      Hello it's me again.
My wife is almost 39 weeks pregnant and I wanna know if she could start eating Dates?

      @@biggofoe4258 Hi there 😊,
yes, absolutely! Pregnant women normally start eating dates from week 37 in order to prepare their body for labor. Just be careful in case your wife suffers from gestational diabetes, because dates contain lots of sugar...
There are also other ways to prepare the body for labor, which we explain in these 2 videos: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html
      th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html
      We hope this helps! 😊
All the best for you, your wife and your baby!! ❤️

      Hi there Claudia 😊,
you are MOST WELCOME!! We really hope that our information will help you reach your goal! 😊
If you are already 3cm dilated, that's fantastic! At least you can see that your body is preparing for labor which normally makes it easier to (naturally) induce labor.
By the way, just that you know: we explain in detail how the tools work in this video:
      th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html
Please keep in mind though that some women had to extend the length of nipple stimulation and reflexology to make this work. In fact, some women stimulated their nipples for 1+ hours per day to get contractions from it. So, it depends a bit on your body...
And one thing which could also help are exercises on a birthing ball: th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html
We wish you GOOD LUCK and ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby! ❤️

Every time I watch one of your videos I feel like I’m chatting with my close friends I’ve known for ages ❤️
Thank you for all your recommendations, they are very helpful. I’m nearly 38 weeks now, but there is an issue with my placenta so my doctor wants me to be ready for labor in case we need the baby out ☺️ Unfortunately I’m in the hospital now, so basically the only option I have is eating dates to soften my cervix. Hopefully they will let me go home soon so that I could try exercises on the ball and private time with my husband ☺️
Many thanks to both of you, you are doing an incredible thing for us! 💫

      Hi there Tetyana 😊,
this is definitely one of the SWEETEST comments that we have ever received so far!! ❤️😘 THANKS SO MUCH for your lovely feedback! 👍 It really is much appreciated and we are really really happy that you find our videos helpful!! 😊😊
We are sorry to hear that you are at the hospital when in fact, it would be so important to enjoy your time with your husband during these final weeks (maybe days). On the other hand, the most important thing is that both, you and your baby are well! So, it's great to hear that they are taking good care of you!
Eating dates is definitely a way to soften your cervix, as is acupressure. Exercises would be perfect (particularly on a birth ball), however, they will most likely not allow you to do such exercises if there are problems with your placenta. However, one thing that is equally important at this stage is relaxation. Relaxation helps keep stress levels (and thus stress hormones) in check which can help the body release more labor hormones.
Reflexology can also help here. And then finally, there is also nipple stimulation. However, we have seen that nipple stimulation is most likely gonna help you with contractions, if you have had at least some contractions in the past...
We really hope and wish you that everything turns out the way you want it to be and that you can have your personal dream birth!
Again, thanks a lot for commenting and all the best for you and your baby!! ❤️❤️

I’m 39 weeks today. The baby seems like he’s dropped a little in the past two days. I’m bouncing on the yoga ball, eating dates and drinking red raspberry leaf tea daily and getting massages weekly but no signs of contractions. This is my first baby and I’ve heard we tend to go over due dates doing natural induction.

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi there 😊,
actually, we are about to release a video (hopefully next Monday) in which we discuss in a bit more detail why natural labor induction is not so easy and what might help you make it work.
But basically, what you are doing right now, is preparing your body for labor. And that's GREAT!! In fact, you can already see that it's working because your baby has dropped!! In many ways, this is the first important step to get contractions started BECAUSE the pressure of your baby's head on your cervix is going to soften it, thin it out and then dilate it. And then, particularly if you keep supporting your body, your contractions ARE going to start because once you have dilated to about 3cm, your body needs the strong contractions to dilate the cervix further. Before that, women do not always feel contractions, even though they may be in early labor and dilate to 3cm.
So, the next step is looking for those other early signs of labor, like the mucus plug discharge, bloody show, increase of Braxton Hicks contractions etc. which show you that your body is getting ready for labor. All you can do on your end is supporting your body with that, with the things that you are doing anyways. So, great job!
And then finally, there is one more important thing that you need to do: relax! Stress hormones can interfere with labor hormones and, in the worst case, block them. And many women feel that stress because they fear that if labor doesn't start spontaneously, they are gonna be medically induced (which nobody wants). So, ideally, you find a way to relax, either by meditation, yoga, massages, whatever helps you with that! And the more relaxed you are, the faster everything will go!
We hope this information helps you! 😊
All the best for you and your baby!! ❤️❤️

I am looking for a more natural approach to avoid hospital induction but also want to decide the safest methods.

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@deepconvos1 Hi there 😊,
yes, we are aware that there are many rumors on the internet that apparently, Castor oil can cause the baby to poop in the womb. However, please note that to date, no scientific study has found a link between Castor oil and baby pooping in the womb.
Castor oil is a laxative that causes diarrhea in the mother. As a result, it is hoped that there will be a spillover effect from the intestinal activity on the uterus because the uterus is located right in front of the intestines.
As a result, if it were true that Castor oil causes diarrhea in the baby, the same would apply to everything else that causes diarrhea in the mother: spicy food, stress, a stomach bug etc.
The reality is this: it can ALWAYS happen that your baby passes meconium in your womb. And the longer you go past your due date, the higher is the probability - no matter if you drink Castor oil or not.
We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby! ❤️

      Hi there 😘,
we are really very sorry to hear about your loss and also about your situation!
Look, we don't know where you are based. However, in most countries, there are ways to get support.
What we would do is: first of all, call your midwife and talk with your midwife about your situation!
And then demand from her that you get mental support of some sort, either in the form of support groups or a therapist - whatever options you have in your country!
In some countries, you can also get support in other ways, for example, you can call support hotlines directly.
You don't have to go through all this on your own! Use the support network that exists in your country! You just need to get active and make that call!
So, please do call your midwife or a support hotline! Get all the help you can get!!
Trust us: once that baby is here, things are gonna be easier! You will get so much love from that little one! 🥰
We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

