    It is an amazing pedal, so versatile and so many sounds possibilities. With an extra pedal in, you have the tap tempo use, even without the extra pedal, just by pressing, but there's also an extra effect called TWIST. On the warp mode, you extend the note by pressing the pedal. And last but not least, the ping pong effect again, by pressing the pedal, on the last effect mode.

    • @endlessnameless01
      @endlessnameless01 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Davide how would you use the ‘twist’ mode, you said it is an extra effect. I have a Boss DD20 but thinking of selling it to buy the DD8, but I love the Twist effect.

    I love me self isolating delays! Sounds great (as expected), and with each new version, they sneak in some cool stuff; a far cry from my old guitarist's mid 80's version, lol. This really was upstaged by the 200 series; cool video, and great playing!

    This has a true stereo processing pathway. It does not sum to mono before applying the effect. The DD-2 - DD-7 all sum to mono before output. This maintains a true stereo sound in the effects loop of your stereo modelling system effects loop.

  • @RJW14
    @RJW14 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Got a DD3 myself, at the tail of my fx loop, it's simple, 3 general lengths of delay (I keep it on the longest) and a hold function where the length determines how long the section you capture is.
    In front of it I have my matthews astronomer and dimaond memory lane jr. Great combo.

    You're quite right about shimmer. The compounding octaves add up, and can become too much. It's easy for it to become an unpleasant mess. It requires a lot of filtering, and maybe even compression with some extended delay lengths. Shimmer is an effect I searched for many years. For a long time there were few options. Unless you had an eventide rack unit, a few plug-ins for your DAW you were out of luck. Boss took a long time to release this sound, but I'm happy they did it well.

    The pedal has a lot of nice features.
    I like all of them except, I don't think I'd ever find a practical use for "Glitch" in a normal playing situation. I know already I would probably never use it aside from a fun thing in between songs lol

      @TSFAHTPS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah absolutely...I’m feel the same...there are only a few pedals that do the shimmer thing without sounding cheesey and this is definitely one of them

    • @mattgilbert7347
      @mattgilbert7347 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@TSFAHTPS It's almost worth it just for that. But with the "secret" functionality of subdivisions, various routing options and the "glitch" and "twist" modes (total Ed O'Brian Radiohead territory) it's kind of a winner.
      Shame I just bought a NUX Duotime but it's not like Boss are going out of business anytime soon!
      Great stuff, guys. Currently binging your Mozztronics uploads. Such cool pedals.

    Hi Guys,
    Thanks for the demo. I have just started playing at 71 years young and I have just bought this pedal. I know absolutely nothing about pedals. Do I have to change the settings on my guitar, Fender Strat. when it's plugged in or does the pedal overide the guitar Tone, etc.
    Sorry for asking stupid questions.
    Kind regards.
    Greg.

      Probably because the DD-8 is not as good as the older Boss delay stomp boxes. Sure, it has some features... but the DD-8 is finicky at best, which is why it has already been recalled. My DD-8 doesn't even do stereo delay AT ALL (I've looked up the instructions to re-program it to stereo and it does NOT work). It's also very stupid that you have to re-program the pedal just to use it... aside from the fact that re-programing it doesn't even work. If you're thinking about getting a DD-8... get a DD-7 instead... seriously. The DD-8 is garbage.

    • @abdabtele
      @abdabtele 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The DD-8 is the ONLY compact Boss delay pedal that doesn’t sum to mono before outputting the effect. It’s a true stereo circuit. This comment above is by a muppet who can’t understand complexity. It’s a great delay pedal and sounds amazing on panning and wide stereo modes. Subdivisions can be set as outlined in the manual that most people won’t take the time to read.
