- What a Session! I took a big gamble fishing during the storm at a mark I'd fished once before. The gamble paid off big style and caught a load of fish in 3.5 hours. Hope you enjoy and happy new year!

do you keep a stop watch by the bed? ta for the offer but i have enough gear to see me through two lifetimes, with a bit of luck the gear will go to anglers that need it, how many rigs do you take for a session? and you could always cut a fish you catch for bait, ive used cod guts to catch cod

Just been watching the video in Aberdeenshire great fishing a nice place for fishing is we're I do my fishing for cod and haddock go to portsoy on the coast up from Aberdeen I live in Aboyne if you go to the that place head for the pear to the left you will see the fish behind the dolphin very strong water enjoy

Thanks for your comment Allen, it's a fair point you're making. I hope this explains why I do what I do. When I started out fishing 13 years ago, I used to look at catch reports on Facebook and forums which influenced where I went fishing, but I quickly worked out that no tide/conditions combo is the same because i wasn't catching fish like in the posts. I now don't look at catch reports and don't go on facebook (apart from posting my own content). In my opinion, the biggest factor in fishing is learning where and when to fish, not rigs and bait, which can only be achieved by trial and error. So, I find most of my marks my self by trawling through navionics, admiralty charts and OS maps and head to places i think look fishy. I'll then fish them a lot and in different conditions, keep a record of each session and learn the mark. By doing this I know when to fish them, which, for me, is way more rewarding than having marks handed to me. And my catch rate has improved. I try to convey this in my vids and hope to inspire people to just go out fishing, make their own decisions and learn from them. Fishing is way more rewarding by doing this because even when I blank, I'm learning. My latest lure fishing video highlights this approach. Sorry for the long reply but it's something I feel quite strongly about. Glad you like my vids👍🎣

The locals there were a great bunch 🥰 and looked for it all, paddle were found and sent to but no sign of rest... I just have to hop to the fishing marks now 🤣 tight lines n happy new Yr to you to!

Great Video. Longbenton & Seaton Burn Sea Angling Club run 15 Catch Measure Release matches in the Tyne from March to September. The Club also runs 2 pegged beach matches one in the Winter (Sat 20th Jan 2024) and one in the Summer which are Catch Measure and Release. Club also have 15 Saturday matches on Tynemouth Pier or Roving, 15 Sunday Matches on Tynemouth Pier or Roving. 15 Winter roving matches which are not CMR. You are more than welcome to pop along for a match as a Guest. Membership is £15 per year. Membership cards for 2024 are in Billys, North Sheilds and AD Tackle Wallsend. Either tackle shop will be able to provide more information or pass on my details if you would like more information.

What do you add to your bait spoon, half way up, is it a slip knot? The Century fireblade would be nice, need another rod to be honest. Penn tidal could come in useful. What tip light do you use? keep these vids coming pal, very professional , but on ya tod, blows my mind. Still on a massive learning curve myself. Takes 100% to even catch, never mind tripods n shit🙃

Have you tried using "canny clips"?
I've recently started using them over rough grounds and found I'm losing less fish and rigs (I use a rubber stop above the canny clip to stop bottom bead on pulley rig getting in way of bait clip/hook)
Also a lot cheaper...
I just need a tough rod now, my 1990's Diawa 13ft PKS rods are great but are showing signs of age now and need a rebuild and can't really cast 7oz weights that far...
Been looking at new rods and a tough modern rod is definitely a tool I need to add to my kit, that Century Fireblade 14ft rod looks like it has some power that can handle heavier weights - what's you overall opinion on it?
