The dude who posted this video is lost and confused. 1. He wants performance on a small engine and a basic auto transmission? He went on to mention how better other car brands' models are but failed to realize these said other car models are on a totally different pricepoints and categories... 2. He complains of interior and luggage space on a "sub-compact" crossover? 3. He criticizes the hard seats and plastics inside the car on a budget friendly crossover? I believe he totally misses the point of what the Ecosport drive intentions are? Peace!
I do forget sometimes that it has a swing gate trunk door, but it does work in Florida where I live where you rarely have to parallel park and the little SUV is so easy to park, but the size is perfect for me and I an SE 2020 trim in the 1.0 engine. No Blind Spot Information System, but blindspot mirrors from the factory. No Factory Navigation, so I use my phone since I have an IPhone 11. It was previously a rental in smoke metallic with only 2182 miles only when I got it on May 10, 2020. It was rarely used. The gas mileage could be better compared to other SUV's, but it gets me from point A to B and that's all that matters, but now that I reset the trip odometer and the MPG odometer, I'm getting 27 MPG on average since it said 22 before and I knew I had to drive better and it was wrong. Right on par with MPG sticker price MPG. Its 29 in the highway and 27 in the city or an average of 28 miles per gallon according to the window sticker. I put gas recently and I get around 300 miles with a single tank as of now.
The swing gate is perfect for my husband. He had brain surgery and it takes years for the skull to completely heal. He had bumped his head when leaning in to lift something from he hatchback we owned. As for the tire repair kit they give with the car, please let your mechanic know that you put that flat fixer spray junk in your tire. That stuff can be dangerous for the mechanic unless he/she is aware its in it.
I got this car for 2 months, is an awesome car. With the second row folded down and put the trunk mat at the upper level, you got a completely flat cargo space area. Perfect car for a young couple without kids :)
I don’t think it’s ugly, I like it. and the swing door is great for a short person; and I don’t mind it either. It’s got enough power for me; and I’ve had mine to 70mph and it rides great. The tranny is slow to shift up (especially the first drive of the day: and that’s “taking it easy”); but they are an improvement over the lemon focus double clutch train wreck. I’m getting 33.7 mpg as long as I’m alone. Most of the new ones do have high mileage bc FORD OKed them for loaners (I think the employees drove them almost exclusively: another bad idea). But I do like mine and plan to keep it (as long as it’s under warranty). Also they don’t scrape on high driveways, potholes, and they run right over debris in the road without a scrape.
I wrote a very long post about this car, and lost it, so I'll summarize: You will see lots of these still on the road in 20 years. They're way better than they get credit for. I'm so glad this was sold in the US. I bought an '18 SES. The sportiest version ever made. The critics hated it, but the people who bought them love them.
Makes one think of the Chevette and other small cars from the early years. There are people who are just looking for reliable transportation and a small car payment. Exactly, we are not all looking for vehicles loaded with a bunch of electronics.
Well let me say I just brought one 2018 sea dark burgundy. The guy in the video is absolutely right about the transmission if you floor it and don’t understand the mechanics of this car you will think you have a tranny issue. I took mines back and they had to explain that to me. I said ok and I’m still driving it. What get me about the post I’m replying to is he said “20 years later they will still be n the road.” That’s 🔑 and that’s all I care about longevity and durability. Fuck speed I need a car that’s going to get me from point a to b and last a long time.
@@jacobrzeszewski6527 Yes, the 1.0 front drive engine is pretty bad. Ford's doing a recall on them. The 2.0 4WD version is much better. Chain drive, not belt, and the drivetrain is sturdy, too. I would only get the 2.0 engine in this car.
It's a better deal than my 2010 focus. My car has no bluetooth, no screen, less legroom, no seat cushioning, manual seats, no cruise control or steering wheel buttons for that matter... it's not awd (only fwd) and its 0-60 is 2 SECONDS SLOWER! Plus, it cost $17,000 in 2010 ($23,000 today). The ecosport is an incredible deal.
I AM a car person. I bought one for a winter/bad weather car and it performs very well. Not fast, but fast enough for what it is. My fast car stays out of the salt and snow, so I can enjoy it when the weather cooperates, and it stays rust-free.
I was going to get a car, but Ford discontinued their sedans. I get on the 2020 Ecosport SE with a 1.0 engine around 32 miles a gallon since I'm not driving like crap. If people want to speed up, they can go around me.
I have the 2020 SES AWD, and have literally no complaints. I'm sure the 1l 3-banger is a disappointment, which is why I insisted on the 2l 4-banger. It gets up to speed just fine, so long as you're not looking to impress someone with a throaty roar and treadmarks. NOTE: I was driving a 2022 Challenger as a rental before I bought this EcoSport, and didn't feel like I was being cheated of anything. I get what you mean about the seats, but I guess my ass likes a bit of firm support, because I'm all good in that department. You noted that the trunk isn't level with the folded down seats - there are ledges set in the two corners behind the seats to insert the trunk flooring panel which makes them just a hair off of level (I'll be adding a 1/2" plywood underbase to mine to make it more rigid for that purpose). You also failed to talk about the built-in technology, which is better than the pricepoint suggests: Proximity lane sensors, backup camera with turning radius lines, SiriusXM (paid subscription needed after 90 day trial), strong cellular connectivity, including a few solid app streaming, on the SES, keyless entry and start, and an option for remote start, and even without that, with the free FordPass app, you get remote start, door locks, horn-light bursting, and GPS locator anyway. No, it's not a big car for hauling all of your junk across the Alps in record time, and the MPG is a little disappointing, but there's one great thing about it being kind of unpopular: There are a LOT of used ones out there at decent prices with low miles, and they have a really good reliability rating. A new one will last you 10 years, easy.
