    Great outcome for you and the Major
    Bring it back from the brink and make a useful tractor.

      It certainly is and I'm enjoying learning a bit along the way. Cheers.

      @@gashy1000 For sure, I didnt realise the hydrolics were that simple, but just up and down, no draft control. well explained in the video
      The quality of the steel impresses me that you can free up the linkage level box and lift arm threads after all these years. Will he paint it or leave it in the rough ?

    Hi, great video! We’re having trouble replacing the front PTO, we think we have the wrong seal and that we may need a special tool?
    Could you do a video on this?

      Does your tractor have a front PTO, or are you referring to the crank start/pully. Some fordsons do have a hydralic pump mounted to the front crank. I unfortunately do not have one of them.

    You've done a fantastic mate, I'm a bit worried about that PTO extension though, they used to be (1970's) pretty dodgy.

      Several different types of PTO extensions on the market but I went with one that has the tightening bolt. I had to file a grove in the original shaft to slide the bolt in so it's locked in fairly well. Time will tell!

      @@fixingfordsonsaustralia6632 Seems like much better engineering than the ones I'm familiar with then. Look forward to seeing it in action.

    Hi I have a question
    What can go wrong on the gearbox my pto is very noisy when it is engaged

    • @fixingfordsonsaustralia6632
      @fixingfordsonsaustralia6632  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Several things, could be a fouled bearing in the PTO housing etc that is grinding when you engage it. Also debris in the engagement gears etc. Try a oil change and flush, check for metal debris when you do.
