    Thank you for the information. I'm also from New York city, actually from the Bronx. Only two train 🚆 station stops from Yankee Stadium. I currently live in North (coastal) Carolina, borderline South Carolina. I've been wanting to move to Charlotte, NC, for a while. Thank you ✨️. I am so grateful.

      So true! I lived in Raleigh for about 6 years and loved it. Charlotte is just a big Raleigh lol. More neighborhoods (and takes a whole heck of a lot longer to drive all the way around it) but very similar ;)

    I am a young attorney in Los Angeles, and I greatly want to make the move to NC, especially the Charlotte area. I am looking for a more family oriented place, with kind people and less superficiality. I hope I can make the move there in the next couple of years.

      You will absolutely find that here. I can't from NY (another 'keeping up with the jones's kind of place) and I live it here. It's a place where I feel like everyone fits in. And from a personal and political standpoint, everyone's voices is heard. It's a pretty cool spot

    I’m from Canada and am looking to move to the U.S….taxes, cost of living, inflation, low wages and general ineptitude of our government are all starting to get really annoying….As a Canadian, the pros of this city really make me feel comfortable with the idea of Charlotte. Seems similar to the vibe I had where I grew up. Thanks for the upload, great content!

    As a transplant from California you did a great job of speaking to the area. One thing I’d say is not correct is planting. Look around there is so much lush greenery, and flowers. I was never able to grow in CA, and here everything seems to take off. Also, mosquitoes really aren’t a big deal. We had those too in CA.
    One thing add, we have an amazing Farmers Market off exit 6 on the 77.

I will add that depending upon your specific needs, there is also the option to go to Duke Hospitals which is even more specialized if you are needing that. It is 2 hours from Charlotte, but is an option. My husband has had some severe health issues and has been able to tag team between his doctors in Charlotte and those in Durham! Ma’am, with all due respect, I was born in NC and am 34, Charlotte has seen multiple tornadoes! Maybe not HUGE TORNADOES, but in fact Mecklenburg County has had tornadoes.

    • @livingincharlottenorthcarolina
      @livingincharlottenorthcarolina  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is true and it has happened, but considering what most of the country considers a tornado, we don't have them. We have small ones that may lift off a roof, and few and far between. Unlike many of my viewers in the midwest who consider a tornado something that will flatten a town. I have seen 2 tornadoes in my 20 years in NC. Both were so minor they barely caused tree damage and lasted a few seconds ;) So this statement is more to ease the minds of those that see tornadoes as something devastating ;) Thank you for watching and for your comments!

    Hi Lindsey, my fiancé are moving from Chicago. I was wondering what are the top places we should consider renting in and what are areas we should avoid. Based on your other videos South End and Noda seem like our front runners. Thanks

    • @livingincharlottenorthcarolina
      @livingincharlottenorthcarolina  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are SO many great spots. It all comes down to the vibe you want and what you would like to spend monthly. Both of these locations are great for young professionals because by renting there you are walking distance to many things such as dining, bars, entertainment and night life. Both also give you access to the Light Rail. The downside is the price. You should expect to spend $1300+ on a studio apartment (in the newer apartment buildings). That being said, you also have the option to rent a home or apartment just outside these areas and still have easy access to them with a walk/bike ride/short drive. There are certainly locations around these 2 that might not float your boat so if you go outside those areas I'd say you'd probably want to look farther into the city vs outside of. I'd be happy to chat with you and find a bit more about what you're looking for and see if I can point you in the direction of other areas to consider :) 704-559-9169

If you want to make sure you are limiting your traffic on your drive you may want to look into. Matthews is a great spot to start. Have home proces started to decline in charlotte and if so on average, how much so far?

    • @livingincharlottenorthcarolina
      @livingincharlottenorthcarolina  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Prices have not declined in Charlotte, but we have seen homes selling for less than list price. Mostly because sellers are listing their homes for far more that they should wishing the market was still like it was in 2021 lol. But on average the market is still increasing by an average of 6% over the year. Not as noticeable because we had 2 years back to back of 20% increase year over year, but due to the amount of people moving to the area and still having a shortage of homes (not enough to meet demand) we are still seeing as many homes selling week over week as being listed week over week. It is projected that these prices will continue to consistently increase year over year. As we see (hopefully) rates drop in April/May 2023, we will see more buyers.... more buyers increases demand which further pushes prices up. So yes, buying sooner than later and just refinancing when rates drop is a great option. We will not see a 2008 happen, there will be no market drop out because of the way in which this "housing boom" came about (heavy demand due to low rates vs heavy demand due to 'Adjustable Rates' that were all called in and collapsed). Hope this helps!

    • @livingincharlottenorthcarolina
      @livingincharlottenorthcarolina  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Shishio28 Some that I have seen are selling for about $10,000 under if they have been sitting a little bit. Personally instead of offering less for price I encourage my buyers to ask for seller paid closing costs. Being the home will appraise for list price (I check before advising this) the buyer can get the home AND get up to 3% of the purchase price back in CASH at closing paid by the seller. This can help pay your closing costs down and/or help you with any updates you may want to make to the house immediately. VS paying a little less now and only altering your mortgage payments by a few bucks a month. Strategy is def back in play in this market (Vs selling your left kidney to get a house like 2020 and 2021)

    What are best areas for good public schools?

    • @livingincharlottenorthcarolina
      @livingincharlottenorthcarolina  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are many. Some in the city and many in the suburbs. The areas of higher affluence have the better schools however there are some areas in Harrisburgh, Concord, Davidson, Fort Mill and many others that have good schools. The challenge is not all schools K-12 are equal in their ratings. Could have great elementary and not as good HS rating. It all depends on the area. In addition. The Equity of an area also affects the school scoring so if there are more families of low financial aptitude the school rating is lower. I'd be happy to help you find the right area to meet your needs in schools and a home

      great question! while it isnt horrible, there are still several areas of he city with really bad congestion. Because Charlotte is a driving city, few use the mass transportation (and the areas serviced are restrictive) so unless roads are expanded (difficult in some of the more congested areas which are in the older neighborhoods and have high concentration of residential living) there wont be many changes. Traffic is less going and coming from outside the city than moving about in the areas between I77, 74, 277 an 485 (the lower V of Charlotte)

      I will add the storm in Asheville area is a 1000 year storm meaning the area hasn't seen a storm like that in 1000 years (maybe more). It would be unlikely to see it again in our lifetime
