Oh Hell yes! When you first dropped the idea I was like, you clever bastard! This is why I watch your channel, interesting content, sense of humor and that can do attitude. Love it.
That forklift has proven to be one of the smartest purchases you have every made. How could you have muscled that around without it? Not to mention all of the other projects you have tackled with it. Always a "thinker" and more importantly " a Doer". Great videos!
on one hand what a crazy idea. on the other hand what a crazy idea. 😂 Seems like the tractor will be intact for tractor work and there is plenty of room for upgrades and adaptive changes over time. You might even be able to dual up and straddle all the rows when it's really wet. You have some options to add a closed center pump system on the tractor due to the belt drives. You can probably get an even bigger tank between the wheels and mount the 300 gal up front...add a tow behind tank....spray and plant in one pass... etc❤ good luck and thanks for sharing this project with us 😊
Hi from France, i'm more or less a city slicker, although i now live out in the boonies and comute daily to my job in the big smoke, i really do enjoy your chanel,i do watch others, but i find it great to finally see a farmer who seems to get by without spending millions each season and well seems honest enough to show how the "older" stuff can still bring in some dollars, with all the ups and downs associated. Great little chanel.
Hi JT. You remind me of my dad. He was always coming up with solutions like your sprayer. And that definitely looks first rate. Utilizing your assets to the max.
Should put a small chem inductor on the side or on the spraybar so you dont have to hoist chemicals up and down the tractor and make a hose hook up down below so you also dont have to climb up to put the hose in the tank.
You really need to pick up a cheap plasma cutter. It’ll change your life! The phrase “hot knife thru butter” comes to mind. Just make sure you get one with pilot arc.
I know you enjoy working on your projects, but this one is special to you. I could see the sparkle in your eyes and a bit more giddy-up in your step! I believe it will work fantastic for you. Good job and thanks for taking us along with you!
I built a sprayer out of a Broyhill pickup sprayer for 125 dollars Set it on my old big tire spreader gear added hydraulic cylenders to the booms from a gleaner combine and added ft to make it 3 units wide of the bean planter .I sprayed 600 acres with it for 7 years. Love it
Chem Farm made a front mounted sprayer unit in the ‘70’s. My brother had a MF 4840 with this unit installed. A crankshaft belt drive ran the pump. Massey axles were not heavy enough to have this weight out front, so issues developed in later years. Other neighbours used rear mounted tanks on Versatile 875 and 1100 tractors. Incorporating chemicals this way improved productivity. Good on you for reviving this system.
That's a brilliant idea, making use of what you have . Here in the UK 🇬🇧 we mount tanks on the rear some of the smaller 1200 and 1205 have been converted to slurry tankers and lime spreaders . Great video J T
Hi from Galway Ireland as a retired farmer from epilepsy I loved the way you put the machine together I drove a lot when I was young but can't drive anymore due to it but 10 out of 10 for effort much appreciated cheers Declan 👍👍🖐️🖐️
You might be able to loosen off your tank straps and slide the tank back an inch or two and give your tank the clearance it would need and not touch the cab end at all. Thanks for taking us along
Jt. Make sure you can make everything quick and detectable as far as your controls, plumbing etc, so you can unbolt the tank ,lift it off if you want to and to use the tractor for other farming activities if needed
Well damn JT, I think you just won the HFE merit badge. That is Hobby farmer engineer. Son of a biscuit, you really came up with a great idea. I am really impressed, cause as i am thinking about, that should work slicker than sliced bread. Cant wait to see ya run it. Happy farming. Enjoy a few blue mountains and take a little break... later
😁Fantastic result. 👍That Tank is kissing close to the fuel tank at full turn .I would unstrap it and move it a couple of inches to the rear in its cradle. great video thanks
Love it JT! I t has the benefit of the booms being on the 3 point and completely removable if you did happen to need the tractor for other things. Great plan!
That is some fantastic engineering right there. You need yourself a torch for many of your projects. A torch will outperform any cutoff wheel or saws of any kind. Anyway another cool video.
Absolute bad ass idea I've seen pictures of a Massey 1505 converted to a slurry tanker over here in the UK but your set up looks less complicated and you could also use the tractor on other tasks if you wanted to great job love it .
Great job dude I really enjoy today's show that looks better than I thought it would even that is a great idea and it turned out really nice and I think it's going to work perfect for you , you utilize your equipment very efficiently,!!!