@@JVette01 I mean, I figured the point of the video wasn't so much to slam the car, but to explain why a lot of people (and you) don't like it, which is totally A-OK, especially since you pretty much let us know, before clicking to watch it, that it was going to be just that. Also, I've only owned mine for about a week, so there's plenty of time to find that pit of rage at the center of my being and focus it on this particular inanimate object. :D
I don't understand why this vehicle gets that much hate. Yeah it's not for everyone but for older folks like my grandmother, it's perfect tbh. Been almost a year now and no issues so far, pretty simple and small little crossover. Got it for way under sticker because these are always on discounts. We have the 2L Titanium AWD.
@@foxxyguy2681 my 2015 impreza seems like a better buy then this for a younger kid. Im only 19 and so far its been a great car. I had a friend in high school who had one of these that didn't seem too bad until you looked at what he was paying for it
Loved my 2020 2.0 SE AWD so much I bought a 2021 S 1.0 FWD for my wife. These are awesome little vehicles. Both engines have plenty of power. They have no problems on the tollways at 80mph and both can hit triple digits no problem. The acceleration is peppy enough for any situation other than racing a sports car. We've raced the 2.0 vs the 1.0 and they are really close with a hair advantage to the 2.0. In city driving the torque of the 1.0 feels more peppy off the line however at 55-60 the 2.0 runs a little smoother. The 1.0 gets about 1-2 mpg better if more city driving but on the highway at speed they are almost identical mpg. A great reason to buy these over other crossover suvs is the true 6 speed transmission versus the other companies belt driven CVT. This potentially can be more reliable and the 2.0 SE trim gets 2000 lb towing capacity. You won't find that with the other comparables. I have 6x12 aluminum trailer that I load up two adult ATV's on which maxes out the 2000 capacity and it tows pretty well. I have a F250 for anything larger but the ecosport is nice because its nimble with the trailer and you can get into tight parking at the trails where the truck cannot. As far as the small trunk you can actually stack a lot of stuff in it. A family with two kids is going to have no problems using this daily for shopping and general life. I've sat in the back and its surprisingly comfy at 6ft tall. You don't want a 6'4" person in front of you but for most people its going to be just fine. The S trim does loose out on the nice dash lcd and has no touchscreen but that is the $ you are cutting. The SE with sync3 works well and has the moonroof. The SE with AWD is amazing in snow. I have taken it in our pasture with 8-10 inches of snow and a set of blizzack tires and it got through it just as good as my F250 with snow tires. The swing gate is great in the winter when the shocks on lift gates get sketchy and you only need the lift gate to drop on your head once to realize the value of the swing gate. My only gripes are that the roof line in front is low. You find yourself ducking to see stop lights and with the sunvisor down it can block even more. Sunvisor almost needs to be cut in half. MPG average is 28-29 on both models. So not as great as my chevy spark was (39-40mpg) but its also a lot more car. No spare tire or place for one. In my 46 years on the planet I have only had one flat tire but I still get nervous on a long trip. Also no great place to put your phone. I leave it in front of the shifter but sometimes that gets in the way when you put it in park. Also the 1.0 oil filter location is retarded. The 2.0 is a breeze to change. Other than that we love both cars.
I think your being nit picky my self ….just saying I see nothing wrong with it girlfriend has one it works for her perfectly most people don’t want a car that goes 0-60 in 2 seconds and does 90 on the highway obviously it’s not for you lol
It is a bad car to have it . One year 50000 ml transmisison already causing so many problems . There is a serious gear problem in this car and so many other problems happened too often to hate the car . Park aid prob, tranmission, no leg room in back seat. Takes so much longer time Shifting gears. Not a car for a long run. Now i am stuck with it.
I've driven my 2020 "4WD" "Echo-Sport" S for a year now. Starting with the interior I'd have to say it has a really good interior. Soft touch dash and good gauges and switch gear. Seat are comfortable as well. Id like for auto makers to ditch the center divider compartments and go with a column shifter or push buttons. I like to have more leg room for my drive leg. But the Ecosport is decent in that regard. My standard radio glitches alot and freezes on blank screen. I have to shift into reverse and then drive again to get it to reappear. Annoying. Ride comfort and driveability are very good. Acceleration is decent. On the outside the standard S rims are actually really good and the fit and finish was excellent for a small SUV. The Ecosport runs well and I get 27 mpg most of the time. Being able to buy it for under 20k was great seeing hat we didn't need a larger vehicle.
We have this as a rental vehicle while ours is being fixed. The styling is nice. Lot better than some cars that are so boring you yawn when you get in. As far as size thats YOUR problem not Ford's, Don't go hating on a car because it's too small. Move on to other cars that are larger. The only thing that threw us for a loop is where the swing gate location is; very odd placement for a door latch. As far as legroom, it's a small car if your tall or a larger person this car might not be for you. Fit the car to the person. Engine it's a less expensive car, dont expect a turbo charged or 6 cylinder car. It's built for the emissions and minimum mpg thats its suppose to achieve. Don't mash the gas pedal to the floor to achieve power and the MPG is actually reasonable. For those of us who dont care for all the bells and whistles this is fine. You're not going to get them in a 20,000-25,000 car anyways. Fit and finish - what you expecting for the price?