      @@lisamarieromeo6122 Hi there! 😘😘
Please don't thank us! We feel terribly sorry for your situation! If our words can help you somehow, it means a lot to us!
      Regarding your question:
When it comes to vomiting, it is difficult to say if it is a "normal" sign or not. In general, it is not uncommon to feel nauseas at this stage of pregnancy you are in right now.
However, the problem with vomiting is that you never know where it is coming from. For example, it could also be food poisoning.
That is one reason why we were saying please contact your midwife! They have the task to clarify why you are vomiting.
The other thing is your energy levels. There are several problems involved here. First, your pregnancy. Almost every woman feels tired and exhausted at 40 weeks. They just cannot take it anymore. They want their body back - understandably...
The second problem is your vomiting. If there are issues with your gastrointestinal tract, it will drain even more energy because your body is no longer able to absorb the energy contained in food.
And the third problem is COPD. People with COPD often face problems with their energy levels. It's a result of the impaired function of the lungs.
Finally, regarding the state of your pregnancy: please note that - on average - a pregnancy lasts between 38 and 42 weeks. And unless there are medical problems that require your baby to get out of there faster, there is normally not a reason to be concerned.
But of course, this is something only your doctor can tell you!
So, we strongly recommend that you talk with your doctor about your options - also because of your peace of mind!
We also want to point out that fears, worries and, in particular, grief can have a big impact on your body's ability to produce labor hormones.
Which leads us to the next important topic: mental support! As we said, you don't have to go through this on your own! Use the existing support network!! That's what they are here for! Dealing with your situation can also make it more likely for your body to produce labor hormones....
We hope all this makes sense! So, please do take action! Even though you don't have the energy to do anything at all! But making that call can be a big help!!
We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! And lots of strength!!❤

You give some great tips and advice for inducing labour naturally, and I look forward to testing them out - except for the castor oil...a laxative effect doesn't sound too inviting :D

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there Mel 😊,
thanks SO MUCH for your lovely comment and feedback! ❤️
Yes, a laxative effect is really not what most women want when they go into labor. But actually, it's the laxative effect that could help you go into labor. That's because your intestines are located right behind your uterus. And so, it is hoped that there is a "spill over" effect from the intestinal activity on the uterus.
That said, most women don't need it to induce labor. If you do a good job in preparing your body for labor (and week 37 is the perfect week to start with it), then chances are that you go into labor spontaneously all by yourself. If not, we prefer nipple stimulation over Castor oil (acupuncture and reflexology could also help). 😊
In the meantime, we wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there Hannah 😊,
thanks so much for your feedback - we are very happy to hear that you like our videos! 😘
By the way: in our newest video, we talk more about WHY Castor oil is supposed to work: th-cam.com/video/MOLF-vt0wM8/w-d-xo.html
And we also explain why it is possible to produce the same effect with other things, like for example, with spicy food. Of course, in both cases, you would suffer from loose bowels. But that's not the worst thing that can happen before you go into labor because if your bowels are empty, your baby has more space to move through your pelvis...
What you do want to avoid is extreme vomiting because it's the last thing you need when you are in labor... Extreme vomiting happens in about 7% of women taking Castor oil. But it happens less when you eat spicy food as long as you don't overdo it...
That said, we have found that nipple stimulation is often as powerful as Castor oil, particularly when combined with reflexology. But we have to admit: the effect is not the same in every woman...
      We hope this helps! 😊
We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

      Hi there! 😊
Thanks a lot for your input!
Interesting that you should mention this today because we are going to publish a video on evening primrose oil this week.
However, we could not see that the results are so clear: The last two scientific review and meta studies (from 2021) came to opposing conclusions. One concludes that it helps, the other one says it does not.
We then also came to the conclusion (based on our research) that they came to different conclusions because they focus on vaginal and oral application at the same time. However, it seems that vaginal application works better.
That said, we have not found any studies which explicitly investigated the safety of evening primrose oil. So if you have any such studies, please let us know!!
      Thanks a lot! 😊

      Hi there Mommy Cindy! 😊
Thanks so much for sharing your story!! We can absolutely understand that you cannot wait to cuddle that sweet little thing of yours!
From our experience, week 38 is still a bit early. Don't get us wrong: some women DO go into labor in week 38. However, most women only go into labor around their due date or even later.
So right now, all you can do really is help your body prepare for labor. The most effective way to prepare the body for labor are exercises, if your doctor allows you to do exercises. Exercises on a birthing ball can be particularly effective (we explain them in this video: th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html) because clinical studies have shown that they have a great effect on the cervix. In fact, if your baby is still very high, then exercises on a birthing ball can really be helpful here because once your baby has dropped, the additional pressure on your cervix will speeds things up.
We wish you all the best for the upcoming delivery, for you and for your baby!! ❤️❤️

Hi I really appreciated your reply to my comment. :)
Btw, I have few more questions to ask. Would you recommend doing squats instead of exercising in birthing ball because I don't have like that right now. And instead of castor oil, I'm having Evening Primrose Oil.

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@cindygrmn Hi there! You are MOST WELCOME!! 😊😊
In general, squats are a great exercise. However, they don't have the same effect as pelvic rocking or circular movements on a birthing ball. Also, at the moment, we are investigating, if a woman should avoid deep squats as long as her baby is not yet engaged. Therefore, at the moment, we don't recommend deep squats as long as your baby has not yet engaged just to make sure it does not interfere with your baby's attempts to drop ;-)
Regarding evening primerose oil as a means of labor induction: Only some weeks ago, scientists published what is called a "systematic review" about the effect of primerose oil on cervical ripening and labor induction. This means that they looked at all the other studies up to 2021 to see, if we can deduct from those studies, that it works or not. They found that evening primerose oil does NOT have any effect on cervical ripening.
At the clinic, we had a few cases of women who took primerose oil and we can confirm that it did not have any effect... So, based on that, we cannot recommend it.... ;-)
We hope this information helps you!
All the best for you and your baby!! ❤️❤️

      Hi there Chelsea 😊,
poor you! You are probably frustrated! 🙈 At some point, all you want is for that baby to be in your arms rather than in your belly, right?
The problem is: on average, a pregnancy lasts between 38 and 42 weeks. So, you only just "entered" that period. And although clinic studies have shown that the tools that we present here - on average - seem to speed up the process, there are limits to what these tools are capable of.
For example: you could drink a whole bottle of Castor oil. But if your body is not ready for labor, then it won't send you into labor.
Because of that, the first step is really to help the body prepare the cervix for labor, with dates, acupressure, exercises etc. These tools are intended to soften the cervix. The faster the cervix is soft, the faster the subsequent changes can happen.
So, the first step is really to eat dates, do acupressure, exercise and apply reflexology (unless your doctor tells you you cannot). And then only in the next step would you try to induce labor...
      We hope this helps! 😊
We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby! ❤️

      Hi there Selena 😊,

The good news is that you can see that your body is already preparing for labor. However, the answer that we posted below Chelsea's comment also applies to you (and to all women in general).
So at that stage, the best thing to do is really to focus on tools to soften the cervix!

