After two years how has the recliner held up and are you full time Rv people
We sold that rv after the renovation and have a different older diesel pusher we have begun renovating. We went full time for a while, sold home, but then had an opportunity to set up a base camp in New Mexico. We now are location independent and split 50/50 where we live. We dont advocate selling everything for rv living for people over 50 unless its the only way to keep a roof over your head. What size hardware did you use. There are no instructions that came with it
I just screwed it down to the plywood. I chose wood screws that were large enough so the head would seat down in the holes in the bottom metal frame of the recliners.
Another Great video with the recliners and installation of the plywood floor. Just a couple of questions, are the seat belts still functional? I'm still unsure how far back under the slide out you removed the existing carpet for the new vinyl flooring? Did you just cut the carpet even with end of the original slide out or did you remove it totally from under the slide out?? My slide out has 3 rollers under the slide out, does yours? Have you had any scratches on the new flooring due to the slide out. Sorry for all the questions, there's just not enough information on TH-cam regarding this particular type of slide out. We tell everyone our 40' MH only sleeps 2 😀😀
Sorry for the late response. The comments get lost sometimes. I removed all of the carpet. It only went a few inches under the slide. The seat belts still function you just have to feed them through the recliners. My slide had three rollers as well and we did not get any scratching when the slide goes in or out. When we removed the jackknife sofa. We made the decision that we travel just the two of us and if we ever had a guest we would use a blow up mattress. So do these recliners/installation meet requirements for a auto seat. Are they bolted to the rv frame? Thanks!
They are screwed down to the 3'4 " plywood. The seatbelts are original and installed at the factory. We just changed the furniture piece, not the seatbelts. 😉

Question - why did you do the side cut outs on the plywood?
Because otherwise they would stick out because the recliners arent as wide as the slide platform and its raised above the floor and we thought somebody would catch their ankle on those corners. Hope that answers your question. Thanks.

Lovely couple. Looking to do something similar to my motorhome. I don't know why he put down flooring to wall where no one would see it but, if you do, I recommend Loctite adhesive rather than silicone which is more senistive to temperature (it can get hot in storage). I remember Edith Ann, and, since I have cable, still watch Laugh-In and Edith Ann. I had an aunt Edith who was a sweet lady. Dennis W.

Can you tell me the dimensions of the plywood base floor you added, in particular, the depth. I will be doing the same. I was thinking 37”, but wanted to know what you ended up with. Thank you
sure. The plywood base is 33.5" under the recliners only. The slide base itself is 25" And that is still the depth on each side of the recliners so no one can walk into the corner of it. @@RoamingWithRosie I am ordering the 67-inch recliner and I had measured to ensure the front base of the recliner had the 36 inch minimum from the back wall. The front of my slide is 39 1/2. Three inches to spare. This is why I order this recliner. I know exactly where the recliner is going to be placed on my slide.

what diesel was in your Holiday Rambler? I am looking at a 2001 34 ft and it has a 260hp cummins. I've heard they are good but in that year you have to watch for the 53 block. Curious of your thoughts on that RV and engine.
We had a 2001 36ft Ambassador with a 300 Cummins. I felt that it was a bit under powered for that coach size. Hope this helps!
I’m planning on doing this with our motorhome. I note that RecPro states that we need a 36” base on the slideout. We have 30”. I saw on another response that you made your base 33”. Is that correct and does it seem to hold up okay? Do you need any support under the extension? Thanks.
I used 3/4" plywood for the base. It held up really well. If you watch the video I only had it go out that far where the recliners are I notched it so we wold hit out legs on the base extension. Good luck and thanks for watching!

We have a Monaco Knight and have talked about doing the same thing. Our jacknife is 68". How long was the one you had? Are you happy with your RecPro? They look great! Since you have had them a year, are there any changes you would have done? Thank you!
We have recently changed RVs for a bigger engine. We loved the recliners, but would have purchased the sofa version instead so someone could sleep there if needed. Being able to fit the pieces easily thru the door is such a no brainer. Others have literally removed windows to get seating in.