I have the diesel one and I like it. Over here we get a full sized spare wheel mounted on the rear door. I actually like the way it looks and handles. Its heavy for its size and has a good feel to drive. The motor could have been a bit more punchier.
I rented one today what a honking piece of dogshit. Pretty unsafe merging onto highway with absolute no power to accelerwte to speed. What in actual fuck was ford thinking. For city driving it's probably pretty decent. For any kind of longer milage drive no bueno
Saw one of these on the road yesterday and thought it was cute as a bug, thanks for this review. I think the styling is just fine, the interior looks decent and if you fit at 6'5" and still pulled the seat forward? Awesome. It seems like a terrific little trooper for getting around town, parking in tight spaces, throwing groceries in the back seats. Then I priced out the Titanium AWD version and its coming up on $30K. Um, noooooo.
Noone hates this car its loved all over the world. I traded in my 2013 ram 1500 and I hated that dodge this tiny car tows 2000 pounds so I can pull my 14ft trailer with both my dirt bikes on it I have the 2020 2.0 engine. I drive it up snowboarding it's great.
I got a 2021 AWD SE a year and a half ago and love it. Got it just to save on gas going back and forth to work but like driving it around because it’s kinda fun to drive. Does surprisingly great off road and in snow and has quite a bit of clearance underneath but definitely lacks get up and go. The little 4 cylinder only has 160 hp so not gonna pass a lot of people on the highway. Definitely not any leg room in the back seats so probably should have been made a 2 seater instead. All in all it’s a pretty decent car for the price.
I bought one new in 2020 as a new 2019 and haven’t had any issues. It works great for me. I see tons of them on the road even though Ford here in the US supposedly discontinued them for not enough sales. Could’ve fooled me with how many I see everywhere I go. Sure I wish there was more cargo room and wish the rear gate lifted vertically but honestly have gotten used to the swing gate and it’s fine. My top of the line Titanium trim model was just over $30k with every option. Can’t find that very often these days. Been very reliable so far. 33k miles
I've got a 2021 S 2.0 .. It's been all right. Keep in mind when buying a subcompact SUV it is a compromise. Not much sport not much utility. I do have to say the Ford Ecosport 2.0 L has more utility than the competition. Heavier vehicle with a bigger engine. In January I pulled a Jeep renegade and a Hyundai Kona out of the intersection next to my house after 10 snowfall.
My girlfriend has the same car. Loaded with features. Seems pretty roomy, too--she is moving, and she fit a ton of stuff in it. The 123 hp 3 cylinder is decent as far as pep. Runs and drives fantastic. I really like the car.
Love this car! I had mine for a bit and love it so much! Named it boaty after my love of SpongeBob. It’s a pretty good car and love how small it is! Even if I decide to have a kid, it’s perfect for the one and then to upgrade later on if you decide to have 2. I just chose it for my first car. Love the style and how sporty it was! 💖
This car is perfect for me. It will get me where I need to go, especially in snow. If your expecting huge cargo space, lots of rear passenger leg room, race car acceleration capability, this car is not for you. Move on. This doesn't look like a race car and obviously is not made to race. We get it.
@@JVette01 At 6'-5" unless you have a mini van or bus, the passenger seated behind you will not have leg room. LOL! So what vehicle does a petite little guy like you drive? 😁
I have a 21 ecosport SE with the 4 cyl. Using it for work commutes is awesome. They kick ass in the snow. Thats no joke! I'll drive this before any Chrysler product!!!
I bought this car almost a year ago and got pregnant soon after. Now I have a car seat in the back and now the passenger seat is in the dashboard to allow the car seat
Just bought this car and the get up and go is awesome, not problem with transmission, steering is great! I traded my 2013 escape for the 2021 s, really if the guy is a car salesman he shouldn't tag on it. I have a micro farm and plenty of room for my animal feed. Great car for a couple with no children. Gas mileage is awesome.
I've recently bought one, I think it's ok, certainly not ugly, good on petrol, handles very well on corners, nice high driving position, comfortable. People were saying because it's high, it will roll on corners, no roll whatsoever, and I can take corners as well as the next man. It suits my needs, as I wanted a easier access drivers seat. Yes, no spare is a ball ache, but you can always buy a space saver and keep it in the boot.
I got this baby, ES version, a couple of months ago. Took a 1500 mile road trip and I have absolutely no complaints. No problems with passing the grannies or racing the younguns. I LOVE this vehicle inside and out. Stop being so negative about it. It seems like you were looking for stuff. No vehicle is perfect, but you had a very weak case.
@@JA-jb4ti Actually, he was, but I don't take any real umbrage from it. I disagreed with some of it, agreed with other things, but as he said, it's his opinion. I think there's a difference between reviewing a car you have never used, or only use rarely, and doing so for one that you're relying on for your daily life. I'm the latter, JVette01 is the former, and that's pretty much where our difference lies.
