Confused about the cost and what it covers? You said it was $180 for the season and then went on to talk about Boondocking with no services. Can you clarify ?
Jamie and Linda, I am glad to see that you are both ok after your blow out. Thank you for sharing your ordeal and all the great information. Good luck with Rosie!!
Quartzsite will become a ghost town if they implement this increase. The RV show will go somewhere else..
@praetorianpatriot3267 Hopefully it won't really be that high.
New push for compliance with regard to vehicle registration. Don't bring a car here and think just because it has an out of state or country license plate that registration can be ignored. The party is over and ADOT wants it revenue. Zero tolerance for unregistered or expired tags. Large fines and even impounding is coming. Just obey the laws and everything is good!
Pro painter tip…don’t spray in a high wind
I can’t find their channel, worth every mile? I am for the first time seeing a reason to get a smart car, also they put my 16x10 shed that I’m living in to shame, bravo guys
@STREETMANFOX our episode about them was made a couple years ago. Unfortunately, they have taken down their channel and are no longer making videos. We're sorry for the disappointment it may have caused you.
How is traveling in hotels vs the rv? If they total the rv will you buy another? If you do buy another get one a few yrs newer with the common rail fuel system, yours has the caps system and can be difficult to repair.
All I can say to that is we are not interested in traveling and staying in hotels. We love the RV Lifestyle of being able to be out in natural environments, with our dog and our own kitchen stocked with fresh & healthy food.
heres something you my want to know the 🌈 people have taken over almost all the short term area and there are 100,s here now and are even running campers out including me cause they pit big rocks on the one road out that is safe for motorhomes and i almost got beat up when i told them to move the rocks so this place
What are 🌈 people??
Bro, you should have shown us before you stuck it down your tank. You're very fortunate ur wife loves you.
Good job on the video guys. Very interesting. Safe travels. Cheers Joe 😊
Cheers to you too, Joe! We're glad you enjoyed the video.
@@RoamingWithRosie . You bet, great post. Cheers Joe 😊
Ok
As the Motorhome sits in Tucson AZ awaiting a decision from the catastrophic tire blowout in November 2024, we invite you to enjoy our informative & entertaining travels to the Pacific Northwest this past summer.
Thanks Jamie and Linda. This was really fun to see. Even the RV Park was done in the 'period style' giving it the complete flavor experience. This part of California with the types of trees and landscape exudes the early California development look. Seeing all the old steam and rail equipment really pulled the scene together, giving it a real feel for what was involved during that period of time. I've seen some of the old footage of the Great San Francisco Fire. It was extremely interesting. That fire burned for days and people were having to migrate out of the city in droves because they were burned out of their places. Everything burned to the ground because it was all massive wood structures... except for the fireplaces... of course. Back east they built mostly with stone, steel, brick, and mortar. But in San Fran, at the time, it was all wood, because beautiful wood was available locally. But where there's wood... there is fire. So Willits prospered greatly from the rebuilding of San Francisco. Gord
Thanks for your insightful comment, Gord. It is amazing how much history is in this area. You're spot on with the lumber needed after the fire.
@RoamingWithRosie Thanks... this is definitely a new bucket list destination. Gord
After watching your previous videos, my question is, was this video filmed before your mishap concerning your motor home? Has your motor home been fixed?
Thank you for asking. We do not know if the RV will be fixed or totaled at this time. This was our travel prior to the tire blowout. Our travel videos usually are for travel 60-90 days prior to releasing them.
Hey Jamie and Linda that looked like a nice train ride and with entertainment. I have been able to get Ron on 2 similar trains this year hopefully next time we go tonRedwoods maybe I can get him to do that one. The burger place looked like a good drive in burger joint 45 minutes is a pretty long wait but did look good. That was a really nice place to RV they had a lot of amenities and very cute but yes yoir correct it was pretty spendy. Great video loved the editing and transitions great job Linda!! See ya soon! 😊😅😂
Thanks @justrambinaround , for the compliments. They are greatly appreciated. Editing this was a team effort this time with all that belching antique equipment being fascinating to Jamie's inner child. LOL
We like to go to Ft. Bragg/Mendocino every year and drive through Willits all the time. I probably turn to get on to Ca. 20 before I get to anything interesting in town. I do know the Ft. Bragg Skunk train from the other side goes up to the caved in tunnel as well. Hopefully your travels are going to take you that way. Good luck fixing Rosie.
Thanks so much. On our next time to Northern Cali, we hope to make it over to Fort Bragg. There's so much to see around there and of course, the Redwoods just got more amazing as we continued to travel north.
We hope everything will work out with Rosie. great video
Appreciate the well wishes! We'll have some answers by the end of this week. Editing the videos from our travel just before the blowout, we get to relive it, but getting anxious to get back on the road as soon as we can.