      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there Marvella 😊,
great topic!! Thanks a lot for your input! We definitely put it on our list! 😊
In the meantime, we can tell you that there are lots of scientific studies which have shown that an experienced doula can have lots of positive effects on labor. For example, some studies show that a doula might help reduce the number of (unnecessary) medical interventions during a delivery. A doula might even help reduce the risk of an emergency C-section.
Besides, the women we know who had a doula report that they felt comfortable having a doula around them (feeling comfortable can decrease the stress levels of a woman considerably - which has lots of positive effects on labor). It also seems to have a significant effect on pain relief during labor.
So, in brief: we can only recommend hiring an experienced doula! 😊
      We hope this helps!

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@rimabegum3366 Okay, that's great, because that means that your body is at least preparing for labor. Your probably even started to dilate, since you lost your mucus plug (when the cervix starts to dilate, women do not necessarily feel contractions).
In general, the most important thing that can help women go into labor spontaneously is exercising (a 30 minutes walk per day is already a great way of doing exercises. Also, scientific studies have shown that exercises on a birthing ball, like the ones we teach here: th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html, have a positive effect on the cervix. Of course, you can only do exercises, if your doctor allows it (not every woman is allowed to do them, for example, if you have had pregnancy-related complications).
The other thing is: relaxation. Try massages, yoga, meditation, whatever relaxes you. That's because relaxation helps keep stress hormones in check which can help release more labor hormones (which can be blocked by stress hormones).
Another thing that has helped many women in your situation is nipple stimulation, acupressure and reflexology. We teach how everything works in this video (th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html). However, please keep in mind that the effectivity of acupressure and reflexology (if you do it yourself) are nowhere near the effectivity of acupuncture and/or reflexology done by a professional therapist. In fact, if you would come to our clinic, we would try a combination of acupuncture and reflexology to help you get contractions going... So, seeing an experienced acupuncturist or reflexologist could be another great idea in your situation.
We really hope that this information helps you! And please keep in mind that you also need to be patient! Your body did prove to you that it is preparing for labor. So it is really just a matter of time until it happens! 😊
All the best for you and your baby and please let us know how it goes!! ❤️❤️

41+6 today and my cervical exam was very disappointing. Not effaced or dialated, also it was posterior and therefore very difficult to get to. I have an induction scheduled for 42+2. None of this is what I had envisioned of course and its so hard hearing about so many women being dialated and they're only 37 weeks. I don't know why my body is taking so long. This is my first and it is a boy. I hear that means you carry longer and my mom carried past 42 weeks with 2 of her babies, so it could be somewhat genetic. Idk but I've literally been doing everything in this video except acupuncture or acupressure for months. 🙃 I'm trying hard to stay positive. Thankfully there is an end in sight with an induction and baby is doing great. 😊

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there Eleeyah 😊,
thanks a lot for sharing this with us!
First of all, please be assured that you are not alone: we regularly meet women who are in the exact same situation as you are now. Nothing that we try seems to work (including acupuncture and acupressure by the way). And it is extremely difficult to find the reason why it's taking so long. But here is what we have learned over the past decade:
In about 20-25% of these cases, the EDD was not estimated based on an ultrasound exam in or before week 12. OR: it was based on such an early ultrasound, but then it was changed based on an ultrasound exam that was done at a later stage. Not sure, if this applies to you too. But please note that the most "accurate" EDD is based on an ultrasound exam in or before week 12...
The other thing that often prevents their labor from starting or progressing are fears, worries, stress or other emotions. In that case, we can (normally) indeed do something with acupuncture, but it often requires many sessions.
The third thing are medications: they can considerably mess around with hormones and what make things worse is that different medications have a different impact on different women. In other words: if 2 women take the same product, the effect on their labor may still be different.
And finally: yes, we also met women whose mothers were in similar situations when they delivered. So, it might indeed be that your gens play a role (not sure if there is any research about this)...
It's hard to give good advice here, except from this: stay positive! And we also want to add that, although many of those women we met were induced eventually, they all gave birth to perfectly healthy babies. And this is what we wish you too!! 😊
We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming induction/delivery, for you and your baby!! ❤️

Please note that 38 weeks is still very early days! Therefore, there is really no reason to be disappointed right now because the biggest part of your cervical dilation can only happen once your contractions have started.

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! 😊
Week 36 is perfect! Because at the clinic, we would start preparing the cervix for labor from week 37 onwards.
So, the first step would be to soften the cervix. What we do at the clinic to support this process, is apply acupressure and eat dates from week 37 onwards (actually, some women even start with dates even in week 36). We would also do exercises on a birthing ball because they can have a great effect on the cervix too. And then from week 38, we do reflexology in addition to the other tools.
Very often, this is enough for a woman to go into labor spontaneously as soon as the body is ready for it. If not, there are other tools available, such as nipple stimulation and Castor oil to support this process.
We explain everything in detail in these two videos:

      Hi there 😊,
please don't worry! When it comes to labor, things can suddenly go really fast! 😊
If you want to speed up labor, then the most important thing to do is to make sure that your cervix is soft. Because only when your cervix is soft can your body work on its effacement and dilation. Because of that, we normally start with dates and acupressure in week 37 (plus exercises and reflexology from week 38). The purpose here is not to induce labor. Neither dates nor acupressure can do that. The only purpose is to help the body soften the cervix.
And then once your cervix is soft, chances are higher that (natural) labor induction works. It's not a guarantee, but it's a good basis. And then, if a woman does not go into labor spontaneously, we would try acupuncture, reflexology, nipple stimulation and exercises. And, as a last resort, Castor oil.
So, things that have helped other women (naturally) induce labor at this point where you are, are
      1. Nipple stimulation (just keep in mind that it may not be done with a few minutes per day)
      2. Reflexology
      3. Acupuncture (mainly addressing stress level; and please note: it has to be acupuncture; acupressure would not help in your case)
      4. Exercises on a birthing ball
Of course, there is also Castor oil. However, please never try Castor oil without the approval of your doctor!
We talk more about these tools and also how to apply them in these 2 videos: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html (reflexology, nipple stimulation)
      th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html (birth ball exercises)

