As a flute player playing this at football games, this is my absolute favorite song! It gets the whole game into spirit. Anyone struggling with this, you got this!
What’s annoying is I feel like no one can hear the flutes
@@nathanbanji5015thats what worries me because im going to highschool in the 24-25 school year and i play flute😭i rlly wanna do marching band but ik the flutes are pretty hard to hear
@@nathanbanji5015you're not really supposed to hear the flutes in this song anyway
@@takiyoshiiii just finished my marching season, dont worry you can hear the flutes.
As a trombone player I can confidently say that nobody can hear the flutes.
We played this song on Friday night football games and it was my absolute favourite, I couldnt help myself, I had to jump around and rock out while playing trombone
Trombone is the best. I play trombone and trombone is the most fun instrument to play.
i’m playing it next week - Bb Clarinet
Bro I do the exact same thing with this song
The trombone part makes you feel cold-hearted
As one of the players on the field, thank you. I would always get so jacked listening to this before hitting the field. We appreciated all you marching bands. Keep it lit
Damn that alto/mello/baritone counter-melody is so good
All the flutes think they have the cool part but all us altos lucked out
Ink Well excuse me, SIRRR 😂
it is though
i play trombone and mellophone but played trombone for this

@@jordancrenshaw1843 did u see the French horn rip o.0
Just imagine it yo. Marching into the stadium while playing this, the sousa are BLASTING that sousa part, yall don't have liars, AND the DM has that Jackson State spirit in them and does some stuff as you all march out. Idk about everyone else, but that is just hype to me.
YES. omg that’s so awesome to think about
With our band, even though we have lyers, we have so much fun with this
doesn’t Jeff Davis do exactly that
if only my band could still play this ;[
my band does a dance inbetween notes 3 and 4 in measure 48 and its so fire
damn the whole percussion and low brass straight smashing, I love it!
Trombone part slaying it this is my favorite pep tune we play during the football games
Baritones have it to
That baritone lick at 1:35 is what I live for
Baritone brother?
@@dylanbunnell299 yes
I am a baritone player too and I completely agree!
Ong bruh
my favorite part
Brass and alto sax killing it
I'm not even a tuba but the tuba part sounds amazing. But French horn and alto have the best part with the trill
ShadowNinja I agree because I French horn they are powerful the trumpets just loud
it's not a trill it's a glissando
I switched to tuba in pep band just for this song
*glissando
Thanks
This is absolute hell on cymbals. There's always someone who messes it up and you can always hear them clearer than anything else in the band
I'm literally going through youtube and adding all of this season's marching band songs to my playlist
i did a routine to this at my last football game and it was the best feeling ever when everyone started clapping for us, i love marching band so much
I miss my marching band days - this is fiya 🥰🥰🥰
-FAMU marching 100 here btw 🐍🐍🐍
We play this as a stand tune, and it is absolutely amazing
1:00 - 1:15 is great with just drumline and tubas playing
That’s us. The Drumline. Best section
Medium Bugie you may be a little biased and so will i when i say tubas are better
Medium Bugie you mean tubas right? Jk love the high school drum section
I think my tuba section has a rivalry with the drum section djkshjfh
And bari sax
The brass section is amazing
My high school’s marching band played this for the 2011 half time show. I remember spending the summer memorizing this song. What a fantastic note to go out in my senior year. Well, expect the part where the band director had us high step onto the field.
Its 2024 and we're still playing it 😭😭😭
listening to this progressively faster throughout the song to replicate the true marching experience where the band speeds up
0:17 as a trumpet player it's so fun taking this part up the octave high f sounds so beautiful
We got this song this year, and now the sousas (now tubas) won’t stop playing it randomly. CAN’T BLAME THEM LOL
No one even notices that the Baritones do the trill too
I was just getting ready to say this lol
I did bc I only look at the low brass part
there isnt even a trill in the song what are you talking about
Those my good sir are glissandos
trills? I think you're talking about glissandos lol