Id like to know, if you drive this like an economy car is aupposed to be driven how good of mileage can you really get.. in perfect conditions and with 93 fuel i can gwt over 40 in my 1.4l turbo encore, and its a little bigger than the ecosport.. i would think with a 1 liter you might be able to get 42-44?
@keithbellair9508 I don't believe the 40mpg claim. Sorry. Most people lie about their MPG for some reason. The GM 1.4 turbo engine may be quicker and with better fuel economy, but that engine is junk. Those engines break down anywhere from 40,000 miles on up. Timing chains. Plus, the Encore/Chevy Traxx's AWD system isn't near as aggressive as the EcoSport's. The EcoSport supplies torque to all 4 wheels from a stop, with no exception. Encore/Traxx will only engage the rear differential when it detects slip, and it is slow to respond. EcoSports are better in snow.
I'm sorry but I love my Diamond White 2021 Ford EcoSport SE! Love, Love, Love it! Its phucking awesome! Its stylish and rugged at the same time! Anyine calling this compact off roader is just jealous of it!! I'd buy another one if I could!!
Don't know why anybody would get the 3 cylinder version of the EcoSport. I have owned a 2018 Ford EcoSport for over a year now. I got an SES model with just over 12,000 miles on it for 22K. I'm loving this car, personally. The SES variant has AWD, a 2 liter 4 cylinder enginer at just over 160 horsepower, and a sporty, comfortable interior. It's not the most powerful vehicle in the world, but the AWD capability helps during colder weather, and it has such a small footprint and tight turning radius that I can park it just about anywhere. I think my favorite feature is the side opening trunk door, I just think that's really cool. Too bad they didn't bring the spare tire mount to the states, though.
I have the 3 cylinder version and it has more get up and go than my 4 cylinder version did. My 3 cylinder has ecoboost and my 4 cylinder version did not.
That a bunch of crap. I own a EcoSport and I’m six foot tall 230 pound construction work and I’m very comfortable in my EcoSport and it handles like a dream and I have owned big trucks and SUV’s and by far this is my favorite vehicle I have ever owned and I think it’s a very cool looking vehicle. So I think your observation is crap.
I love mine, never had any issues, great gas milage enough room to be comfortable, if u want a family car for small family, it is perfect. But not for a groen family, it's a great starter car for a first time car buy, this is my 2nd one. I upgraded to the 4 wheel drive, icall it the mini suv
@@JVette01 but there is absolutely no room in the back seat for anyone , luckily it’s just me and my husband and occasionally our granddaughter rides back there but not often if I had to put any adults back there they definitely wouldn’t be comfortable I don’t think
Even though I have a family of 6, I spend 98 percent of the time in the car alone. This is not bad especially in SES form. Had one for a couple weeks driving between Reno and Victorville. It really was not that bad.
Why didn't you put your comments in perspective? Compare it to an Buick Encore or Chev Trax? The Ecosport fits right in with those...the Buick has actually less leg room and cargo volume. After looking at any of those...I gave up on compact SUVs
I have an encore.. it was an impulse buy but i say, im 6’ tall and you can get 3 adults my size in it perfectly fine. I got a new 55” tv in the back fine and i can get 40 mpg in the right comditions, i run 93 and the performance is real good, with the turbo it can climb most hills without even downshifting… i think its a fine car, especially since it was only $19,000 new.. and the stereo is great and has 6 speaker, leather trim, 6 spd with manual mode, apple play, awd, xm radio, alloy wheels. Plus with the fold flat front seat you can get 8’ long 2x4 inside the car.. plus it has roof rails so you can put all kinds of stuff on the roof too…. Whats not to love?
I owned a 2021 for a little over a year. Absolutely terrible on gas. Most of my check went into refueling. I’m 6 ft even and I was comfortable but if someone was behind me I had to sit like Mr. Incredible and even still they didn’t have much leg room. The interior is a cheap hard plastic. It has a nice stock sound system though. I’ll give credit where it’s due.
I own a '20 2.0 awd and a '21 1.0 fwd. Both get 28-30 mpg on average. I consider that pretty good gas mileage considering its a suv and one is awd. I'm 6ft as well and a a full size adult behind me is cramped but for kids or a woman behind me its ok. Main complain is the low windshield line and you have to duck sometimes to see traffic lights that are close.
My wife and I just bought a brand new 2022 Titanium last week. The Ford EcoSport Titanium is absolutely just awesome. Everyone should own one hands down. :) Vancouver BC
Guys who sell cars rarely talk about what is truly important. Does it hold up? Can the car be easily repaired? I have the 2 liter and was quite happy to learn that it is an engine used by many vehicles. This means great aftermarket parts availability. These guys also don't stress the cost of operation. I do wish my Ecosport had the mileage that my Focus had. Unfortunately, car bosses decided that American car vendors only sell SUVs now. Still the mileage is better than many. I've had my 2019 Ecosport for 3 years now and it still runs like new. 0-60 in 10 seconds is fine with me.
My 2018 SE 2.0 4x4 has been absolutely fantastic. Sure, it’s not super fast, but that’s not the point of this suv. No quality issues to speak of at all. I can get 31mpg on the hwy on a good day (not bad but not great) Also, I’m currently at 32,000 miles. I honestly think your negative opinion isn’t justified in this video. The 2.0Lt engine in S mode is a lot of fun and passing at speed is no problem. The rear boot has never been an issue and in some cases, better than a top hatch. I will say, the stereo sound quality kind of sucks lol. Lastly, working on this vehicle is a breeze, cost effective and of course you can find Ford parts everywhere. Having said all of this, I’m keeping mine for a few more years even though It’s paid for. For what it is, I give it a 7 out of 10. Not GREAT, definitely not BAD.