      Hi there! ❤️
Poor you! ❤️ We can absolutely understand your frustration! At some point, you are just tired and exhausted and you have the feeling that you cannot do this for much longer...
The "problem" is that you started to dilate very early in your pregnancy. And when that happens, we often observe that the dilation progress "gets stuck" at some point and it seems to take ages for the body to proceed. In other words, your dilation does not follow a steady line.
There can be many reasons why this happens, but they are all just theory which doesn't help your. However, there ARE thigs which have helped other women in similar situations:
      1. Nipple stimulation (just keep in mind that it may not be done with a few minutes per day; however, this could work really well in your case...)
      2. Reflexology (same as nipple stimulation: it may not be done with a few minutes per day only)
      3. Acupuncture (this can work particularly well if your stress levels are really high; and please note: it has to be acupuncture; acupressure would most probably not help in your case)
      4. Exercises on a birthing ball
Of course, there is also Castor oil. However, personally, we always treat Castor oil as last resort simply because of the side effects. Also, you can never be sure if it is going to work... Still, it CAN be super effective for labor induction.
We talk more about these tools and also how to apply them in these 2 videos: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html (reflexology, nipple stimulation, Castor oil)
      th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html (birth ball exercises)
Moreover, please also try to relax as good as possible! We know, it's not easy. But please try not to put too much pressure on yourself because this would just cause a lot of stress! And stress COULD prevent you from going into labor. So please, try to find ways to relax (meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, a back massage - whatever you find most relaxing!)
Finally, please note that on average, a pregnancy lasts between 38 and 42 weeks. So maybe, you find solace in knowing that with every day that passes, your baby has more time to mature which is particularly important in terms of their lungs at this stage of your pregnancy.
      We hope this helps! 😊
We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

There is no contractions n dilation n no symptoms yet . My first baby is a C-section baby in 2011. My dr. said that the only way to have natural delivery is if I induce labour naturally. They can't give me any medical induction as um a C-section mommy. N she mentioned 4days before that the space is perfect when she did my PV examination n also said baby dropped.

      Hello Anika! 😊
      Thanks a lot for commenting!
First of all, you are doing A GREAT JOB already! If you are eating dates, walk 20 min every day and even do some exercises, that's FANTASTIC! And you can see that both, your body and baby respond to your efforts, because your baby has dropped.
Now, one thing that is going to happen now is that, since your baby has dropped, your baby's head is going to put more pressure on your cervix, which is going to soften it, thin it out and - eventually - dilate. So from this point onwards, your baby actually supports your body and your efforts to induce labor naturally.
There is one thing though that we recommend you to do in your situation: try to relax! Either try yoga, or meditation or whatever works best for you! The reason is: right now, you seem worried that you won't go into labor naturally and that you are going to have another C-section. This causes stress. And stress hormones can interfere with labor hormones, which is not what you want when you try to go into labor.
The reality is, there is no need for you to be worried, because we really see it all the time at the clinic, that women who are active are MUCH MORE likely to go into labor spontaneously. And again, the fact that your baby has dropped and adds additional pressure on your cervix is definitely going to help you reach your goal!
Apart from that, we have found that exercises on a birthing ball, as well as reflexology can work really well once the baby has dropped!
In this video, we teach how to do exercises on a birthing ball: th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html
In this video, we teach how to apply reflexology: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html

      Hi there 😊,
yes, it is absolutely normal if you are already a bit dilated in week 37! Actually, that's good news because it shows you that your body is preparing for labor! 😊
Normally, we start with nipple stimulation in week 39. However, there are circumstances under which which we would start earlier. For example: if a woman would be medically induced in week 39, we would already start with nipple stimulation in week 38, in order to increase her chances of going into labor spontaneously BEFORE her induction date...
You can also find more information about when to start with the tools that we mention in our video in THIS video: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there 😊,
we can totally understand that you are terrified! But please don't be! 😊
First of all, please note that not every woman is dilating already in week 39. On average, a pregnancy lasts between 38 and 42 weeks. Maybe your body just needs a couple of more days.
Also, please note that technically, you need contractions in order to dilate. It is true that most women already dilate before having contractions, but it's not the case for every woman. Therefore, it could be that you only start to dilate once you are in labor.
      Regarding your pelvis:
We would discuss this again with your provider! We had several cases of women who were told by their provider that their pelvis is too small for the baby. But all of those who tried having a vaginal birth, DID naturally give birth to their babies eventually. The problem is that it is very difficult for doctors to determine whether that baby fits through your pelvis or not. So, this is really something that we would discuss again with your provider.
In some cases, there may indeed not be a way around a C-section. When that's the case, you always have to keep in mind that doctors do this EVERY SINGLE DAY! So, please trust that everything will be fine eventually!
But again, at first, we would discuss this matter again with your provider!
      We hope this helps! 😊
We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

As long as the cervix is not soft, at the clinic, we normally apply acupressure, do exercises and eat dates to help assist that process.

      Hi there Brandi! 😊
Yes absolutely, it IS possible that your water breaks on its own! However, only some 15% of women experience a spontaneous rupture of membranes BEFORE labor. In other words, it is not a requirement for you to go into labor.
The best a woman can do, if she wants to go into labor spontaneously, is to start preparing her body for labor from week 37 onwards, with the tools that we describe in detail in his video: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html. On top of that, it was shown that exercises on a birthing ball during the weeks before labor can be a great help to increase the Bishop score (which tells you how "ready" your cervix is for labor). We explain these exercises in this video: th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html

It depends a bit HOW DEEP your baby is in your pelvis. In order to start dilating without contractions, the baby at least needs to have engaged to put more pressure on the cervix. However, even then it might only help you dilate some 1-2cm. For the most part of your dilation, you obviously need contractions (unfortunately 😅)...

