    You really know how to make’em fly man! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻More kv’s=more sky! I had one of these holytons and their as tuff as nails! Yours held up extremely well I’d say🤪. If you want it broken though, I think your “mini me” knows how to get the job done!😆 what a hambone he is! It’s great that your teaching him about all this fun stuff. When my kids were little, they’d break their Rc’s all the time! Wasn’t as much fun for me after a while, because we would end up with a bunch of broken stuff , and I didn’t always have the time or money to get parts and do repairs. That may be the reason they got out of it. They’d always say, “did you fix it yet?”, think they hated waiting for them to get fixed.😩 These days they still like Rc’s but they know they are gonna have to help fix them or learn to, if they want to keep playing with them! As always bro, fantastic video !💯💯💯⚡️⚡️⚡️👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼🏎💨

      Thanks so much, man! Yes he is a hambone! That’s why I usually give him either the Holyton or an HBX, cuz they are strong! This one broke pretty quick for some reason. He blasted the Kraton pretty bad on that thanksgiving video I did lol.
      He’s starting to get really good, though!!

    Hey man quick question im still looking into the axle problem with the px9200 the heat shrink advice you gave me worked great to prevent the springs from distorting and coming off i havnt given up i been looking and looking for a set that might work but its hard to be sure by looking online i even thought of trying to put in traxxas diffs cuz some of the axles the offer look nice and beefy but my question is have you ever tried hardening like heating up and quenching? Do you think that might have any worth while effect on the stock axles im even bending them now at the wheel pin hole just from torque no jumps or crashes

    Awesome video and nice work, do you know what pitch the pinion/spur gear are? 42p is what I think, I've got a deerc 201e that's already brushless from the box but am putting a better brushless motor(esc and servo are 3s already) in and am curious about switching to more teeth(my stock is a 17 tooth) but am worried about not being able to adjust lash between the pinion and spur.... What are your thoughts??

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      The brushless ones like this one come with a 22T. The pitch is a MOD 0.6, which may equate to 42p, I can’t remember. You also can’t adjust gear mesh on these, but I wonder if you could use a motor mount from one of these to fit on yours and use a 22t. The 201e is still a 1/10 (really 1/12 realistically) isn’t it? Or is that one of their 1/18 scales?

    Im not sure I noticed a difference in performance other than more breakage. Would you say the higher KV motor was more fun than lower one? I am just about to buy that

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! I do feel that the 4000 KV is a little bit faster, but I feel that I have much more fun with the 3300KV. It definitely has more torque and does flips easier.

      Sounds like a sweet setup and glad you like the vids!
      If i remember right, that pin that keeps breaking is the same size as the 2x10 pins you use for the wheel hexes? If so, some harder ones maybe will help since it’s a standard size. Could also find some stock metal material the right diameter and cut to length. Also, with the faster motors, the spring that retains the pins can stretch out under high speed and cause the pin to fly out. You may be able to put some heat shrink on that joint to help retain the spring. Another option is bringing all the parts separately to a machine shop and see if they can be hardened, or even remade with stronger material. Hopefully this helps!!

      @Brianauthelet-u7z you’re welcome dude! 😊. My opinion is that those axles won’t work. Looks like either the stub is too long or the dog bones are too short.
      Ya I wish aftermarket support was better for sure. Minus the axles, these are ten times better than most WL toys platforms and you can find upgrades for those all day. Hopefully the harder stock and heat shrink will help!

    Hey derby, love your videos...your son makes it even more enjoyable. I need your opinion,A: granite 3s blx ($260) Or B: i have a 60amp esc, 3660 brushless laying around, all i need is the servo ($15) and a ($100)9200[px, enoze, deerc] which would you do if you had to choose???

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Mr Danny!! Max is the star of the show! (Even though he’s been in time out a lot today) lol. Behind the scenes can be nasty lol. We don’t have a Granite yet, so hard for me to say for sure. The granite is probably a bit bigger, but the $260 version is brushed so probably not as fast. If you want to drive like we do, I would probably do the brushless conversion. Both cars will break, but the px parts are much cheaper than the Arrma parts we’ve bought for the Kraton so far. What brand motor/esc do you have?

    • @MrDannysotelo
      @MrDannysotelo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah timeouts are necessary but as long as you still enjoy a good bash he'll be ok. So i have a surpass hobby 3300kv/60amp combo i had from bangood. But my granite is the brushless blx i got a good deal for $260 lol. But after watching your videos it looks like lots of fun being smaller, lighter...where i can tell the granite is very beefy and with that weight runs through rather than wild (which looks fun). And then i went to compare parts ($$)...wow. So i figured get a good opinion from you because i can resell and get a fun car i can feel good about abusing with less $$ worry. Also, you think the 3660 will fit, i see its pretty tight with the esc. Thsnks

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrDannysotelo gotcha!! Ya I imagine the granite parts are a bit more lol. The 3652 motor fits easy and there is definitely 8mm more room for the 3660 but the surpass hobby esc that I removed in this video was too big and I had to mount it on top of the chassis brace instead of down in the frame like a good little esc lol. Yours may not be as big as that one was.

Because I'm really hoping to upgrade mine like you did everything has failed and the upgrade I bought does not work and your link works but the product is not for sale no more on amazon.
    I just need some help with mine and I just want to know what pinion gear you used and what type of ESC and motor that's all.

      Mine was the Hobbywing 3300kv motor (this video was actually a 4000kv but the 3300 is better). It’s a 60 amp esc. 22T motor pinion is the only size you can use.
      What kv is your motor?

    • @DerbyCityRC

      What f you did a motor upgrade, depending on what you did, it should help tremendously. This upgrade I did here barely works with the stock battery at all.
      If everything is stock, it will probably make a small difference, but likely nothing too substantial.

      @@DerbyCityRC ...I just got a battery upgrade. I bought the 2S Urgenex 50c 2200mah lipo batteries. The 50C discharges fast enough to allow the 45a ESC to use its full ability without having to get a better motor. It can maintain the full 7.4v all the time with no lag. I can upgrade the motor at a later date. But, I got 2 batteries for $30, and its torque and top speed have increased by a good 5-10% without burning up the stock ESC or the motor.

      My shafts I think were the same size, but they switched to the pinion gears being pressed on the motor shaft instead of held on with a set/grub screw. (Maybe you got lucky or they switched back). I just opted for the new pinion. That’s all I remember anyway as this project is around 2 years old lol pressing the gear on the new motor can damage the motor without proper tools for it.

      Thanks! We’ve already got over 100 videos with no plans of slowing down!
      Are you talking about the motor drive shaft? It is 3.175mm, which is essentially 1/8.” If you’re talking about the actual driveshaft of the car, I haven’t measured it. Lol

    Where did you get the spur gear?

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got it from Pxtoysrc.com, but honestly sent back to stock plastic and have never broken or stripped one.

    What size pinion did you use?? I tried a 25&26t pinion and it don’t touch the spur

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s actually a 22T, but needs to be a 0.6 MOD.

      I’ve had trouble repairing those before. I was able to find my own ring spring at one point but I was lucky to find that. Here is a link to axles. Hopefully that helps.

      Thanks bro!!
      Looks like you have the wrong teeth pitch on your pinion. It needs to be a MOD 0.6, and yours looks like a MOD 1, which is more common. If that’s the 92xxE, then you need a 22T MOD 0.6 gear

      This is that same type of car. Slightly large 12th scale, but they claim 10th

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! You do have to upgrade the battery. The ones these cars come with will work, but you have to turn the throttle down on the remote, or it will shut off the ESC and not run. Needs a higher C rating.