I like mine. I have the 4WD Titanium. I cruise easily off road and in the snow. I love the lane assist, manual shift (tiptronic from the lever) heated seats ect. I have a little universal car top carrier and have been all over the US in this little thing. True its a little ugly but it makes it that much cooler. Oh and I have the app so I can remote start and locate the little bug wherever it is.
I don't see a reason to buy this over a cheaper, more attractive, more reliable, longer warranty and more feature-rich korean competitor. When I see these, Chevy Sparks, dodge darts etc I can't help but think this person did zero research.
Owned a '17 chevy spark LT and had 80k trouble free miles out of it. Bought it for $14k and sold it in 2020 to carvana for $11k. 38-42 mpg with that car and took many family vacations in it at hwy speeds with no problems. Great car in my opinion. Then bought a '20 Ecosport 2.0 awd and later a '21 Ecosport 1.0 for the wife. Both have had no issues, get 28mpg on average, were good in the winter, and those years have the standard automatic transmission (not the problematic DCT trans that the focus/fiesta/ecosport of previous years had). Now I will agree that anything Stelantis (dodge, ram, fiat, jeep) I stay away from as a general rule.
I had its sibling the fiesta and it was a lot like this my only reason for getting rid of it actually was the lack of power. I see why people hate on these but my only gripe is Ford replaced the Fiesta with this then charged l almost 10k more for it. It’s just too overpriced for what you get.
Different countries, different perceptions for vehicles. This is a respected car here in India😂. Especially with that 1.5l diesel with 6MT that you can easily tune to almost 180hp and 222 lb ft torque with just an ECU remap. Pair that up with sort of good handling and driving dynamics, it is a fun car. It is a fast car here in India where driving above 120 km/h even on highways is like knocking on death's door (you never know when a motorcycle or a cow pops in). This is a rare kind of American car that is not for americans. Also it seems like they love to whine and complain about anything that does not fit the norms or is out of the usual😂. All in good spirits.
I was leasing a 2019 EcoSport S and traded it in to buy 2021 EcoSport SE. It's perfect for me. There is nothing about this car that I hate. You keep saying "people hate this car." I think YOU hate this car.
Have owned one for six months and we hate it! Already have a transfer case oil leak. Have had to change two tires already. Get any dirt in the wheels and it dribbles like a basketball. Just a bad car all around! The gas “mileage” rating is total bullshit. It gets about 15 mpg max. Have to floor it to take off. Shifting does suck. Bad design, and basically useless for kids taller than 4 feet.
They are definitely a decent enough vehicle, but relative to other offerings in its class, it just doesnt do anything as well its competitors in terms of power/mileage/fit and finish. My wifes 2.0 L eco does average 28-30 mpg though, primarily in town driving. Sport mode only!
Love love love my 2020 Ecosport SE 4WD. I drive WV interstate through mountains at 70-80 mph and have been on 5 huge road trips since 2020. Love it! Sport shift is great. You have to know how to drive. No fear going out in any snow storms. High clearance is great since we don't shovel snow. I just clear a path to get in and back it out. It's a tiny monster. Find was stupid not to include at least a donut spare. And we use a top carrier if we pack fishing and beach gear plus luggage to go for 8 days to Outer Banks twice a year.
I like how the trunk opens. I often hit my head with the lift up-open trunk. Also it drives like a small car not like an suv Like chevy sonic or an accent.
i LOVE my 2018 Titanium EcoSport! my only gripe is poor gas mileage. i like the look, wanted a small SUV. I love the door instead of life.. i broke my right shoulder in 3 places so lifting is difficult for me. So one size, model doesn't suit everyone! i love this car! it is only me...and i zip around in it...love all the features, got the larger engine and it goes. i do not need to drive 90! not sluggish. So if you are interested...listen to other reviews before you decide.
My mom got this car because she wanted a car. She didn't do any research. -_- Now, she complains often about gas mileage. Her car Run 20 liters of gas for 100 Km. 62 Miles for 5.28 Gallons. Idk anything about Cars so if someone could tell me if this is good or bad?
Acceleration is ok (I installed a peddle max on mine), it's almost zippy. Not sure what was wrong with the one in this video. The only item I despise might be the measly 13 gal fuel tank. I get the same "range" at 40 mpg with my Focus (34 mpg). Also, if I was Ford, I might have offered the SES AWD with the 240 hp 2.0 ecoboost
Another thing. My parents have the 3 cylinder. I find the steering wheel smallish and that you must have both hands on the wheel, especially in turns! There’s something odd and rigid about the steering that I’ve never felt in any other car. Use both hands or it can get away from you. Did you sense that too?
You keep saying that’s bad that’s not bad that’s actually not too bad it’s bad no that’s not too bad really I own one and it is amazing for towing behind your motorhome and traveling in the cities in the town where you don’t need a big car has plenty of power. I have not had an issue. Super easy to tell everybody. I know likes my buggy just like you said it’s bad it’s not bad that’s actually not too bad. Oh that’s pretty good why don’t you make a statement of a scale instead of your back-and-forth thank you, but for towing behind a motorhome because it’s from the drive is amazing nice light car.
