- Gregory Kanter and Eric Dinowitz hike the long way up Mount Marcy from Adirondack Loj to Lake Colden and spend the night there before heading up past Lake Tear of the Clouds (the source of the Hudson River), up and over Mount Marcy and back down to the Loj. New to backpacking, we brought too much food to fit into our bear canister, and the famous Yellow Yellow made a meal out of what we left out during the night. We have since learned proper food storage and much else.
Would you take this trip if you were Vice President in 1901 before those bridges were built if the President at the time had been shot?
Was this prior to the mandatory Bear Canisters for the High peak region ? Could have helped you guys a bit :D Great video though! Thanks for sharing
Did you get sick about 2 weeks after the hike? I would not have washed off your energy bar in the creek. Too much of a chance to get giardia or cryptosporidium which causes extreme vomiting, but usually doesn’t set in until about 2 weeks after ingestion.
Eric didn’t get sick but as you can see we did almost everything wrong. More of a historical document to see how far we’ve come.
1:14 good way to get giardiasis