JT just a couple of thoughts, on the bottom of tank put a tee not an elbow so as to have a wash out /drain, us some rubber mounts on the frame to frame to reduce vibrations
I think I would paint the tank red to match leaving a 12"wide stripe in the center all the way around the tank so you still have a sight glass for its liquid level.
I appreciate the small farm ingenuity, i remember seeing a giy that built a self propelled cart our of a combine that the separator took a shit on... full honestly in high school, we blew up our IH 1460 combine, it had a 5.9 cummins, the only place we found one was the local dodge dealer, so we had the only combine withba dodge valve cover innthe county. Lol
Quite a project there JT! That is one heavy duty sprayer you got there! I am in about the same situation you were in with spraying equipment. So have been contracting my spraying out for about ten years now. With all the rising costs...have been looking at getting back to spraying again.
That is very very cool! It's going to be a pain when you have to put chemicals in the tank but I'm sure you'll think of a solution for that too. Good job JT
This was a brilliant idea, bud. Good thinking, and thanks for bringing us along for the execution of said idea! Also... 25:47 maybe a little more grease on the mast of that lift... My ears are still ringing 😂
I have a suggestion for ya... add a rod to the left side of the forker seat, pivot at the bottom.. then attach a link rod from the old forward to reverse lever to the new one you just added and then you no longer have to reach behind you to move the fork lift. And it would not be in your way... just thinking out loud
@jtsbarnngrill6873 oh! I see now! I was watching you pump that lever to move the back and forth.. just had my brain gears turning. Love the sprayer!!!!! It's just 100 percent badass!
That's gonna be a really nice upgrade over the pull behind unit. It is also a really good use of an "extra" articulated four wheel drive tractor. Given the number of acres that you farm and your assortment of tractors you can almost have 1 tractor dedicated to each operation that you need to do and a spray rig like that is a very good thing to have. The only issue I see is getting the product that you're applying into the tank with it sitting that high on the back of the tractor, but that's something that can easily be dealt with for no more acres than you're dealing with. It might be an issue for 2,000 acres, but not 150.
Great innovation. Was noticing that you can loosen up the tank straps and move your tank back to get a little more clearance from your fuel tank. Keep up your videos.
Hey JT, that looks like it will work just fine. With a good harvest you'll be the envy of the County! I can just picture you scouting for more land! Thanks
for sure the best massey sprayer ive ever seen! very cool idea looks like it should work! I assume the tank will just stay on year round even if u still use it for field work?
Oh Hell yes! When you first dropped the idea I was like, you clever bastard! This is why I watch your channel, interesting content, sense of humor and that can do attitude. Love it.
Thank you! I really appreciate that 😉
I second that!
Don't forget Fluffy, she adds 10+ internets to each video she's in. Even if she doesn't approve of all of JT's shenanigans. :)
It simply amazes me how you can turn a pile of crap into a useful piece of equipment. Keep up the awesome videos of your masterpieces.
Your home made sprayer will work like a charm after seeing what you've done already with the stuff you have
I sure hope so!
I think you singlehandedly have brought back the necessity is the mother of invention skill that the last 40 yrs has tried to kill off...😊 thank you!
Right on! Appreciate that!
20 years ago lots of people in my area were turning their old four wheel drive tractors into high clearance sprayers. Worked real well.
Right on
That forklift has proven to be one of the smartest purchases you have every made. How could you have muscled that around without it? Not to mention all of the other projects you have tackled with it. Always a "thinker" and more importantly " a Doer". Great videos!
Thanks! I have no idea how I’d have conquered that without the forklift!
The first V8 powered articulated sprayer, ever! Well done
Thanks!
Definitely not the first. There is one video of a steiger wildcat with a tank on the back and large booms and I doubt that was the first either
Well done Youngster. I can't wait to see it in use.
Thanks!
I,m amazed at what you have achieved bringing back to life dead old farm equipment and making it useful again ,Totally Awesome
Right on. Thanks!
Love how you take old Equipment and make new love old iron
Thanks!
Joe,,dude,,seriously?? You are the most creative, lunatic, inspired guys on TH-cam. Nothing is out of reach. Your brain is amazing.
Thanks!
Necessity is the mother of invention.
Job well done JT 👏