Question .. I keep seeing the information about the dates but nothing saying if it matters what type of dates, I think there are 14 different types ? Also does it matter if they are dried? Or fresh ?

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there! 😊
That's a great question! The reason why dates can soften the cervix is because dates influence estrogen and progesterone hormones which can help prepare the uterus and cervix for labor. (They also contain lots of very valuable substances, fatty acids and vitamins). That's something that dates in general have in common. It's not restricted to one specific kind of date only.
That said, in most studies we read, women consumed Deglet Noor dates. But it was pointed out that other dates work too. For example: in other cases, women consumed Medjool dates with similar results.
So, it seems that dates in general do work. However, it is recommended consuming them plain (not dried). Dried dates contain high amounts of sugar which is never good for a body, pregnant or not...
      We hope this helps! 😊

      Hi there Lana 😊,
it's always a bit difficult to say which tool will work for a particular woman, because the reality is, not every tool works for every woman. Also, please keep in mind that natural labor induction will only work if your body is ready for labor.
Of course, one would think that since you are already a bit dilated and also lost your mucus plug that your body should be more than ready to go into labor, right? 🤦 However, sometimes, it can also have other reasons, like stress hormones which interfere with labor hormones.
That said, there are several things which have helped other women in similar situations:
      1. Nipple stimulation (just keep in mind that it may not be done with a few minutes per day)
      2. Reflexology (however, same problem as nipple stimulation: it may not be done with 1 min of stimulation per point - at the clinic, we often apply reflexology for up to 30 min)
      3. Acupuncture (mainly addressing stress level; and please note: it has to be acupuncture; acupressure would not help in your case)
      4. Exercises on a birthing ball
If you have already tried Castor oil, we would not try it again! Our experience is: it won't work. We also know that you tried birth ball exercises, however, it can be a good idea to continue with them to support the whole process.
By the way: we talk more about these tools and also how to apply them in these 2 videos: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html (reflexology, nipple stimulation)

      Hi there 🙂,
it seems like you are already doing a great job! Both acupressure and exercising are great ways to support your body to dilate faster and the fact that you had a bloody show means that it is working too.
From our experience, when a woman has started to dilate, then there are three things which can be particularly powerful to dilate faster:
One is exercises on a birthing ball. In clinical studies, it was shown that women you do exercises on a birthing ball have a much better Bishop score (which is a measure for how ready your cervix is for labor). At the clinic, we see that it works really well which is probably also related to the fact that such exercises help engage the baby deeper in the pelvis and thus increase the pressure on the cervix (which can help it dilate faster). If you like, you can watch this video to find out more: th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html. Just make sure that your doctor approves that you do these exercises, because some women should not do exercises on a birthing ball (f.e. when they have problems with their spine).
The second thing is nipple stimulation because it can often help get the contractions going. Although we have to add that nipple stimulation seems to work much better, if you have had at least some contractions already, even when they are just mild ones, like the ones you have in early labor. But it DID help women get contractions going, even when they have not had any contractions so far.
The third thing is reflexology because it allows you to work on your uterus und the pituitary glands.
Of course, you can also do acupressure. However, we have found that acupressure works best for softening the cervix (it's also what clinical studies have found). However, you are already a step ahead. And so, reflexology is probably better in your case at this point.
Alternatively, go and see a professional therapist to have either reflexology or acupuncture (or both, like we do at the clinic). Acupuncture is more powerful than acupressure and can also help with cervical dilation.
We hope this information helps you!
All the best for you and your baby!! 💕💕

      Hi there 😊,
thanks a lot for your feedback!! We are happy to hear that you found our video helpful! 😊
In order to have a less painful delivery, there are several things that a woman may try. What we do at the clinic is, first of all, we start to prepare the perineum from week 35 onwards, with the technique we show in this video (th-cam.com/video/9mohlz-YUoM/w-d-xo.html)
Then from week 37, we start preparing the body for labor with acupressure, dates and birth ball exercises. And from week 38 with reflexology. We explain everything in these 2 videos: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html (birth ball exercises).
From week 39, we continue with nipple stimulation.
And at the same time, we do exercises (throughout the pregnancy) to prepare the whole body for labor and birth. We show them in this video: th-cam.com/video/2ro-ytHfEnA/w-d-xo.html.
      We hope this helps! 😊

I am 39 weeks + 3 days. I had a sweep at 38 weeks + 6 days when I was 3cm dilated, and have since been spotting, mild period-like cramps. I even lost my mucous plug yesterday. But so far, I’ve only been having irregular contractions. Does this mean I can go into labour any time now? I am so confused by this. None of the self-induction methods I’ve tried worked, I’m starting to get desperate and anxious.

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there 😊,
first of all, don't be anxious! Your body clearly shows you signs that it is preparing for labor: you are 3cm dilated, you lost your mucus plug, you even have mild contractions. So it is really just a matter of time until you go into labor.
When exactly it's gonna happen really depends on your body. Based on what you describe, it could be that you are in early labor because in early labor, contractions are not always super regular. Also, keep in mind that early labor does not always progress in a steady line. For example: some women can be in early labor for days before they finally go into active labor. You just have to give your body a little more time. But everything goes into the right direction 😊
By the way: exercise and relaxation are now the 2 most important things to do if you want to speed things up 😊
We really hope we could take away some of your worries!
We wish you all the best for you and your baby!! ❤️❤️

My contractions were still irregular…but shortly after I commented on here (that very day) my water broke on its own. However, there was meconium in my waters, so they still had to induce me with pitocin. And even with pitocin, my contractions were irregular until I had to ask for an epidural. Only then my contractions regulated and I dilated from 6 cm to 10 cm in 20 minutes.

