Draining A Flooding Major Road With Whirlpools

- I came across this Blocked Drain causing a Flood over multiple lanes of a Major Arterial in Central Sydney. Whirlpools are Created as the Flood Recedes. I have No Rake On-Hand so a nearby Stick will suffice.

I love these drain clearing videos.
You can see they are grown men. You can see they are providing a civic benefit.
But, it still comes down to boys playing in the water in the ditch.
It makes me smile.
It bothers me that no one is slowing down, but instead splashes you. Not a tiny bit but full on drenching..

Wonderful. A lot of drivers don't know how much you are saving them. From car damage and loosing control. And hurting themselves and others

You should also watch Beaver Dam Removal channel. It’s very primitive and what this man does with a stick. He’s very dedicated attacking the clogs sometimes at night in the rain with just his hands or a nearby stick. He doesn’t talk like this channel, just the sounds of the water, very relaxing!

The receding tide line on the road is also interesting the road features reappearing to the drivers out of the flood,shame on the cars seeing how well they can wet you!
With a stick, this was cleared with a stick. Imagine what the city could do if they cared.

Now some people, who bought a home in an overdeveloped suburb that was once designated as a flood runoff zone, is now complaining about the sudden flooding of their properties.
So satisfying to watch!

You are doing your community a great service. Its good to see people proactive. Im just sad the the US has lost touch with the idea of civic pride, maintenance and service. Infrastructure is visibly failing.
In Australia the flooded road in an underpass would be closed off, part closed to divert traffic or at least warned with "Water over Road" signs. There would be city workers available. Urban flooding is treated seriously by authorities.

They really do give a driver’s license to anybody😉. What part of Do not drive thru standing water do these people not understand? You never know if part of the road has collapsed. Leaves are the nemesis of a drain. Litter is shame on the humans! Truly nothing sexier than a gloved hand cleaning a clog 👏.

Yes, I definitely wish I had one, but I was just passing by, & I don't carry a rake down the city streets as a standard. Fortunately I had some gloves or it would have been too gross.

You need a rake instead of a stick...however if a stick is all you had...Great work...again good job...but you had gloves on...you should have just gone in full tilt with the gloves when you found the drain. Appreciate the effort but could have been a lot quicker...

It is amazing effort that Post 10 and others like him do. But when are we going to start holding public officials accountable to make sure ALL public roads are draining properly. That's where our tax dollars should be serving us. Instead of creating more of a surveillance state in these cities. Otherwise, if we have to only rely on guys such as Post 10, can our taxes be lowered at 2 to 5%.

You need a sturdy Post10 type metal rake instead of a stick and as for disrespectful drivers spraying you with filthy water they deserve to have their engines flooded especially as they can see you.