This is great!! Please arrange more HBCU band music!!
100% AGREE WITH THIS SO MUCH. They're missing out on an entire market by NOT doing it.
I totally agree as well :)
-Music Major (Future band director)
they are from corestyle
Years past we did the snow flakiest music. Now we are getting hbcu stuff. And im glad 😊
this piece provided me with so much life go brass
Might be playing this for a marching band show and I'm so excited
This was one of our songs for a halftime show
if u listen with earbuds at high volume u can feel the basses🤤
This has no business slapping this hard
Fr
The percussion part vibes so hard, and that Alto/Horn counter melody as well as the Baritones is godly, and we can't forget about the Tuba's keeping everything together with that amazing bassline
This and Talkin’ Out the Side of Your neck are some of the best stand tunes.
my fellow tuba players sounding amazing!!
This song is for our first half-time show and I'm on colorguard, this is my favorite routine I have for our first show
This makes my sad that i didnt join band freshman year. 🙁
melissa bahena it's never to late to join I joined my junior year
@@marchingbandmedia8704 y'all had the option? To be in our band, it was either you started in 6th grade or could never join
melissa bahena same...
Adam Herrington there talking about high school not middle school
Adam Herrington mine was too. Or, if you didn’t join in 6th grade, if you can read sheet music and play at least one wind instrument, you can join
Old but Gold😊😀😀im proud to be a altos sax and clarinet player
Hey that remedy and I am a clarinet player as well
sousaphones feature, trumpets blasting, alto baritone mellophone counter melody. this piece is amazing
Amo essa música!!
ni
The song we play on festival.
Edit: FESTIVALS TOMMOROW AND I IMPPROVED RAHHHH
We made this a stand tune and omg I love it sm when we play it. I’m in concert band and colorguard for marching but I still play my instrument in class and bro it’s so fun to play
God i miss marching band so much its been 4 years
It’s also sad because it’s not like a sport where you can at least try to join a league or play outside.. I’m gonna miss it when it’s over.
@@Vette-4 yeah only chance was college really and I couldn't afford it 😞
@@SirVoidEateraw man, it’s very sad but great memories at least. It’s all we can ask for..
@@Vette-4 fair enough
I love playing this with my band sm. The trumpets (my section) sound so good.
I feel like Paula herself would absolutely adore this
We got this as a stands tune and being the only tuba and getting to blare the tuba part is so much fun.
É uma música incrível amei tocar ela ❤️😍
It's an amazing song, I loved playing it😍❤
I still have my copy of this since high scool
Years later I still listen to this song. Anyone plays saxophone I play alto sax😁
Alto player here, got this for marching band and it’s one hell of a song 😁
Alto player here
@@LiamHiatt ain’t gonna lie thanks for replying I completely forgot about this lmao
@@xsevenwolfx2395 yeah I saw it said 4 years ago 😂
we play this is our band and it's quite literally first chair mellophone with a little bit of band :) :)
Love this stand tune on trombone, LOW BRASS LETS GOOOOOO!
Man that trumpet sounds great
I play tuba and we’re playing it at my junior college this year, we got 11 tubas and we just blast it, sounds exactly like this
THIS IS MY JAMMMM
I play this with my marching for half-time
trumpet
Trumpets eat ass. Percussion is where it's at.
***** Go back to percussion. The best part of the band
Aniyah Brown same Color Gaurd ??
nah man, LOW BRASS is where the MAGIC happens
I remember last year when I used to play first trumpet and my fellow other first trumpets would try and see just how loud and how many octaves we could take it up and it got crazy
I play this at my band in college and I’m percussion and it’s my favorite Stand tune besides HipHop
bro my hs band is playing this lmao but its such a fun one to play
I play snare frl we be killing this song
Broo I wish I was born earlier so can actually experience this type of loud there is like 50 people in my band and most of them are part of the drum line and people won't join bc they'd rather do drugs or its too hard or I might just need to move to a different school hopefully WE LITERALLY HAVE TWO TRUMPETS THIS YEAR AND THAT'S INCLUDING ME but we had three last year
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAV STAND CHARTS😻🫶🏼
Were all my trombones at✋✋
Right here
Bassy TheTinyHorse wassup