Here's small piece of trivia... The sign over the main street was donated to Willits by the City of Reno in the early 60s. It was their "Biggest Little City In The World" Arch sign over Virginia Street. Now you know!
Thanks for pointing that out. I actually did a year at UN Reno and had heard that, but I didn't know if it was the same sign from the 80s
So you were able to fix Rosie? You thought maybe totaled?
No. Thank you so much for following. This is our 2 months of travel thru the Pacific Northwest. Fortunately the tire didn't blow up there. Would have been a logistical nightmare.
Great video! Sorry we missed that part of the trip! And missing the festival too! Arrgh!
Hey Cuz! We definitely would have missed this highlight of our summer travel if you hadn't recommended it. Thank you so much.
Did I miss video if you had Rosie fixed ?
No. This is our 2 months of travel thru the Pacific Northwest. Fortunately the tire didn't blow up there. Would have been a logistical nightmare.
Here is a video I did about Willits Icons and Statues. th-cam.com/video/-MXawRBUZKM/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=CraftyTraveler
Very informative video about Willits. So much history there.
WOW! you are in my town. I wish you would have contacted me we could have met up. I have been on the train numerous times. Back in the 1990's it actually ran the entire way from Willits <> Fort Bragg.. 101 Burger is good but my favorite place to eat outside, and dog friendly is Kelly's Diner. That is a great RV park. I always recommend it to those coming to Willits. I have even stayed there.
How cool! But we didn't know you were there. LOL. It would have been wonderful to ride it all the way to the coast. I guess they are not finding funds to rebuild the tunnel yet. We found that RV park from the @LostRvers channel.
This is so frustrating because someone really doesn’t find out how “stuck” they are until you’re stuck on the side of the road. I hope this all gets resolved successfully and am glad you’re both fine. You’ve also reinforced why I would never ever not ever buy a Class A motorhome. Just about anybody can tow a pickup, but whether they bring the trailer too is another story altogether. We also know of someone who had a trailer left on the side of the road which subsequently got stolen. Yikes!
It's still a debate. Because we have 2 motorized vehicles with us when traveling. For us, that's the safety net.
We have been broke down several times on the road and side of the road. One time we were blocking one lane of the road, and could not mover the motorhome. It took from Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon to get someone to tow our 43' Tiffin motorhome deiseal. Another time the person had to be tow it to Cummings Engine repair in Washington State . The guy that towed our motorhome backed our motorhome into a concrete wall, and did not put on his breaks. This was unrepairable so we stayed in a hotel for months until they ( the insurance company ) decided what they were going to do . The motorhome was a total lost. The tiles in the bathroom floor had even all been busted. We now have an older 40' motorhome, but has not had this kind of bad luck since " Thank God " .
I gave up watching after way too many “reading” comments about poor service. Its common knowledge that roadside service is hit or miss.
I heard there is BLM land in Quartzsite that is free for camping. Is that true?
@karenbrown2135 yes. We explained each of the areas, rules, and maps in the video.
Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤
Just go get a tire
@@jamesadair8131 Hysterical!
great video!!
Thank you!
You hooked that up totally wrong
Another amazing video so sad you had to go through all this but you have really helped so many people. It was interesting to see how much work goes into getting the RV ready to tow that was very interesting to see. You organized this video so well the filming and editing was honestly incredible! Loved that you took the comments from others and shared those experiences it is extremely helpful. Wow another great video and the pace was spot on!! Once again so sorry this all happened and we hope the ending is a happy one!😊
Thanks for the info but I'll stick to Florida no dust storms and beautiful beaches. Enjoy
Is there a future gym or fitness center on the plans?
This guy has an Alfa. They have problems with ZER insulation in the front cap. Lots of outside air enters the unit
@moisheh101 we don't have any trouble with that. Are you thinking of someone else? The problem with Alfas is the ventilation coming from floor vents. We all learned in Middle school that cool air doesn't rise. So in brutal heat, a rooftop a/c solves that. Thanks for watching.
This guy doesn’t understand what speed limit means. It’s not the minimum.
It looks like the joke flew right over your head!
Our 42 ft 5th wheel’s rear axle began smoking blue in late October, about 45 miles from our Mesa, AZ park. There were no tow trucks or land hauls available for 8-10 hrs & we weren’t exactly safe on the I-10E shoulder. A state trooper followed us as we slowly crept to a truck stop 3 miles down the road. When we made the truck stop, the blue smoke had returned & when we finally pulled over in their back lot, the wheel was coming off the spindle. I found a mobile RV tech (shoutout to Cameron @ Service World RV in Surprise), who came out after hours in the heat to replace our axle & u-joints (different brand). Grateful we had no damage to our trailer, but we stayed in a hotel in Buckeye since we had to park our 5er till repairs were done & staying in our rig without power was untenable for both me & my disabled hubby. We didn’t have roadside assistance at the start of that adventure, but we do now through our Progressive policy for Full Timers.