      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there Michelle 😊,
in our experience, Castor oil is only going to work if you see lots of early signs of labor (like the mucus plug discharge, bloody show, more Braxton hicks contractions, diarrhea etc.). Before that, it's really difficult to induce labor with Castor oil. With that said, in our experience, Castor oil works much better in second or third time moms. So, it's really hard to say, if it will be working in your case. In any case, we would definitely talk to your doctor first and see what they think about it...
With that said: there are other things that may help. For example: nipple stimulation has helped many women induce labor without the need to drink Castor oil. This may be an option to explore first, before taking castor oil (and risking being exposed to potential side effects)... We explain how it works in this video: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html

      Hi there Crystal! 😊
That's because there are scientific studies which have found that women who are younger than 35 years of age are more likely to have a successful VBAC and less likely to have complications during VBAC. Because of that, some doctors don't feel comfortable with a vaginal delivery if you are older than 35 years of age.
HOWEVER: just because this was the result of some scientific studies does not mean that you cannot successfully deliver via VBAC at the age of 37. Lots of women do that without any problems. Besides, there are other factors which play a role in deciding for or against a VBAC which - in our opinion - are more important (we talk about them in this video: th-cam.com/video/-re1_KCgKWI/w-d-xo.html).
So, there are only 2 things you can do: either you talk with your doctor again and convince them that you want to have a vaginal delivery if AGE is the ONLY reason why they want you to have a C-section. OR you find another doctor!
We know, it's a very difficult situation for you... We know many women in similar situations... Please don't feel discouraged! ❤️
GOOD LUCK and ALL THE BEST for you and your baby! ❤️

Thankyou so much for the information, so I am currently 37 weeks pregnant with my 2nd, I went into spontaneous labour with my first at 38 weeks, however with this pregnancy I have had 2 consistent days of elevated blood pressure ( I also have white coat syndrome so that does not help things at all) and had an ultrasound which showed high PI, but the baby is growing fine, my labs and blood work are fine ( no protein in urine andno GD) my BP is perfectly normal when taken at home, but my OB insists on induction at 38 weeks ( which I amnot in favor of), what can I do here? I want to atleast wait until my due date for things to start naturally.

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there 😊,
it's a difficult situation and giving good advice is even more difficult. 😬 We know many OBs who would recommend an induction in a case like yours, particularly in case of a high PI value. From their point of view, it is totally understandable, because in theory, there could be complications. So, from their point of view, it's like "better get this baby out as long as everything is fine".
However, on the other hand, a high PI value does not necessarily mean that there will be complications of any kind. Also, it seems that everything else seems to be fine too. And most importantly, your baby is growing well. Therefore, the question is: how high is that risk of complications really?
So, there are two things you can do. First, find another OB and get a second opinion! It's always good to hear a second opinion before making a decision. Second, you have to make a decision. It's your body, so, if you decide to wait until your EDD, then that's what you decide. Just keep in mind that your doctor will tell you that with every day you wait, the risk of complications could increase. But that risk COULD be manageable, if they offer you regular checkups until that date. So that's something you could discuss with your OB.
But again, personally, we would get a second opinion first and then take it from there.
Unfortunately, that's all we can tell you without knowing the specifics of your case... Ultimately, it's up to you to make a decision... Still, we hope that our point of view helps a bit...
We wish you GOOD LUCK and ALL THE BEST for you and your baby! ❤️

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello Sonia ❤️,
we can absolutely understand that you want a natural delivery!
In our experience, the two most important things that can help you in the situation you are in, are exercises and relaxation. Here is why:
Relaxation helps keep your stress levels in check (stress hormones can block the release of labor hormones which is why relaxation is so important). In fact, the problem is often that stress levels increase at the end of the pregnancy, particularly in women who fear that they might be induced if labor does not start. It's like a vicious circle...And relaxation can help a lot here. This can be a massage treatment, yoga, meditation. OR: acupuncture. Actually, acupuncture is what we would do at the clinic to help a woman relax at that stage.
Exercises on the other hand, are the best preparation for the body if you want to go into labor spontaneously (IF your doctor allows it). If going for a walk twice a day does not help, then you might wanna consider doing different kinds of exercises. The kind of exercises that we can wholeheartedly recommend (again, IF your doctor allows them) are exercises on a birthing ball. We explain how exercises on a birthing ball work in this video: th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html.
Apart from that, we can really recommend acupuncture or a combination of acupuncture and reflexology, IF you can find an experienced acupuncturist to prepare your body for labor. If you cannot find a professional therapist, you can also do acupressure and/or reflexology yourself. (In this video, we teach how: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html). Just keep in mind that the effect of a professional treatment will be much stronger...
And then finally, if any of this helps you get at least some contractions, then nipple stimulation may help intensify them. That's because women who had at least some contractions already, are much more likely to have even more contractions from nipple stimulation. In this video, we explain how it works: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html
We really hope that any of this helps you go into labor spontaneously. ❤️
All the best for you and your baby!! ❤️❤️

      Hi there! 😊
You are MOST WELCOME!! We are very happy to hear that you found this video helpful! 😊
Low back pain and lower abdominal pain can certainly be signs of labor. In fact, it could be that you experience contractions (although they could be both, false or true labor contractions).
If you like, you can try these 2 tests:
      1. Take a warm bath (20min) and see if the pain goes away. If it does then you have probably just experienced Braxton Hicks or pre-labor contractions (which are not true labor contractions).
      2. When you feel the pain, sit in a chair, lean back and try to palpate your belly. Normally, you would feel parts of your baby, such as baby's head, back or legs etc. But when you feel a contraction (both, true and false ones), then the belly feels tight across. So, check if - during that feeling of pain - your belly feels tight across or if you are still able to identify parts of your baby...
If - after these tests - you think that the abdominal pain does not come from contractions, we recommend talking with a doctor. Normally, there is no reason to worry. However, as always, it's better to make the call to be on the safe side...
      We hope this helps! 😊

Okay, thanks for your reply! This sounds like you may be in early labor. In that stage, your contractions are mostly mild. However, this can change very quickly.
The most important thing to look out for right now is a change in pattern. Once your contractions come in closer intervals, get longer and become more intense, then you know that your labor is progressing. Unfortunately, how fast you will progress very much depends on your body. This is different for every woman.
By the way, there are things which a woman can try in such cases to speed up the process. Based on our observations, the 4 most effective tools in such a situation can be:
      1. Nipple stimulation (just keep in mind that it may not be done with a few minutes per day only)
      2. Reflexology
      3. Acupuncture (please note: it needs to be acupuncture in your case; acupressure will normally not work in such a case); acupuncture can work particularly well when you are very stressed which may hinder labor hormones...
      4. Exercises on a birthing ball
Of course, there is also Castor oil. However, personally, we always treat Castor oil as last resort simply because of the side effects. Also, you can never be sure if it is going to work... Still: it can be a very effective too to go into labor...
We talk more about these tools and also how to apply them in these 2 videos: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html (reflexology, nipple stimulation)
      th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html (birth ball exercises)