I would conduct the hell out of this arrangement 🏌️🏌️
This song made me famous in my high school lmfao sometimes it’s fun to be a sousaphone player
Who else here play trumpet 🎺

we were so close to this bein a state stand tune for our high shool band but we didnt mqke it to state so we didnt play it but i still have the sheet music and imma trumpet
1:20 easily best part for trumpet
Moço eu amo essa música 😍 é tão bom tocar ela velho eu amo dms ❤️
Sometimes I listen to this arrangement just to hear this 0:59
Ela é top das tops ! Amo essa música!
As a baritone player I must say that this is fun to play
same i enjoy it
This song is so fun on trumpet
I play mello and this helps me study this song for my band football games
I love how high Trumpet 2/3 go in this piece
Esta música é a melhor que eu toquo na banda marcial de goias
Much fab, such wow.
Damn I miss dance. Football games and doing stands were even better than competitions
Only thing it's missing is the synthesizer breakdown for the high woodwinds. Would have been epic.
Such a track!
We’re playing this in our marching band, but I’m a clarinet... even with all 27 of us you can barely hear us. I’m not even mad, the song sounds great, but y’all brass players don’t know how much it sucks to be a woodwind in marching band.
Lol
our one baritone player worships this song and as a bass drum player i kinda do as well
GO CYMBALS!!!!!!
I'm not trying to brag, but alto saxophones have the best part, with the trill from high g to high b.
I agree! My school band plays this song and I play alto sax! This one of my favorite songs we play!
And French horn
Ninja6616 Yes but us Saxophones still sound better doing it XD
+Ninja6616 HELL YEAH MELLOPHONES KILLING THAT SHIT
Lashun Caesar YES MELLOS ARE THE BEST SECTION
Just Saying, Most bands that March in SWAC style play this song in this style. For instance : JSU SU ASU and FAMU
Dude don't forget the SIAC
FAMU isn't SWAC lmao
@@sigzbro is now;)
We finna play this song at holly springs downtown on Friday
we play this song for pep band. its great
What a jam
Bari sax gang 🎷
I'm sad but this is soooo good we used to play this in marching band(edit: we start back next semester which is JANUARY YAY)
The trombone part makes you feel cold-hearted
Awesome
The fact I written in my music to bring the clarinet part down an octave cause I can't play the high notes we have in it for most of the song 😳
Imagine your crush who is in percussion playing the song and plays cymbals for it and when you look over he looks so cute and at the game he pulled his hair back into a tiny ponytail like I mean tiny because his hair is long but it isn't long mainly cause he has wavy hair that is a little long like ----- this length but in hair and you are playing your clarinet qnd probably doing this when you are facing home and he is in uniform and looks even better than without uniform and kinda glad that pretty much the BD has only the woodwinds (mainly clarinets help since we are the bigger section other than prob the tenor saxes and Altos saxes together out of the woodwinds) after just alternating between trumpet and and woodwinds helping and just did woodwinds especially at football games cause we are the best at helping front because we are quicker than them when doing it prob cause there is a lot of us. Which at one of the away games they asked for some clarinets to help move front and I was one of them and like they already started walking over to were they were going to enter the feild and already started walking on and we had to run and for some reason we choose to run the long way down through side 2 when we were all on side 1 (except the one flute who helped us) and litterly made it in time and only had a few seconds to catch our breath then have to help front again to go take it back to the truck and had to go up fake grass that is like on the feild up a hill (and me and this other girl who was also a clarinet who was helping me were probably doing one of the heaviest thing because it was this huge black box that had a lot of wires and this electrical board on it I guess for the speakers or something and it was heavy) out of breath from running to our spots on the feild then do a full show then help them again and good thing we were in the back because we were struggling to get it back and like we were just like this is a freaking leg workout like seriously and it didn't help the football players from our team was sitting by the gate at the part to exit the feild/stadium area to get to our truck and stuff and then I just had a straight headache after and went threw like 3 or 4 water bottles during the break and threw the rest of the game (luckily they were cold and I was able to get some medicine) but somehow it is still my favorite memory from my first marching season (which is this year).
Also sorry for long comment
Are you just confessing something
@@breifcash7421 I don't know, but it was like really late at night when I did that so who knows 🤷♀️
Bari sax gang!!! 🎷
I’m only here because I only have one more day left to learn this song for trumpet before I have to perform in a parade and I’m one of the only ones that don’t know the song
just mock play.. i do it all the time 😭
I loved doing a flag performance to this song!
fave thing to dance to in stands

Of course alto ssxes are killing it; we always do, no question
Dang, that clarinet part goes high, but it's playable
It goes up to high a I think, which isn’t too bad I guess, it’s been worse haha
Wait I forgot I’m part 2 lol

also it's a high F or concert Eb
Y’all need to join the tuba Squad
I actually learned the tuba part on trombone and would play along with them in the beginning and in the middle of the song when we played this at basketball games
