    Hey my Guy.. awesome video. Did I Jinks the operation lol was the other other day I ask you about the aluminium chassis.. lol.. I might start off with the px toys upgrade motor for starters cause I'm jus starting with the car.. bit later I'll buy your motor ezrun that looks like fun.. but hey would think of trying the all aluminium upgrade you think it would last a good time?.. I'll copy your body method but I don't have shoe goo here where I'm from I have flex seal product think that would work also?? I'm for a South American country call guyana 🇬🇾 we located in the Caribbean between Suriname 🇸🇷 and 🇧🇷 also Venezuela 🇻🇪.. but any how I love your content.

      @DerbyCityRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the aluminum knuckles that I’ll be trying very soon. I think they will be good. A flex seal type product is one of the methods I’ll be using on one of my car bodies in a video very soon! That’s a lot of country flags! Very cool! Very glad you like my videos! Keep checking back, we make two videos every week! 😎😎👍👍💯

      That’s awesome!! I’m very happy with these cars! Can’t expect them to survive my constant abuse lol. I have links to the car and upgrade parts in this video description. If you use those links, the vendor gives the channel a small kickback so feel free to use those if you want. Also feel free to ask questions. Thanks so much!

    Bashing on concrete with high jumping will break and axle I guess on any car. Pretty cool vids

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the concrete certainly adds to the “durability testing” of my videos lol. Axles have always been a weak point on that car (however plenty adequate for the stock brushed setup). Glad you like the vids!! 😎😎👍👍🤘

      @@DerbyCityRC I ended up using parts from the back on the front LOL, it worked, I can get the screws out of the back ones, the front is hard (gotta take the U joint apart) to get to the back side of it ,

      Lol nice!!

  • @Boogie_the_cat

    That's my only issues with the shoe goo drywall tape method , it takes a long time, and for larger vehicles, you're using two bottles of shoe goo, which is $20 by itself.
    My Kagama body is only $35 on Jenny's RC, so it isn't super cost effective \ time effective. I now use TV underbelly tape, which is way cheaper.
    Get the thinnest kind you can, and apply a little heat gun afterwards, especially around the edges of the tape, and probably add a little shoe goo to the edges of the body, otherwise dirt will get up in the edges of the tape and cause it to peel off.
    3 days !
    My shoe goo must be old, because it starts drying before I can even spread it all, and it's fully dry in 12 hours.
    Damn you Amazon!

  • @sandiwiezycki2224
    @sandiwiezycki2224 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Rcgc dude it looks like you run your cars until they lose tires the body held up but pretty much the chassis didn't or the tire.
    Oh by the way nice catch and great tips think I will have either my boyfriend or my neighbor do that to my car bodies.
    Keep coming up with these videos and as soon as you post them I watch them I just love them keep it up

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So happy you like my videos! I always look forward to reading your comments!! Yes the shoe goo is a great way to strengthen the body it seems. Some of the other methods I’ll be trying will be easier and quicker, but may not hold up as well. We will find out. This drywall tape and shoe goo mod took about two hours, but is def worth it!! Hopefully some of the other quicker methods i try will be almost as good!

    Im making a papier-mâché mold so seal and then use as a mold to make spray foam bodies. Sounds silly but they’re cool and you can carve them into any shape you want. Fairly strong and super light. Enjoy and get crafty. Not everything has to be $1000 to have fun and I have those too.

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another awesome video :) Ever find a replacemnt chassis for the one that split on this car? If so, please share where you found parts as we got this car for my son and I'm sure we'll need parts soon enough :)
    On another note, I ordered the 2995 and we've had some fun with it. Kids have managed to break it not doing anything crazy but it's been cold here so I'm sure that's a big contributor. Haiboxing has been awesome and is sending replacement parts and I've ordered some extra as backups. Think a hobbywing 3660SL would fit in this car? Keep up the amazing work!

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks!! Ya I got this chassis from Pxtoysrc.com I believe.
      Yes the coldness makes things break much easier!
      What part broke?
      A 3660 would probably fit. I put a 3652 on mine so yours would be about 8mm longer. Would also have to upgrade the esc and transmitter of course. Don’t forget a 16t pinion gear for the new motor too!

    • @jrice3100
      @jrice3100 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@DerbyCityRC Yeah it was in low 20s fahrenheit. The chassis hole that holds the suspension arm pin split and the retainer held in with the 4 S020 screws. Haiboxing is sending a new chassis and the retainer. They said it'll be very involved to change the chassis but I know a guy that made a great video doing just that :) Too bad the battery compartment isn't a bit bigger on the 2995. I'll order a 3660 and let you know how it goes. Might be a bit - the boss says this new hobby is adding up a bit too fast!

What do you recommend? And do we need to get a esc and receiver because the current stock one it a esc with a built in receiver?

    I actually had my neighbor reinforced the desert journey body and he only did with the basically I think it's called screen tape and he did the same thing to the holyton body he has the shoe Goo and that tape but he didn't exactly want to put the sugar on it until he saw what would happen to the body if it wouldn't break or something like that it was all good but thanks for all these tips dude

    When you added the larger wheels did you have to mod anything else? Are they foam filled? Great channel! Learning all the RC things!!

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not. If there were tougher axles available I would get them, but can’t find any!
      The bend kind of easily if you jump it and the larger tires don’t help. But the only thing modified on that car, of course, is the electronics and I think I had the better shocks on it for this video.
      Glad you like the channel!!!

    Also where can I find a replacement body shell for the Holyton? I like the truggy shape/design but can't seem to find it as just the body shell. I'd like to paint it myself ideally, so clear would be great, but I can just paint over the design if need be.

      I’ve gotten my body shells for it from Pxtoysrc.com.
      If you click on the different model numbers that start with 92xx, any of those bodys should work.

    Love the videos! My son has the wht/blue power holyton and has trashed his outer body shell and is looking for a replacement. I noticed the pariahna one in the link you provided is a 1:12scale. I thought the holyton was a 1:10 scale?
    How does the pariahna shell fit the holyton? Is there any mods you have to do to get it to fit? Also, is there other outer body shells that you have found that fit the holyton? Looking to upgrade the esc and motor as well. Where do you recommend purchasing these from and the best upgrade combo for the blue/wht power holyton? Thank you for the cool video. My son really like the content.

      Thanks! Yes the pirhana shell fits over perfectly if I remember right. Other shells you might like at PxtoysRC.com.
      Here is a great quality motor set I recommend: amzn.to/3lq3mQB

      They have a lot of parts for them on Amazon, but I can’t find the control arms there right now.

    Do you have a long term report on how the body reinforcement worked (or not)? Thanks

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I tried a few different reinforcements and this shoe goo and drywall tape held up the best. I didn’t drive this car a ton more after this, but when I did, it got sent!
      I don’t believe it cracked or broke at all. I still have the body somewhere but these cars are mostly parts cars now lol
      I’ve put the motors on other projects.
      I don’t do this to bodies anymore due to the time it takes, but if I get one I really want to preserve, this is the method I would use for sure.

    Flex seal actually works well along with spray on plastic dip. Just use alcohol and scuff it so it will bind good. Flex seal is light too. I do many repairs like this myself and many have held up. Shrink tubing can be used to shrink around your tie rods and steering links too that’s another little hack that works well and is light. I was using foil tape but started using gorilla tape and it’s super strong as well. Just as the video maker did use something with fibers in it. 3m makes great spray adhesive that’s another great option but May get brittle in the cold. Nice work on the vid.

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man. Something similar to flex seal is one of my methods coming up. Do you just use a scotch brite pad to lightly scuff? Too much and you would scratch into the paint.
