I compare the Titleist U505, TaylorMade Stealth DHY & Mizuno Pro Flight Hi Utility Iron driving irons against each other. These golf clubs are great options to replace a hybrid or rescue but easier to hit than a long golf iron. If you want to hit tiger woods stingers off the tee then these are the clubs....great fun!

Srixon is the best utility iron out there. New one coming out looks even better.

I’ve tried both Mizuno and Titleist, but for me, Mizuno is the best option as it is the most consistent and nicest to look at. I’ve put it in my bag as my 4 iron replacement and works unbelievably well off the tee and for approach shots off the fairway.

The Titleist for me, just feels better and gives a more consistent flight. 3 iron with stiff shaft.

Nice review Michael...I bought a Hogan # 3 UiHI with a 18 deg loft and this works real well...Easy to hit off the hard turf fareways..Leave my 3 wood in the truck on this course....

Looking at your dispersion the TaylorMade is perfect for you. But thr Mizuno is in the bag because it looks great. Haha. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Very nice review 👍. U505 & DHY are very promising. Unfortunately they do not have steel shaft available. Therefore, it is very interesting if you do comparison on #4 iron among Cobra LTDX, Callaway MAVRIK 22, Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal, Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal PRO, Wilson D9, and TaylorMade Stealth Iron.

Agree 👍. Those #4 irons are 18-19 degree in loft. Very forgiving and steel shaft are available.

I’m playing a Srixon ZU85 just this year. I know Srixon has 1 generation newer out and an even newer generation on the way; but for me the ZU85 just works. I’ve tested the 3 you compared and for me the I strike Srixon much better and a lot more consistently. The Srixon feels softer as well. Since you tested the TourEdge Exotics Utility Iron earlier this year can comment on how it compares to these 3 please in terms of ball flight, feel, and distance? Continue the great content as for me you provide very usable insight. Thanks.

Very impressive really the way you hit that DHY Taylor Made. Even though you don't like the looks, you can't deny the results: definitely superior to the other 2. The black head of the mizuno is gorgeous, but if I could it an iron like you do, I wouldn't care about the looks of a golf club.

You should have put the Srixon ZX Utility in with this test. It is very solid and great looking. Always in tons of tour guys bags.

Have the Srixon Zx 2i and the u510 4 iron as my utility irons. Would be interested to see how the Zx stands up to the clubs you tested.

Different animal. The Fli-hi might be comparable but the Titleist he tested is the ‘game improvement’ utility iron. They too offer a ‘players’ version, though it was suffering from supply chain issues when I was testing utility irons about 6 weeks ago so availability may be an issue. I’m unfamiliar with the 510 version you mention, I game the U85, predecessor to your ZX, in 22.5* & 19.5*. While not quite as forgiving as this Titleist or the Stealth, a more versatile club allowing more shot shaping and very usable out of rough. These game improvement clubs hit it long and typically very straight but kinda suck out of rough or even a divot, ime. The only utility I liked as much as the Srixon is the Callaway X-Forged UT. Once I junked the oe Recoil shaft from Srixon, had a Ventus Blue HB9X installed, it’s so much better it would take a ‘magic club’ to get either U85 out of my bag.

My choice would be none of the above 😂
I’m a ‘looks matter’ which eliminates the Titleist & TM. I have played a couple rounds w/TM 790 UDI, which I assume has been replaced by this Stealth UDI. The 790 version had much greater visual appeal. I carry 2 utility irons, both Srixon U85 @19 & 22.5, essentially replacing my 3 & 4 irons. Like your demo, the TM I found just incredibly hot face. I didn’t test on Trackman, where a 5 mph faster ball speed is stunning given same shaft length and I think you said 1* weaker loft. I find it too shallow landing angle/low spin, it won’t hold most greens.
I did also play the Fli-hi for 2 rounds. I didn’t mind the black finish but I love your conclusion that the black hides the back weighting. I was just liking how the black framed the matte silver face. I liked the club but much like you I struggled with consistency. I had a couple that I just launched and then a seemingly similar strike would somehow lose 15 yds. I will say it was a damp morning round which may have contributed to the flyers. I’ve never experienced this from my U85 in same conditions.
While I’m sticking w/my U85, especially since re-shafting w/Ventus Blue HB 9X, the one utility that I was REALLY impressed with was the Callaway X-Forged UT. I’ve honestly never been a fan of Callaway products, especially their irons, but that utility iron is really solid feel and sound, also versatile enough to allow an easy low power fade, high cut approach, low stinger draw. It even hits decent out of sticky fescue rough. I’d highly recommend you do a demo vid of that club if Callaway will allow.
Keep up the great content 👍
