What a scene ,most probably one of the best in history, Claudia Cardinale deserved min 2 Oscars for those precious 3 mins....not a word uttered and so much communicated ...
And then there's Frank's (Henry Fonda) death scene, towards the end, where he lays dying and asks Harmonica (Charles Bronson) one last time, "Who are you?" Harmonica answers him, without saying a word, but simply by "returning " Frank's harmonica to him in the same way that it was "given" to him (Bronson) so many years ago. That scene alone, in my opinion, made this movie the perfect revenge flick.
Yes a brilliant beautiful composer who at 89 was finally recognized by Hollywood and died shortly thereafter his music lights the soul so absolutely magical
Very few true Western fans would argue...though I have to say the combination of Leone / Morricone was magical in all their films - the close ups, cinematic widescapes and emotive music could tell a story even without words. Bronson was born to play this role and having Fonda as Frank was pure genius by Leone.
This was my Grandmother’s favorite song; she passed away three years ago at Christmas after around 8 years of fighting (she had cancer). One or my alltime favourites too even being a diehard heavy metal fan. It's nice to find out spiritual people who knows there exist another worlds realities entities alive energies etc than what meets the eye. Of course Heaven exists this song is a proof. Hello from Spain!!!
There is so much female beauty on screen in the history of cinema, but nothing ever has ever hit me like Claudia Cardinale in this movie. I first saw this in 1997. Utterly discombobulating. Again and again I return to it. She wears the grime and the dust as if they were diamonds. The drenching sentiment of the music, the brutality of the plot, the baseness of the themes and her otherworldly beauty lift this masterpiece out of time altogether and fix it in place as one of those rare works that defines the medium of cinema itself - exactly as the director intended. A mythical moment, once upon a time, being created and being destroyed simultaneously by the mighty railroad.
Breath-taking movie from the get-go to the last picture. Ennio-Morricone's music is pure genius. Sergio Leone's best movie despite "The Good, the Bad & th Ugly" & its music (still by the same Morricone).

The singer is not Dulce Pontes, the voice Morricone used in the film was the brilliant Italian Soprano - Edda Dell'Orso
@@robertcowley3027 It was a different voice in the film, she didn't actually sing, just made beautiful sounds. Dulce recorded the actual singing version in 2003 long after the movie came out.
@@5dianita I know that Anita, I have already said Pontes made a recording of it in 2003, The film was released in 1968 and Pontes was not even born then. I have presented classical music on air for many years and I keep my powder dry unless I am sure of my facts. Morricone and Edda had a long musical relationship and he wanted Edda to perform the Music. this is why she appeared in many of Leone's Spaghetti westerns with Morricone. Edda is still alive at 88 years of age
Ennio Morricone has left us at age 91 RIP .
This is our favorite love song. The tune is uniquely spiritual. Heaven has surely taken notice!
One or my alltime favourites too even being a diehard heavy metal fan. It's nice to find out spiritual people who knows there exist another worlds realities entities alive energies etc than what meets the eye. Of course Heaven exists this song is a proof. Hello from Spain!!!
A arte de Ennio Morricone,Sérgio Leone, Cláudia e Bronson,é lindo de viver!
SIM AMEN
Beautiful song , beautiful Dulce Pontes ' Voice. Wonderful!!!
This song is beautiful and my heart starts to cry :(
No music is to replace like this song
The most beautiful song I’ve ever heard. So powerful. Perfect match of music and vocals. Cannot get enough of it 🌷
Zazdroszczę ❤
Whoever sings like this is really, really cool. This lady makes me cry.
DULCE PONTES.
Breath-taking movie from the get-go to the last picture. Ennio-Morricone's music is pure genius. Sergio Leone's best movie despite "The Good, the Bad & th Ugly" & its music (still by the same Morricone).
Dulce Pontes great voice from Portugal!
Charles Bronson, Claudia Cardinale, Henry Fonda MARAVILHA
Morricone was the best in producing the perfect music for several western movies.
Butt buddies

Beautiful song and great composer Ennio Morricone and his ideas for melody in movies. Perfectly Bravo!!!
InAugust I will have been married for 50 years. I have never loved anyone as much as my wife. Dulce Pontes is the best runner up ever. She makes me listen. Fantastic voice.
What a film , what a music , capolavoro italiano! Ennio + Sergio ineguagliabili ❤
Incomparável DULCE PONTES. Grande estrela da música portuguesa.
Verdade. Agora tenho saudade mas a musica Morricone e Dulce Pontes lembra me perfeito equilibrio Italia Portugal. Desculpa eu falo poco portugues.
A Grande Cantora Dulce Pontes.

Eu me transporto para ERA do Velho OESTE.
Perfeito colega. Tenho o mesmo sentido. E triste que a ERA do velho OESTE acabou. Mas é maravilhosa, linda, e saudades eternas do maestro Ennio Morricone
Tajemniczo,przeraźliwie,strasznie i pięknie.
unreachable, the Maestro will always live because of his masterpieces ... this is one of them but not the only one.
Ottimol film ,attori straordinari , incantevole colonna sonora, bellissima Claudia !

@@justinogodinho4188 kkkkkk, 😁
Dulce Pontes from the depths of her soul causes grown men to weep. Most incredible performance ever.
YES
no, no, no, men do not weep, it´s called hetero sweat.lol
I had this played for my brother at his funeral - I used the original and it was a haunting moment - it will be forever linked to him
😢❤ godbless you ❤x
Played this song at my wifes funeral in january 2021, i cry every time i hear this song, mis her so much.
This played on my grandfather's funeral, this was his favorite movie. ❤
A time when a friendly pat on the tush was a compliment. A movie acted thru use of facial expressions, and actors stunningly beautiful and ruggedly handsome. A great classic western that we see too few of now, with music thats exceptional. I Love it!
