spectacular place I’ve ever been too. What general luring tips would you give as feedback from this trip? I gather soft plastics out-fished metals but I find that the case in almost all settings anyway, certainly for bigger fish! Thanks again mate.
Fantastic weather and great fishing. Interesting what you said about cod being lazy. I fished a mark in July that was a narrow and very heavy flow, like swinging Tobies for salmon in the Tay in the spring.. Fished Black Minnows hard on the bottom and there were loads of red cod. When the water went slack they would come off the bottom and could be caught right up to the surface. Interestingly, in the slacker water there were more pollock. This was in about 10m of water.
It's an conclusion I've come to from fishing at St Abbs and Eyemouth, as soon as slack hits, the cod start to take lures. I noticed this in Norway, but as you said David, they came much higher up the water column. Apparently there are meant to be no pollack as far north as we were fishing but we managed to wangle a few out, and they were much higher up than usual too, but only bit when the current was running, I blamed that on fishing in 40m from our feet.
Actually struggled more hooking a duck at the town moor this year, you nailed them. Unreal video as per mate. Keep doing your thing. Not jelous at all 🫨👊🏻
@@SlippyLimpets February wasnt great this year, but was really good last year when weather was a lot more agreeable. Very cold winter in 24. Seems to be a march/April lull in fishing before water temps get back up.
Haha, I know. I should have more sense at my old age. You'd love it, Danielle. I think the lure fishing would be right up your street, too. I'm going to head back in the winter next year
Only just managed to get to watch this nath, epic epic session, like a gym session workout, the guy to your right was using a hard bait only catching a fraction of your fish, you should of given him a jelly,he might of shut up for five minutes then and left you to catch in peace lol, can't wait for your other uploads

What a beautiful place and weather. The fishing was a bit disappointing though, all small ones. Hopefully you got to catch some big, 20lb plus cod later. I expect that it's a very expensive holiday, way above my budget. Good luck.
well done on the choice of fishing venue, gorgeous, the venue that is not you mister slippey limpets lol, good to see some fish caught and here's wishing you catch a hugemunguss halibutt lol
