Thanks for doing this demo Paul. I still prefer the DD-3T but knowing there are options gives me a useful point of reference for the future. The clarity of the DD-8 is definitely super pronounced across the 3 models.
Excellent. I really like the DD7. The DD8 has some very interesting tings to offer.
I love my DD7.
DD3 is a legend and will remain so.
DD8 is everything the DD7 can do plus a little more and the sound is cleaner and more digital and bright. I’m not a fan of that sound. But that’s me :) so as I said, it’s the DD7 for me !!!

I've got a lot of delay pedals including the DD8 which is great for experimental messing around at home stuff but playing out I only need a touch of slapback. Probably my favourite of the ones I've got is the Boss Space Echo.
For experimental stuff and creative vibe, the DD-8 is great :) loads of fun but if I was to play live and just needed a basic delay, I would probably use the Boss DM-2w
More is more lol but yeah iam a set and forget pedal guy.....its nice to have all basses covered. Love the DM 2w though. 🤘🧟♂️🤘

I shouldn’t have watched this, my second dd7 just arrived and now I want an 8! The dd7 is brilliant though, love them all.
7 seems warmer, 8 seems clearer. All the features in the 8 make it hard to say no too.

@@PaulGlover DD-3T is the same DD-3, but it has a tap tempo. It seemed to me that it sounds closer to the Japanese version of the DD-3 than to the Taiwanese.
Yes, it does not have DD-8 options, but it is interesting to compare the digital mode. I think it will be different.

@@UMCmetal there are enough comparisons of Japanese and Taiwanese versions on TH-cam. They sound a little different. The Japanese version with a large chip sounds a bit bigger and softer than the Taiwanese one. Slightly more analog character of repeat. For this, in fact, they loved her then.

You have to realize the DD-7 has the possibility to do long delay times farther than just 800 milliseconds. The DD-7 can easily be set to do up to 3200 milliseconds and using output B you can double the max delay time to 6.4 seconds. So if you want to use long delay times for Frippertronics, drones, pads, etc. the DD-8 simply doesn't compete; even when using just output B to engage long mode it's max is only 1600 milliseconds. The extra effects you can get from the DD-8 (shimmer, Glitch, and Warp) just seem to be gimmicks that aren't practically useful for a lot of people. And that glitch mode is effectively the DD-3's hold function with a new name and slightly better implementation. The DD-8 seems to be a step back from what they were doing with the DD-7. It's like they've just ignored the previous versions of the DD-5, DD-6, and DD-7, and took the DD-3 and upgraded that with a modern day look and feel.
You have to also realise that it's different horses for different courses mate, the DD8s got some really amazing and very useful songs the dd7 just can't achieve. Stick to what you love man and enjoy, thanks to boss we have all the options in a small affordable package. I love both pedals, which is why I have them both. Just do you, but thank you for you use case man. 🤘🧟♂️🤘
@@PaulGlover Yeah, I get it. I'm still rockin' the Boss RV-2 reverb because I need something more lo-fi, than the ultra lush sounds of an RV-5/6. I was just shocked after watching reviews and checking the manual that it couldn't go longer. My uses for delay aren't really the typical uses anyway and after checking out a few more reviews I can understand it probably does work better for a lot of people, especially because of that trails on/off switch.
