DD8 because it has all the features and modes and the DD7 because I prefer the more drastic mod setting on this one.

As an old guy who ditched his DD3 in the 90’s because it couldn’t do “tap tempo” 🤦🏼‍♂️, I IMMEDIATELY nabbed a DD3T when it was introduced. It’s the boss pedal we all used to pray for. ❤️

There's also a trick to make your guitar sound like a sitar: Put a dummy cable in the Direct out and another cable from Output to your amp. Set the Feedback at Max., Delay time close to 50ms and Level at max. I've done it with my early '90s pink label DD-3 way back in time...

I never had a Boss delay. In the early years, Dad got me a Fender Sidekick 15 Reverb, and my first few pedals were a KMD distortion, a Boss CE-2 and an Arion phaser. My next investment was straight to a rack full of Scholz Rockmodules, and shortly after, a DSP-128 so delay pedals didn't really get on my radar for a long time. Eventually, I did run a small pedalboard that included a few different drives and a ModTone delay, but that was always kind of supplemental to my rack setup. Just one of those things, I guess. I do still have the CE-2, it's the only pedal I've ever held on to.

I have all 4 Long chip variants and the reason I prefer them is the texture and punch of the repeat. Maybe not as compelling to many as the benefit of a tap tempo input but the way I’ve used them live is more like a tape echo or a slap where the time basically doesn’t matter lol. Great as always my mang!

i got one of these by accident lol, was intending to buy a dd8 but 'drink-drink-buy' meant i got a dd3t 😂. I do like it though. Use it in tandem with a reecho that does washy delays while the dd3t is dope for clarity, like leads etc when you still want space.

My first delay pedal was an Ibanez digital delay. Tried a few Boss delays over the years but never really found them inspiring. Currently going with a couple of Catalinbread delay pedals, and a TC Electronics Flashback (yeah, I'm Danish so I have to support TC Electronics, it's a rule). But you make this Boss DD-3T sound pretty damned good, I must admit! I briefly used a Tech 21 delay, it was great because of the tap tempo delay aspect, but it left very audible 'after sounds' when you switched it off. Kind of like a distant helicopter taking off. Playing that through a high gain rig just wasn't viable.
