Just wanted to share in case anyone has children and looking to relocate to Charlotte. Schools seem better in Huntersville, Concord, Dilworth if in Charlotte area. The best schools are in South Carolina. The nearest city I found was Fort Mill, which has a really good school system and only 20 mins from Uptown, South End, etc.

Thank you check out apts on the west tyvola street and the Ayrsley Towns area.. sycamore at tyvola and apt around there. They are pretty reasonable priced and about 15 mins or less from the airport

I’m from New Orleans and I went to college in Atlanta. I feel like I need something completely different and most people go to Houston or Dallas, so I want to do the opposite lol.
I’m from nola and totally agree with that sentiment which is why I moved to Charlotte about a year ago lol. I have a couple of different opinions than in this video, but I agree with alot as well!

Would you say Charlotte is diverse? I’m considering moving from Tennessee. It’s not really diverse where I live and I hate it. I’m originally from Atlanta so I’m just looking for diversity. I don’t want to be the only black woman at my job lol. It’s so isolating and lonely.
It’s extremely diverse, almost like half / half
Some areas in south Charlotte are more than $1000 to $1300. Even a young lady from up north said that south Charlotte is expensive. Matter of fact, a lot of people say that.
Hey yes that range is def accurate. If you stay in northlake which is a nice area too but further out. Rent is around $1000

Hi Ebony! I appreciate your video . I’m new to Charlotte , I’m 26 years old single with no kids and I work in finance . I’m just wondering what the people my age do ?Also where do the guys ages 25-34 hang out ? I’m one of two black folks at my job in my department so I haven’t had much luck there lol .
I’ve lived here for about a year and am still trying to figure that one out😅 There are definitely some what I refer to as “bottle girl spots” lol, that have the hookah and blasting music. Like, this place Cloud. Then on the flip side, there are tons of eateries and breweries and bars that are super cute…but you’re not finding groups of black guys in there lol. As far as places where black guys just hang out (like restaurants/bars/lounges) and you could potentially meet someone..I’m struggling with that one lol.

Hey thanks for watching. Honestly I would say not really from what I’ve seen. We do have few good Caribbean, African, Vietnamese, and Italian spots. Uptown and metro area is def for young professionals.
What areas would you recommend for a single mom with school aged kids to live near Charlotte? Even if it’s the suburbs. I’m looking for good schools ! I WFH so I don’t need to commute.

Belmont, Fort Mill, Ballantyne are also worth looking into.

lol really. CLT is more expensive than stl but the jobs in CLT pay more.
Charlotte definitely had some bad areas, just like any other city. Make sure you’re always paying attention to your surroundings.

Hey I would say a fair amount. I’ve noticed a lot of people from the Northeast ie philly, NJ, NY, Boston, etc move to Charlotte
I live in a very small conservative town in nc and hearing someone say charlotte is safe is a shock to me honestly cause people down here are scared of Charlotte 😂
I think Charlotte is safe but also depends on what area you stay in

The reason you feel safe is probably because that city is known for holding Christianity. Christians aren’t murderers. That’s why I wanna move there, because they’re God-centered to the point where it’s normal to ask whether you go to church. I believe God’s Holy Spirit is in that city more than anything and that’s why they’re successful. Coming from MA, it’ll be refreshing to see a good percentage of black people.

I would say Southend. It’s walking distance from several shops, bars, restaurants, parks, and public transit center. I visit that area often.

@@ebonysoblessed thank you all for your comments. So I did check out a few apartments in my price range In South End and dilworth. I definitely think dilworth will be more affordable, however I am considering plaza mid wood also. On my next visit I think I’ll Airbnb in those two neighborhoods to see how it would be to live there. At this time I don’t think south end may work because of the pricing

No $1k+ it’s in south Charlotte, south end, mid wood, noda, uptown. north lake. These areas are nice... East Charlotte is hood and university city is college students. So it depends on where you look and want to live.

Hey I would say you have to research where the apt is located, parts of east Charlotte is not the best for ppl moving to Charlotte. If you are looking for affordable apts I recommend northlake or university city area is a safer neighborhood

@@nihjah7 hey i took a look. i recommend. anything in the UC area is pretty safe. the traffic from uptown to UC is not the best around 30 min drive.
