- In this conversation Ilan Pappé discusses his views on the recent events, like Netanyahu's speech in the congress and the attack on the Druze community in the Golan Heights. And then the discussion turns to the history of the Nakba and economics of Zionism; ending with the discussion of the Israeli education and how Ilan escaped the Israeli indoctrination. He sheds light on how to fight against Zionism, while also highlighting the problems in Palestinian movement, which he says hopefully he would discuss in his upcoming book which he calls "The End of Israel?". This is the moment in history which he calls "the darkest moment".

To give you the simple answer: The people who give money to AIPAC (and other Israel-centered organizations in America) are themselves Americans. If the money came from Israel, then it WOULD need to register as a foreign agency.
I am not defending the Israel lobby. I just know the answer to your question because I was curious, too, and recently searched for the answer.