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there! 😊
Please note week 38 is still early days! 😊 Keep in mind that the most important factor which helps you dilate, are your contractions. Because of that, many women don't start to dilate before contractions start. Other women may start to dilate before contractions start, however, it does not make any difference because they too need contractions eventually, in order to dilate to 10cm.
Therefore, at this point, the more important question is: is your cervix soft? The earlier your cervix is soft, the earlier your cervix can start to dilate. Because of that, we normally start preparing the cervix for labor from week 37 of a pregnancy onwards, for example, with dates and acupressure. You can find more details in this video: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html

please note that we have come across several cases when moms were already a bit dilated in week 36. Some of them still only gave birth to their baby around their due date (others went into labor in week 37).
We have also come across moms whose baby was measuring about the same at that stage of their pregnancy. For example, recently, a friend of us just gave birth to a 9 pound baby at 40 weeks (!).

      Hi there 😊,
we don't know what your doctor told you exactly, however, please note that at this point, there is absolutely no need to be worried!
At this point, you are only 39 weeks pregnant. The fact that you are not dilated does not mean anything. You can go into labor with 0 dilation and still have a normal delivery.
So, if your doctor told you that you need a C-section just because you are not dilated at this point, we strongly recommend that you go to another provider!
There is no reason for you to panic! On average, a pregnancy lasts between 38 and 42 weeks. You have not even gone over your due date at this point.
The other thing is: if what you experience are contractions, then you clearly see that your body is getting ready for labor. That too is a positive sign - no need to worry.
That said, in general, several things could help induce labor:
In this video (th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html) we explain several tools to induce labor.
Moreover, birth ball exercises could help (th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html)
On top of that, the right sitting position can also support the whole process (th-cam.com/video/K5uxfr0YJ_E/w-d-xo.html)
That said, we would not worry too much! Your body is clearly preparing for labor. Moreover, it is your third baby. In such cases, there is normally no reason to worry that you don't go into labor...
We really hope this helps! 😊
We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there Geraldine 😊,
please note that on average, a pregnancy lasts between 38 and 42 weeks. So, maybe, your body just needs more time to go into labor.
Moreover, it can happen that dilation does not progress in a steady line. And so, sometimes, women dilate to, say, 3cm, and then they "get stuck". They don't progress for some time. And only a couple of weeks later, they go into labor.
So, please be patient! At least, you can see that your body is preparing for labor!
Also, keep in mind that there are many benefits for your baby, if baby stays in there for a little longer:
      - The baby gains weight and strength
      - The sucking and swallowing reflex matures (which your baby needs right after birth)
      - The baby's lungs mature
      - The baby's brain continue to develop.
      And many more things.
That said, there are a couple of things which have helped other women go into labor in similar situations.
      1. Nipple stimulation (just keep in mind that it may not be done with a few minutes per day)
We talk more about these tools and also how to apply them in these 2 videos: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html (reflexology, nipple stimulation)

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there! 😊
Please note that week 36 is very early (actually too early) to go into labor spontaneously. A baby is normally fully developed from week 37 onwards. In fact, on average, a pregnancy lasts between 38 and 42 weeks. Therefore, labor normally should not start before week 37, ideally it starts after week 37.
So, with a little bit of patience, you can certainly go into labor spontaneously! But to give you a bit more guidance, you can watch the video that we posted today! In it, we show you how to calculate your chances of going into labor spontaneously. Just keep in mind: your body will only do so, once your body is ready for it. And this is most likely not before week 37...
      We hope this helps! 😊

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there Ana! 😊
No, you are not missing any information 😊! So, in order to understand what is going on, you might wanna have a closer look at this picture here:
      www.shutterstock.com/de/image-vector/drawing-show-pregnant-woman-cross-section-209872393
On this picture, you can see that the cervix is something like the "bridge" between the uterus and the vagina. One end leads to the uterus (the "internal os") and the other end leads to the vagina (the "external os"). When we talk about dilation, we are mostly interested in the dilation of the internal os because your cervix is going to thin out - which means that the external os disappears anyways (well, kind of...).
Therefore, we are surprised that your doctor mentioned both because it's just confusing women. Normally, you are only just interested in one number: You are 2cm dilated. Period! 😊
We hope this makes sense and helps! 😊
We wish you all the best for you and your baby!! ❤️

      Hi there! ❤️
Poor you!! But please don't be discouraged!! ❤️
First of all, please note that on average, a pregnancy lasts between 38 and 42 weeks. And it's very difficult to "force" your body to speed up things if your body is not ready for it!
Second, please note that one thing that we often observe at the clinic is that women who "overdo" it with exercising often achieve the exact opposite of what they hope for. Of course, we don't know if you are overdoing it. But you don't need to do workouts including squats to make this work. Going for a 30min walk per day and, in particular, exercises on a birthing ball can be much more efficient to achieve your goals (we show you such exercises in this video: th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html).
Also, you seem to put a lot of pressure on yourself to make this work. Please don't do that! You achieve the exact opposite of what you hope for. Trust that everything will work out just fine! There are 2 more weeks til your due date. PLENTY of time for your body to prepare for labor.
What we normally do at the clinic is, we start preparing the body for labor from week 37 (acupressure, dates) in order to help the body soften the cervix. A soft cervix is the most important step before the body can go over to further change the cervix (effacement and dilation) which a woman can support by things like reflexology, exercises and nipple stimulation (and sometimes Castor oil - if her doctor approves). We teach these things in this video: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html
Most importantly though: try to relax! Don't put pressure on yourself! Things are gonna be fine! Also, keep in mind that things can sometimes go really really fast - labor-wise!
      We hope this helps! 😊
We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby! ❤️