We bought one 1 year and 9 months ago, it’s been in the shop for a total of 7 months and they are about to put in the third motor. It only has 26,000 miles.
Honestly this is just an embarrassment of a vehicle. The car is neither Eco nor Sport, Ford offers a much better subcompact crossover in Europe under the same platform (Puma). And this was out since 2012 and was released in the US in 2018
So I Owen a 2019 ford ecosport eco boost se and I love it I have not had any transmission issues what so ever.the sports mode is amazing no issues with that at all .. everything works perfect in my ecosport
My first car was a '70 VW Beetle with a 46 hp aircooled engine, and the places that it could go was really amazing, just the crappy heater was my 'only' gripe.
I have my car in my garage due the oil pump low level indicates.so I took it home went to check problem car shut off never stated had to tow it mechanic Tells me there's a recall so I went to ford dealer they say there's no parts available till March or april. oApril. Car is in my garage since June 2024.
These cars have no spare. So make sure n buy triple A or make sure your car insurance has road assistance. But d eco sport we purchased new has been a reliable gas efficient great at hauling stuff kinda vehicle. ( put seats down in rear.). No complaints and over 100000 miles.
I have a 2019 SE. My daughter has a 2020 Titanium. We LOVE them! Cargo size? With the seats folded, I haul a 169-pound saint bernard! My daughter hauls a great pyrenees! We put the shelf up to the level position. The back doors are small enough it makes it awkward for my dog to get in, but then most car doors are for a saint🤣 I love the rear door. The way it opens makes it safe for the saint. Im 5' tall, so of course roominess isn't a problem. But my 6'3" hubby doesn't mind driving it. He said it's no worse than any other compact car for a tall person! Both have a sunroof and heated seats. The titanium has heated steering wheel😢. And leather seats. Which i dont like, but she does as she Ubers with hers, and it's easier to clean. Hers has an onboard navigation system. Mine, you have to have your charger cord plugged in. But...mine is fine for all the local driving. Hers is awesome for her cross-country trips. Her titanium has the fancy lights around the inside that can change colors, beat to the music, whatever. It's NOT something I really would like. Oh..and the rear compartment hauls my wheelchair AND the door makes it easier to load it. I just asked her if shed traind her in for another one? "YES! Any day of the week!". She has 150 thousand miles on the 2020. I have 50 thousand miles on my 2019.
There is so much modern tech on the car it drives so nice, it even has active noise canceling and its so quiet inside .. with the electric steering there is zero vibration in the steering wheel.. and it has 7” of ground clearance. … I imagine the ecosport is similar
It looks like an old fashioned body on frame( which it is not ) SUV that's been shrunk in the dryer . I think it's cool like the 1980s Daihatsu Rocky .
Did you bring up a good opinion or were you right or were you wrong? I will answer that gladly. My answer is that you were American. You like big cars with loud engines and move from 0 to 60mph in 3 seconds. We are people from the rest of world. You are American. Regular food tastes ugly when your diet is usually caviar. An Americans trash is tye rest of world gold. My Ford ecosport saves me on gas from here to NJ. 200 miles half a tank in S gear. Am an immigrant
I have a 21 ford ecosport s got it in august of 21 for 20k almost at 50k miles and crossing my fingers while knocking on wood😂the biggest problem I’ve had is replacing the engine thermostat. I run synthetic and change whenever the oil life hits around 25%. I’ve had it up pretty high a few mornings on the way to work and it holds steady with a smooth ride for being up that high in a little 3c turbo. I also get around 33+ mpg when driving 70-75 on highways
I think the one you drove must be broken . Ours goes like a rocket in traffic and on the motorway.has a spare wheel and good driving position. Only hope it will be reliable.
I just step down from a new fusion This dude is a Follower. I own a 2021 ecosport. He even can't call it by it's Name. The 1.0 is awesome. If you can't fit into it get a BIGGER CAR. It's Subcompact Hello. Omg it's not a race car. The ECHO sport not eco sport smart guy. The vehicle is comfortable and cheap to fill up. Also it's been very reliable and holds speed, go test one people he is a FOLLOWER not a leader.
I take it you call EcoBoost “echo boost” as well… lmao. Sharing my opinion on why the EcoSport is not a very good vehicle makes me a follower I guess? “Not a race car” I’m not comparing this to a Ford GT, it’s still one of the slowest new vehicles you can buy. I drive these “EchoSports” around all the time so I can give a pretty good idea on how it runs. 27city and 29hwy is good mpg for a subcompact crossover? Strange. The Escape, which is a much better, faster, larger vehicle gets 28city 34hwy… Realize that people have opinions. There’s good reason they’re gonna stop selling these in the US. If you like yours, that’s all that matters. Don’t worry about my opinion and move on with your day.
@@JVette01 no, I just spelled it echo because ford has a weird spelling of the eco when it comes to the pouncing. The engine is a eco boost. Plus I could of bought the escape or something else. This vehicle has better ground clearance and smaller. Yes, my 2.5 fusion did better on gas. I'm not worried about gas prices or mph. Yes, we have our options. Yes, they are not making them no more, so what. It will be replaced by the maverick, my next vehicle. Time for me to move on with my day.plus it's unique, don't see them. Like a escape, f150 and so on
So many eco sport owners in the comments “it’s a good car I swear it moves guys! Highway speeds? Yeah it can reach them, I’ve only gone through 3 engines so far!”
