Dude if I'm not mistaken, CVT transmission takes two filters, one inside the oil pan and another on the outside of the engine.

I'm gonna look to do it to mine over the weekend. Thanks

Nice video. As you said there aren't many videos showing this online (I only saw 1 other some time ago).
However, as someone else mentioned, you should have changed the filter in the transmission cooler housing as well.
If you were going through all thus trouble, would've been best to do it.
    Good job anyway.

About to attempt thIs myself. I have seen people access it topside. Any idea how to access it from the bottom. I plan on doing exactly as he did in he video. How much more needs to be removed?

Thanks for this. Im about to pick up the parts and do mine tomorrow. The auto parts told me that my transmission has 2 filters (main and auxiliary ), i see you have one?

Does this work for the 2012 GT with the 2.4L in it?

I've had an easier time sourcing parts for European cars, sheesh.
Thank you for this video, it's a lifesaver. The cynical comments were funny as well.

Running good after all this time with the Valvoline trans oil?

Plan on doing this soon on my 2013. As far as I know there is also a fine particulate filter in the oil cooler.

@@binks7870 I have used Mitsubishi cvt-j4 up till now, but will be switching to Amsoil synthetic CVT fluid.

One of my pan bolts snapped as well but I didn’t have a drill to extract it on time before leaving. Are you experiencing any leaks? Or are able to extract it after putting the transmission pan on?

Quick question, in the CVT, is it a chain or belt? and is it reliable?

    • @Dkce
      @Dkce  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A type of chain.
      All in how you drive.
I would say 80,000 miles no problem

Barely go over 55 with the AC on? I regularly do 80+ on west Texas roads in the summer with my 14 ES.