Nice booms!
Thanks!
That is definetly the coolest sprayer! I also cant beleive how well that little old red/yellow tractor starts and runs!
Right?!
Think you should give the tank a coat of white paint...would set it off really nicely, nice work JT 👍
Not a bad idea
I know you enjoy working on your projects, but this one is special to you. I could see the sparkle in your eyes and a bit more giddy-up in your step! I believe it will work fantastic for you. Good job and thanks for taking us along with you!
Thanks! I really appreciate that!
I think the forklift is your best purchase ever
It has been!
Love it

Love it!!! Thinking outside the box! That will Work!! Kick Ass!!
Right on! Thanks!
What a brain storm ! Would be nice to see a liiiittle more space between the tanks when your swung tight . Great video JT
Thanks 👍. I moved it back a 1 1/2 and it clears better
"As many as the yard will hold" 🤣🤣 Or one for every implement.👍 No need to waste time changing attachments every season...
Right 😆😆
Great idea. I agree with your theory of how many tractors a guy needs.
Bingo! And I have a lotta yard left 😂
Right on. My neighbours have a sprayer mounted on a 1805, put together in the 80s. I think it has a 800 gallon tank...
Nice! That’s a big one!
Fantastic job JT. It looks every bit the part! It's just works! Well done again JT.
Thank you very much!

I really don’t need to watch another farm video. But those Massey Fergusons !!!
Right on😆😉
Spray and pray JT !
You are a true farmer with the proper "make do and mend" attitude.
regards, Ard
Thanks!

Great stuff JT, 👀looking good from Leonard 🤠
Thanks 👍
With the Massey sprayer ,you're right up there with Welkers big bud sprayer, you made JT
Right on! Big time operator 😉
Nice 👍
You might be able to loosen off your tank straps and slide the tank back an inch or two and give your tank the clearance it would need and not touch the cab end at all. Thanks for taking us along
The Superman t shirt was appropriate for this job because you are the man !!!
Right on👍🏼💪🏼💪🏼
This is exactly why your channel is so good!! Great idea! cant wait to see more of it.
Thank you so much!
You're the Dr. Frankenstein of farm equipment, borrow this from over here, put these together like so
BOOM!!! IT'S ALIVE, MY CREATION IS ALIVE!!! LOL
Bingo!
It looks like the boss is out to see what trouble you're getting yourself into this time. Every video with Fluffy gets a 10+ Internets from me. :)
Right on! I’ll have to keep her out with me instead of inside with momma 😆😆
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 Give her a cat perch in the shop so she can keep an eye on you. 😁
thats a gréât invention. good work.
Thanks!
Jt. Make sure you can make everything quick and detectable as far as your controls, plumbing etc, so you can unbolt the tank ,lift it off if you want to and to use the tractor for other farming activities if needed
Right on, I’ve been making some plans for that very thing!
Very nice idea...

I did move it back 2”. Clears great now
Yes sir awesome idea lots of visibility and if happens to be a little damp just giver some more throttle
Right on!
Well that should get the neighbours talking lol. Great job.
Thanks 👍
Love it JT! I t has the benefit of the booms being on the 3 point and completely removable if you did happen to need the tractor for other things. Great plan!
Right on!
Looks awesome JT
Thanks!
That is gonna work awesome almost looks like you know what your doing
Almost 😆
That's a great idea for a sprayer. I can't wait to see it all done buddy
Thanks 👍
You could make a frame under tank so your plumbing would be easy..
great job on the sprayer nice video
Thanks 👍
I like how you reuse old equipment and make it work without spending a fortune on it.
Thanks!
JT my friend that is ingenuity at its finest. Can’t wait to see the finished product and in action! 👍
Thanks!
That is some fantastic engineering right there. You need yourself a torch for many of your projects. A torch will outperform any cutoff wheel or saws of any kind. Anyway another cool video.