During the summer in the PHX area, that could have been so dangerous. And very smart to have full timers insurance. So many only think about saving money on insurance rather than what would happen without it. Thanks for sharing! Safe Travels to you both.
Escapees also has a road service plan. My understanding it is the same company FRVA uses.
Yes it is. We didn't realize that when this happened , but Saferide is the dysfunctional company many RV Clubs offer to their members. FMCA literally had to get involved to get Saferide to do their job for us. It would seem that these clubs together, could work towards improving the product they promote. And if not, then don't "oversell" how great it is.
A friend had a 5th wheel tire blow out on the Uncompahgre Plateau, about 1.4 hours out of Delta Colorado on good gravel roads. Good Sam said they couldn't get anyone to come up for how much Good Sam was willing to pay. We dropped Good Sam.
We're going to dig into whether various stand alone roadside assist plans will cover RVers when they're stuck off road. Definitely inconsistent stories. Whereas, your RV's insurance company has a stake in rescuing you and the RV. Thanks for the story!
You may have a $20 or 30 k repair bill .. Keep us updated
That's what we're thinking. Or not repairable due to electrical components and other parts not being available . Thanks.
Random but some fellow friends in arizona had a blowout on a Alfa see ya as well, they had the exact same wiring damage, unfortunately they couldn't run their ac and it was summer 😬 Good sam wanted to tow my RV to midas's muffler shop as it was the closest repair shop, complete nonsense. i have AAA and coachnet, redundancy is great
It's smart to have 2 plans. Although, our research into what AAA will pay is that it's only $500 towards a tow. Our tow was somewhere around $4k for 20 miles because of all the time involved.
AAA is wayyyy better than good sam, AAA will take you where you want to go, Good sam will pull the closest location BS. i've used AAA on multiple towers including a tag axle coach, no hassle
Is that stand alone Roadside Assist from AAA? Or is it part of your RV's insurance plan? We just confirmed that they'll only pay for up to $500 on a tow. And 100 miles for regular policy holders up to 4 times a year or 200 miles for one tow + 100 miles for 2 more in a year with their upgraded plan.
@@RoamingWithRosie stand alone AAA plan, when i have a Towing’s/roadside issue, i personally dont want to deal with my insurance as a primary choice. I want to deal with a company who’s 100 percent for us is on towing and assistance rather than a separate roadside assistance department that they made just to boost their bottom line. Also, for the cost/benifit, i would have a separate policy for you and your partner. I’ve stacked AAA members “friend used theirs to the mileage limit, then we used mine for the last leg:” to do a long tow and the towing companies in general are happy to help find the solution with AAA to get it done, they are well versed in what’s needed or how to get around it. The alpha isnt too big of a unit to do some things yourself as well. Granted i usually have a trailer but if you carry a bottle jack and a 1/2 inch impact, lift up the rear, take the damaged tire off, toss it on a hitch mount basket/basement storage or even leave it toad side and come back for it but i prefer to get off the highway myself if i can, even if it risk more damage i do not want to get hit . At the end of the day, it’s easy for me to quarterback after the fact, but thank you for sharing your adventures. :)
Main point is having more than one option as ideal and having some tire changing tools, wire crimpers and terminals and basic plumbing parts for a worst-case scenario or at least having them so somebody else can help you is a great idea for anyone able bodies. Welcome to AZ too
Fill so sad for the situation you are going through. Hope all works out for you both.
Thanks for the kind words!
Welcome to the trucking life with big rigs
Seems like we overlap into that category often. Jamie has been licensed & employed driving big trucks in the recent past.
Unfortunately many of us are just one tire blow out away from our motorhomes be totaled.
Yep. We have extra coverage well above the actual value which may prevent her from being totaled. But locating parts could still make it too difficult. We'll do an insurance episode in the future. Jamie is an independent insurance agent. Safe Travels to you.
do You need to have the step in a open or closed position when you plug everything in? What is the starting position for the step with new hardware installed? does it matter? Good video!
It doesn’t really matter. I had the step out when I plugged it in. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Your solar can’t keep up with your TWO air conditioners? OH YOU POOR BABIES!!!!!!
No complaining on our end. Just educating. Cheers!
The WORST SERVICE, THE ABSOLUTE WORST.. GOOD SAM. They left us stranded on one trip 3 times. They argued with the Driver THEY SENT about how to pay him 😡🤬🤯 and if your rig is over 20 years 😂 You’re not a priority and they’ll no longer offer insurance to you.
So sad. We'll continue to share these stories so RVers are better informed. Sorry for what happened to you, but thank you for sharing that.
I’m following you all along. You two take care please. Scott
Thank you.
