Cool shoot! Nice to see that old Pentax lens getting some use. Also love Mexican food lol. I originally wanted a 50r as secondary camera (main setup was Lumix). I have always been curious about digital medium format. August of last year I went looking for a used 50r but couldn't find one for under $2000. I ended up getting a lightly used 50s ii instead for $2300 since I couldn't justify paying almost the same amount for the 50r which lacked ibis and the newer AF capabilities. 10 months later and the 50s ii has now become my primary camera and I only use the Lumix for video. If you can get over the slower process of shooting and the larger camera body then medium format will really spoil you when it comes to colors and dynamic range. I am still hoping that Fujifilm will release a successor to the 50r (maybe 100r) as I prefer the rangefinder style body and the more tactile dials. I mostly shoot portraits.
thank you!! Glad you like your 50s ii as well. The GFX really does spoil you when it comes to image quality. I’ve hardly picked up any other camera for photo since I got the 50r. The slow processing speed keeps me from over shooting which I love.
Good vid and I subbed after seeing the first one at the tennis court. Question: how do you focus with the manual lens? Focus is really on point and curious how you do it.
thank you so much! I have my focus peaking set to Red High and I also have my focus checker turned on. If you’re not familiar with Focus Check, at the press of a button it will zoom in 200-300x so that you can make sure you’re in focus. it’s a super quick and useful feature.
Hey that video-shot of the second location was easily your best shot of him. You should shoot more from down below and a distance! Worked really well. Btw, the bat was kind of distracting to me. Like having him lean against the tree without it would have made a killer image to me. Enjoyed this a lot. Cool stuff.
I got the Pentax 50 1.7 from my dad and this is my favorite lens since 4 years on the GFX. I love it.
it’s so sharp!
These are incredible! Wow!
thank you!!
I love this set!

Loved the video and the pics, but do you need an adapter for the Pentax lens that’s on the camera?
@@kevinfabelo4701 thank you! yes, you need a PK to GFX adapter to use pentax lenses.
great vid. Been looking to add a 50r to my lineup.
thank you! I’d definitely recommend it
great shot !looking forward for your next one.but I do think you do better in landscape than portrait