      @CareAboutLittleOnes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there 😊,
if you at least some contractions already, then it is normally easier to intensify them with the help of nipple stimulation. So, this could work. Just keep in mind that it may not be done with a few minutes of nipple stimulation per day only...
On top of that, these tools have also helped other women:
      1. Reflexology (same as nipple stimulation: it may not be done with a few minutes per day only)
      2. Acupuncture (this can work particularly well if your stress levels are really high; and please note: it has to be acupuncture; acupressure would most probably not help in your case)
      3. Exercises on a birthing ball
Of course, there is also Castor oil. However, personally, we always treat Castor oil as last resort simply because of the side effects. Also, you can never be sure if it is going to work... Still, it CAN be super effective for labor induction. Just discuss with your doctor first, if Castor oil is the right tool in your particular case...
We talk more about these tools and also how to apply them in these 2 videos: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html (reflexology, nipple stimulation, Castor oil)
      th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html (birth ball exercises)
As for the bloody show: it is always a bit difficult to say if certain signs that you observe mean that you will go into labor very soon. It could definitely be the case, given the signs that you experience. However, we also had cases of women who had a bloody show and did not go into labor for another week or longer.
By the way: if your "bloody show" continue for a longer period of time, we would have a quick chat with your provider, particularly if it contains lots of blood. You don't need to worry! Just let them know because it can be an important piece of information for them, given your overall pregnancy case...
So again: nipple stimulation COULD work really well since you had some contractions already.
      We hope this helps! 😊
We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

      Hi there! 😊
That's good news! Because it shows you that your body is preparing for labor! In fact, the earlier your cervix is soft, the faster your body can start to thin it our and dilate it (which often happens at the same time), unless of course, you have a prolonged pre-labor or early labor phase (in which dilation does not progress initially). But luckily, those cases are exceptions and not the rule...
So, hang in there! Your body is preparing to help you finally meet your sweet little baby! 🥰

Hello both of you. According to my doctor there was already 2.5 cm cervix open from 3 days ago i get little brown blood very little and i don't get any labor pain and labor symtomps yet. Health of baby is all good. Can i wait for open cervix without pain or choose medicine for labor?

      Hi there 😊,
in general, your body is normally able to do all the work on its own, without any medicine for labor. Therefore, if both, you and your baby are well and if there are no other concerns from your doctor that would require a medical induction, then there is no reason for you to go through an induction in order to induce labor.
Personally, we are big proponents of letting things start on their own! 😊
We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby! ❤️

      Hi there! 😊
Unfortunately, it is absolutely impossible to tell you when you will go into labor based on any signs or symptoms that you see. No one can tell you that!
We sometimes meet women who go into labor within hours after the mucus plug discharge. And then we meet other women who have to wait days and even weeks before they go into labor after the mucus plug discharge.
We are very sorry but no one can tell you that!
All the best for you and your baby! ❤️

I have been 4cm dilated and 50% effaced for two weeks! I’m scheduled for an induction this Friday (the 3rd) but I want to go into labor before then 🥺

      Hi there Brandy ❤️,
please don't be discouraged just yet! Unfortunately, sometimes women go through a period of prolonged pre-labor or early labor. When that's the case, dilation can go really slowly...
However, there ARE things which a woman can try in such cases. Based on our observations, the 4 most effective tools in such a situation can be:
      1. Nipple stimulation (just keep in mind that it may not be done with a few minutes per day)
      2. Reflexology
We explain more about these tools and also how to apply them in these 2 videos: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html (reflexology, nipple stimulation)
      th-cam.com/video/UgrbOc4cebY/w-d-xo.html (birth ball exercises)
      We hope this helps! 😊
We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth and that things go much faster for you from here on onwards! ❤️

I’m 40 weeks as of today and I’ve tried everything. Castor oil, nipple stimulation, exercise ball, hand expressing milk. At my appt my doctor said my cervix is still closed and not soft so idk what to do at this point to help my body and cervix

      Hi there! ❤️
Poor you!! You sound disappointed - understandably... 🙁
Here is the problem: as long as your cervix is not soft, it is very very difficult to naturally induce labor. The cervix is connected with your uterus and as long as it is firm, it would contract "together" with the uterus. Only once it is soft, contractions can change it by helping pull the cervix upwards (in other words: by helping to thin out and dilate your cervix). And don't worry: these things can sometimes go really fast (just saying, since you are 40 weeks pregnant already...)
Therefore, the first step has to be to soften the cervix, which we do with dates and acupressure. On top of that, studies also show that nipple stimulation could help soften the cervix. We show you how acupressure and nipple stimulation works in this video: th-cam.com/video/8rehbupwhzY/w-d-xo.html
We normally start soften the cervix in week 37 of a pregnancy. However, of course, his can still work if you are week 40.
      We hope this helps!
We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby! ❤️

      Hi there 😘,
just to make sure that we got this right: they told you that you are in labor and that you had to be admitted to the hospital but then they did not admit you? 🤔

@@CareAboutLittleOnes thanks for replying dear❤️ no, I didn't agreed to admit to.. Becz I was all ok that day, and even I was all alone to the hospital that day nobody was with me as I visited just for a check up. I thought to admit when I get into labour, but even till now am not feeling any pain or water break what should I do now? Should I go to hospital now? Or wait till my labour starts? Am totally confused.

      @@dhritik7384 Hi there ;-),
okay understood! Well, normally, they only admit you if you are really in labor. Because of that, there is normally no point in going to the hospital. However, if you have any doubts, you can always talk with your midwife...
Anyways: please don't be discouraged just yet! On average, a pregnancy lasts between 38 and 42 weeks. Everything within that range is considered "normal". Not sure how far along you are right now...
That said, there ARE things which have helped other women in similar situations:
      1. Nipple stimulation (just keep in mind that it may not be done with a few minutes per day)
      2. Reflexology (same as nipple stimulation: it may not be done with a few minutes per day only)
      3. Acupuncture (acupuncture itself cannot induce labor; however, it can help in cases when a woman cannot go into labor because of high stress levels because acupuncture can really bring your stress levels down. So if you are really stressed, acupuncture could help)
Please keep in mind that with all of those tools it is a matter of your body's readiness for labor. If your body is not ready for labor, then none of these tools will help because they are natural tools to induce labor...
Moreover, please also try to relax as good as possible! We know, that's not a simple task right now. But please try not to put too much pressure on yourself because this would just cause a lot of stress! And stress COULD prevent you from going into labor. So please, try to find ways to relax (meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, a back massage - whatever you find most relaxing!).
Finally, keep in mind that things can sometimes go really fast. A woman may not see any signs of labor whatsoever. And then a moment later, she is in labor and a few hours later her baby is born (we have seen many such cases). 😊
      We hope this helps! 😊
We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤
