How to Clean Pee & Stains off a Mattress with Baking Soda & Vinegar Properly

- This is how you clean a mattress with baking soda and vinegar. By using a bit of baking soda and your vacuum cleaner, you can effectively clean and freshen your mattress in just a couple of hours! This process will eliminate moisture, odors, dirt, dust mites, and other unwelcome substances, without any harsh chemicals or lingering fumes.
How to clean urine from mattress? Use a dry towel, cloth, or paper towels to lightly blot up the excess urine, then strip the bed. Avoid rubbing the stain, as this will only spread the urine deeper into the mattress. Sprinkle baking soda onto the affected area to absorb the remaining moisture. Use a sufficient amount of stain remover to ensure that product soaks through the mattress as much as the urine would have originally soaked through. Allow to air dry. After urine odor and stain are removed, remove residue by applying a small amount of water to the area and blotting it up with a paper towel.
How to clean stains out of a mattress? For a greener clean, you can try spraying the mattress with vinegar and then sprinkling the baking soda over top. Let it bubble and place a towel over it for 1-2 hours. Vacuum up any residual baking soda.

@@hi.goodbye2167 maybe a minute or so, just so that there's less baking soda 'grittiness'. i used paper towel to dab off the lemon water, and then dried off the damp area with hairdryer and brushed off any remaining baking soda
IF YOU HAVE ON YOUR SETTEE CUSHIONS THAT COME OFF YOU SETTEE, REMOVE THE COVERS, WASH ON A COLD, WRAP THE CUSHION IN CLINGFILM, PUT THE DRY COVER BACK ON AND JUST LEAVE. AFTER A MONTH SMELL ETC ETC GONE. ERM, CLEAN SPONGE PART FIRST. NO IDEA HOW OR WHY IT WORKS BUT IT DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or after dumping the water onto mattress, can I first spray the vinegar on stains, then put the baking soda all over the mattress. Someone said that baking soda also absorbs the odor. So baking soda is good as dry and wet when applying onto mattress?

I would imagine you can put the baking soda on first before or after you get the matress wet. I don't think it makes a difference. It all mixes in anyways.

I'll have to wait until tomorrow to clean my mattress as I haven't any wine glasses or water goblets to dampen the mattress with water. So I'll run to the thrift store first thing in the morning. Does anyone know, can it be just glass, or does it need to be a crystal?

This didn't work for me on our quilted off white playpen "mattress"...I even put extra baking soda and let it sit overnight...it looked the exact same in the morning after the vinegar step.

Could I just do by damping water in the area of the stains and adding baking soda in the area where the stains at and vacuuming it? Or I have to do the both steps that is spraying vinegar and I also have one last question, what is the vinegar for is it to make the smell better or is it to remove the yellow stains?
Vinegar also removes the stains. It`s great for adding to your laundry instead of fabric conditioner. I use for example soap nuts and vinegar for eco washing :)

Why are people so scared of vinegar's smell. I never even Snell cos the smell doesn't bother me Ignore the smell and enjoy working with vinegar. It does a good job and it makes salad taste good.

Or just soak the area with enzymatic cleaner from a pet store, let dry. If it still stinks, repeat until odor is clear. Then cover the stain with a mattress pad and sheet.

Ok, so I used an enzymatic cleanser, but that has it's iwn weird smell that I now need to get out. I couldn't understand the robo voice. Is it straight vinegar or diluted to get the cleaner smell out?