This is what people buy when they are looking for reliable transportation and don’t want a big car payment. Not everyone needs a big fancy SUV.
Literally my case. The only car I could afford and I love it
@@jjhumorhype5458not the only car I could afford but agree with cheep suv nothing fancy
Peace!
@@bing4418 don’t insult the person who posted the video. End of discussion buddy.
@@bing4418 honestly!
Some people like myself like small AWD SUVs, and the side swing gate works for me. My only gripe is that it doesn't have a spare tire.
There’s a car for everyone!
Me too
I got this car for 2 months, is an awesome car. With the second row folded down and put the trunk mat at the upper level, you got a completely flat cargo space area. Perfect car for a young couple without kids :)
I’m glad you’re liking yours!
people must be having enormous kids--bigger than mine. I haul two kids (14 & 11) around very comfortably in this thing. No problem with kids.
XD what? That wet belt oil pump isn't going to have a friend in time.
@@jacobrzeszewski6527 The 4 has a chain drive. Super reliable.
I love my EcoSport! Granted I’m not a car person and don’t really care about performance. I’m happy with it for sure!
I pass people all the time on the highway in mine, so this video to don’t make any sense
It was very nice of the dealer to not tell me there’s no spare tire in the trunk
After making this video, I see there are alot of people that actually like this car lol.

I have problems when I put my phone in front of the shifter too while parking 😂 but regardless it’s a great affordable vehicle to have
I think your being nit picky my self ….just saying I see nothing wrong with it girlfriend has one it works for her perfectly most people don’t want a car that goes 0-60 in 2 seconds and does 90 on the highway obviously it’s not for you lol
When youput a new engine in it just out of powertrain get back to us.
@@JasPlun what do you mean,,, what issue are you having?
Im glad to hear about your good ownership experience.
My son bought one new two years ago and he loves it. Great in winter weather, we get lots of that. Nice little car.
I have the diesel one and I like it. Over here we get a full sized spare wheel mounted on the rear door. I actually like the way it looks and handles. Its heavy for its size and has a good feel to drive. The motor could have been a bit more punchier.
Too bad we cannot get rear door mount here. It looks very good, I think.
I’m a mechanic and I bought one for my daily driver did my research and love it super simple like a modern VW bug I must be an idiot
If you like it that’s great!
Yeah it’s a little pricey. You’re better off going escape.
I have the SE and I love it.
I changed my escape 16 for exactly this model, and I love it because is more easy to parking and I spend less money in gas.
We get it.
There’s a car for every purpose. There are just much better options out there in my personal opinion. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I have a 2018 Ford Eco sport and I love my car. The back door makes it look different from every other car. So stop hating..

I'm sorry but I love my Diamond White 2021 Ford EcoSport SE! Love, Love, Love it! Its phucking awesome! Its stylish and rugged at the same time! Anyine calling this compact off roader is just jealous of it!! I'd buy another one if I could!!
I’m glad you’re enjoying yours!
I have a 2018 2.0 and never any problems. Ford should have a hybrid model of the eco sport. Just my thought.
Thanks for sharing your opinion!
I love mine, never had any issues, great gas milage enough room to be comfortable, if u want a family car for small family, it is perfect. But not for a groen family, it's a great starter car for a first time car buy, this is my 2nd one. I upgraded to the 4 wheel drive, icall it the mini suv
I have a 2020 and no issues at all bought brand new and still love it
Awesome!
@@JVette01 but there is absolutely no room in the back seat for anyone , luckily it’s just me and my husband and occasionally our granddaughter rides back there but not often if I had to put any adults back there they definitely wouldn’t be comfortable I don’t think
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it!
The Mazda cx-5 is actually considered a compact suv. I'm trying to buy one right now and it's super spacious and nice
Do you really work Ford a ford Dealer? I have a 2020 T all wheel 4cyl and I love it.
I assume this was a base model description. Mine is middle of the line options and comfortable and not cheap plastic looking everywhere.
I couldn't agree with you more!
I opted for the 2.0L with the 4wd and it's not bad. Once the warranty goes I'm dropping a turbo on it lol
Nice haha
My wife and I just bought a brand new 2022 Titanium last week. The Ford EcoSport Titanium is absolutely just awesome. Everyone should own one hands down. :) Vancouver BC
Thanks for sharing!
It wasn’t flat because you didn’t use the shelf cargo system!!
Thanks for letting me know.
I pass people all the time in my EcoSport, and drive it on highway on a regular basis, with no issues. Perhaps you were driving a dud…
Valid no passing cars in this suv the worst I ever brought 😢
Bros a D1 eco sport hater
I like mine. I have the 4WD Titanium. I cruise easily off road and in the snow. I love the lane assist, manual shift (tiptronic from the lever) heated seats ect. I have a little universal car top carrier and have been all over the US in this little thing. True its a little ugly but it makes it that much cooler. Oh and I have the app so I can remote start and locate the little bug wherever it is.
Dude buy an explorer if you want something bigger. But I guess it too expensive for ur pocket
True
Should have bought the Fiesta ST. Mine's rocking 230 hp with just a few mods.
