      Hey I use Aca1234. It never crashes. Individual computers real high quality from my experience

    • @tlaskows
      @tlaskows ปีที่แล้ว

      The chip speed is around 7 x faster in sysinfo on real A1200 with real 68030, no fpu. The benchmark shows wrong info because of timing issues it displays numbers that do not make sense. My a1200 boots up in 2 seconds. Sorry forgot to add:. Need to turn of fast RAM and use Chipram only. Depends on the settings. If u use WB3.1 or OS 3.9 or higher. OS 3.9 doesn't really use Chipram, only fastram. It's more like windows for multimedia and internet, but games will not run. I have two CF cards. 1 internal and one on the turbo card. When booted from stock internal with trapdoor expansion off it runs in stealth mode as in stock A1200 so minimum WB Install only. It keeps running of of fastram and many programs and games freeze and crash

    • @tlaskows
      @tlaskows ปีที่แล้ว

      What do I do when it fails to boot? That's why I never even considered downgrading from real 1230 axel. I never have issues with it except many demos and games that have not been patched. For example State of the Art runs perfect (not a single glitch) on ACA1234 68030 @ 50Mhz even though it was written for A500 to load from floppy. The only issue I still have is the OSSC converter when the video mode switching is too fast. The FPGA can't catch those because of the missing timing on video out. Digital issue. On a CRT with Sync, there are no glitches.

      @@tlaskows yes, sure. I'm happy that you are happy with your ACA1234. But what is actually the point of your comments? Are you unhappy that someone is happy with his PiStorm?

    Thanks for doing this video, HAM! We've been waiting for such a board for so long, can't wait to get mine! Regarding performance, rendering speed is damn impressive and I'd really love to see some more of Layout work since that's one of the chipset's bottlenecks for the A1200, as well as how much better Animation playback on Scala is with the Pistorm32 in frames-per-sec, say Hires Ham8 Laced where there are moving pixels through the whole screen. Really can't wait to try this out... Thanks again! :)

    • @HoldandModify
      @HoldandModify  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glad you enjoyed. Yeah the p32 is super quick for rendering. It just lags a bit too much for higher graphics screens as I’ve shown. That need to be addressed before I myself would commit to full time use.

I'm still on C64 because I haven't finished all the games for it. Like Sega Sonic The dog or smth port from Genesys or mastersystem. I don't remember. I never like that game anyway. I had a gamegear a long ago. I will probably upgrade to GeOS next year to get online.

    This is really really cool and kudos to Michal for getting this working so well. I still feel very much in two minds over this. It is kind of vampire-ish in some ways depending on how much you use, but that's not to say it's bad or not a real Amiga experience. With Pistorm, the team have done more to create a future for the Amiga than Amiga Technologies ever achieved and at an amazing price point. I do wonder if it's more performant than Pimiga on a Pi 4 with JIT on. If it is, then amazing. If not maybe the Pi is better emulating rather than... "emulating", if you get what I mean.

    I'm waiting for my PiStorm32 Lite at the moment. I'll be running it with a Pi3B+, which should be plenty fast enough, and then some. I don't know if I'll even use it long term, but I was curious, and since it was so affordable, and I already owned a Pi, I thought it would be fun to try it out. Long term, I'll be replacing the failing connector on my old GVP A1230 Turbo+ Series II accelerator, but in the mean time, perhaps I'll fall in love with the PiStorm ^^