Now you have a adjustable weight for the back. Getting real fancy

Super cool gotta be one of a kind! Ingenious 👍

Absolute bad ass idea I've seen pictures of a Massey 1505 converted to a slurry tanker over here in the UK but your set up looks less complicated and you could also use the tractor on other tasks if you wanted to great job love it .

So happy for you that’s going to work great👍👍. Glad to see you keep the old Massey going
Thanks 👍

Jt. This might, might be your best idea yet.
Looks good so far.
Thanks! I appreciate that!
Love it you have to be able to think outside the box when you have limited money but an I can attitude
Right on
Great job and ingenuity JT!!! Look like that unit will geterdun for a long time for you.
I hope so!
Looks Good, it's always nice to be able to repurpose stuff, Great project. 😊
You got that right!
JT just a couple of thoughts, on the bottom of tank put a tee not an elbow so as to have a wash out /drain, us some rubber mounts on the frame to frame to reduce vibrations

I think so too!
Looking good fella 👍 will be great to see it up and running 😀....

So i think the project is a go!
It looks good as well!😊

It's a Great idea But I would find some rear Fenders to add a Safety point which will also add some Class
Right on! The fenders would be cool!
Fits nicely looks good
Thanks!
That looks awesome! 😎…you’ll be the envy of the neighborhood….
You got that right!
That’s a beautiful setup mate 👌you should be very proud of yourself 👍cheers from down under 🇦🇺
Thank you!
G.D. Gump your a genius I saw all that real estate on the back as soon as you started talking!!! Why the hell not.
Bingo!
I love it when a plan comes together, awesome job.
Thank you!
Where there’s a will there’s a way I like it👍sometimes you have to think outside the box!

Right😆😆😆. It rings my ears, but then I forget to grease it lol
Hell yeah man. that is going to be a sweet spray rig.
Thanks!
You are putting fun back into farm
Right on!
Nice spraying rig JT!!!
Thanks!
Awesome like creative genius! Well done!

JT one thing I see you do not have is a two wheel trailer, now you have the pieces and parts for one!!!
Right! Next project 😉
Nice job JT. Looks like it will work great!
Thanks!
I wish i got things done like you do.
Never a dull moment around here!
We built three sprayers over the years. They were always fun projects. Yours is going to be awesome.
Thanks!
Looking forward to see it in action and that tank just fit great job
Thanks!
Your gravel driveway was money well spent, JT.
Right on!
You know what mate that's a bloody good idea go for it, G'day from Australia 🇦🇺
Right on!
Jt what's the clear liquid in the container on the left-hand side of your fork lift ? Is it up cylinder lubricant?, Regards Gordon......
Temporary fuel tank
Oh ok cool
That's a 10 out of 10 from me great job JT 👏👏👍👍
Wow, thanks!
Great innovation. Was noticing that you can loosen up the tank straps and move your tank back to get a little more clearance from your fuel tank. Keep up your videos.
I actually moved it back 1” and it all works great now!
JT your a got damn genius
Thanks!! 😆
Hey JT, that looks like it will work just fine. With a good harvest you'll be the envy of the County! I can just picture you scouting for more land! Thanks
Right on! Maybe another 60 next year
for sure the best massey sprayer ive ever seen! very cool idea looks like it should work! I assume the tank will just stay on year round even if u still use it for field work?
Most likely. I have make it easily removable just in case
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 i like it !
I like the look of that setup. It's going to be really cool once it's up and running!!!
Thanks! It’ll be miles ahead of what I had!