I love my eco sport. 2.0L engine is a great engine. I would take this car over a crappy Mercedes vehicle anyway.
I’m so glad you are enjoying your new ecosport
That’s right, this’s perfect car for city and easy to park…nothing wrong with it…different people with different needs…
It is made for fleet purpose...alot of companies are using for their Reps and employees..it seems to do the job as a person mover
It is a vehicle, yes.
I love my EcoSport, and I definitely don't have any trouble overpassing cars on the highway. lol
I like how the trunk opens. I often hit my head with the lift up-open trunk.
Also it drives like a small car not like an suv
Like chevy sonic or an accent.
Thanks for sharing!
i LOVE my 2018 Titanium EcoSport! my only gripe is poor gas mileage. i like the look, wanted a small SUV.
I just got it and i love it!!
Awesome! Congrats!
being 6.5ft tall, why would someone even consider this car, lol
I actually fit fine in this, but I generally like sitting closer to the pedals/wheel. Some tall people like to sit way in the back haha
No all of us are 6.5, I'm 5.11. Fit nice and lots of head room. Buy a bigger vehicle if your a basketball player
I’m the same height I fit perfectly ok In mine lol
My mom got this car because she wanted a car. She didn't do any research. -_- Now, she complains often about gas mileage. Her car Run 20 liters of gas for 100 Km. 62 Miles for 5.28 Gallons. Idk anything about Cars so if someone could tell me if this is good or bad?
I have a 2018 model, and it’s so good. You can’t convince me otherwise
That’s great news!
For longevity’s sake I’m glad it doesn’t have the 2 liter Ecoboost. It would have tarnished this cars spectacular reliability.
Haven’t noticed that before
You keep saying that’s bad that’s not bad that’s actually not too bad it’s bad no that’s not too bad really I own one and it is amazing for towing behind your motorhome and traveling in the cities in the town where you don’t need a big car has plenty of power.
Im so glad it works for you!
“Just take a look at it” and he’s parked it so the middle of the car is blacked out.
I think Ecosports are fantastic. They are soo popular here in South Africa!
Overseas people tend to like them. I’m mainly talking about for US roads
We bought one 1 year and 9 months ago, it’s been in the shop for a total of 7 months and they are about to put in the third motor. It only has 26,000 miles.
That's too bad..
What are you doing to it to blow 3 motors? Sounds like BS to me.
Honestly this is just an embarrassment of a vehicle. The car is neither Eco nor Sport, Ford offers a much better subcompact crossover in Europe under the same platform (Puma). And this was out since 2012 and was released in the US in 2018
I just bought the 2022 model and I love it
Nice!
So I Owen a 2019 ford ecosport eco boost se and I love it I have not had any transmission issues what so ever.the sports mode is amazing no issues with that at all .. everything works perfect in my ecosport
My first car was a 1985 Dodge Colt. It had 66 hp.
80’s we’re tough times when it comes to horsepower haha
My first car was a '70 VW Beetle with a 46 hp aircooled engine, and the places that it could go was really amazing, just the crappy heater was my 'only' gripe.
I had the turbo version. 103 hp, and it was considered pretty quick for the time. Too bad the transmission couldn't handle the extra torque.
I have my car in my garage due the oil pump low level indicates.so I took it home went to check problem car shut off never stated had to tow it mechanic
Tells me there's a recall so I went to ford dealer they say there's no parts available till March or april. oApril.
Car is in my garage since June 2024.
PS IS A 2018 FORD ECOSPORT TITANIUM 😢
These cars have no spare. So make sure n buy triple A or make sure your car insurance has road assistance. But d eco sport we purchased new has been a reliable gas efficient great at hauling stuff kinda vehicle. ( put seats down in rear.). No complaints and over 100000 miles.
This is really far from being bad. Honest little car with no false pretenses.
Probably like 34 mpg. It really isn’t good
Engines die soon after 60k miles and are expensive to replace. Complete junk and a throw away car because it costs more than its worth to fix.
There is so much modern tech on the car it drives so nice, it even has active noise canceling and its so quiet inside .. with the electric steering there is zero vibration in the steering wheel.. and it has 7” of ground clearance. … I imagine the ecosport is similar
The encore is much nicer. The ecosport is not good
It looks like an old fashioned body on frame( which it is not ) SUV that's been shrunk in the dryer . I think it's cool like the 1980s Daihatsu Rocky .
I wish they sold the Jimny in the US.
If it works for you, that's great!
You are wise.
The 2L is much better and feels more like a normal highway car. AKA you can pass and merge with haste. The 2L engine is very nice to work on as well.
I think the one you drove must be broken . Ours goes like a rocket in traffic and on the motorway.has a spare wheel and good driving position. Only hope it will be reliable.
It’s peppy in stop and go traffic but once you get on the highway it’s a turte
I really hate Ecosport. F this car
Lol
This car is built for Europe or small countries to compete with Renault, Citroen and Fiat.
That makes sense. Should’ve stayed over there in my opinion.
Like a escape, f150 and so on
Fair enough. You’d be much happier with a Maverick.
So many eco sport owners in the comments “it’s a good car I swear it moves guys! Highway speeds? Yeah it can reach them, I’ve only gone through 3 engines so far!”
