Thanks for your videos Peter Iv had a really really tough year in regards to my health. Looking forward to that next part for my m3 and now my m4 has really helped. Im not really technical minded to be honest but having yous and tripple g Rogers videos look forward to seeing has really given me something to look forward to so thank you very much. Hope you and your family have a lovely holiday Peter
Thank you so much for your kind words and support John. Sorry to hear that you have been struggling with your health - hope you will be back at your peak soon! I have quite a few videos in the pipeline, so defenately something to look forward to - if you ask me😃
Cracking testing Peter. I've found the same with H&N slugs in .177, .22 & .25. FX barrels seem to love them. I've tested in Superior, Heavy & slug liners. Great results in all. My personal conclusion ot the softer H&N projectiles really suit the unique FX barrels.
Thanks for all of the awesome content Peter! I recently purchased an M4 and have too accidentally fired a shot early. 😂 I actually run the 16 grain Zan slugs out of my RTI P3 @ 830 FPS! Seems to do well so I don’t argue 😊 it has a 1:17,7 twist rate
Hi Peter, another great video, thanks for sharing with us all,I would say your new Mk 4 is very dialled in using these slugs and liner etc.like you said it's really good to experiment to find out what you can get out of your rifle etc.....by the way ....very good shooting skills too, must be said, kind regards,Phil.
10 grain JSB KO MK3 did NOT pass the test in the 600 mm standard liner yesterday, so i shot some pellets instead. Fortunately those tiny slugs fly excellent out of my Two, so i will just have to use Hades pellets in my pesting rifle, which is also ok i assume CUZ i have not tried those yet CUZ of course i forgot them at home. 10.4gr JTS domed, flew quite well in the wind out to 75 M, okay all over the 4-7" targets CUZ not minding the wind just shoot.
good videos very informative seems the H&N16g are shooting tighter groups. they are close to the jsb ko but i think the H&N shoot better. i will say try AEA slugs they shoot like pellets 890-950fps
Hi Peter, its been a long tine since I participated in the comments section although I had been following all yiur videos. By the end of next week I will, hopefully, have my own 0.177 M4 and I am very much looking forward to 'play' with it. I do have some questions for you, though, I would appreciate having your comments on : 1. Is there a reason for not tuning your M4 to 20 grain slugs ? Your M3 was also tuned to 16gr. 2. Have you experienced any erratic behaviour from your M4 in any way, which resulted in inconsistent groupping or velocity spread ? I heard that FX expects the gun to 'settle down' after a few thousand shots !!! I really would appreciate your comments
Great that you have a new M4 on the incomming 😃 The gun has been erratic in terms of consistancy - velocity and accuracy. Accuracy is commin along but the spread is not like my M3. Most probably down to the difficulty in using my old (advanced) way of tuning. But getting to know the gun and the standard way of tuning is has performed quite well. But it does seem like its getting better. As for 16 or 20 gr I have just finished another video with the 20 gr Zan. I have made several videos with them before and my overall experience tells me that the 16 gr out performs them. I will make a huge slug test with 9 different slugs in a near future and with a different approach to the method of testing it will be pretty reliable. So for now the 16 gr still seem like the way to go, but new approaches to velocity and testing might prove me wrong🙂
@VikingAirgunner Many thanks for the information Peter, on both issues. I look forward to seeing your video on slug testing as it will add to any testing I will also perform. I will also see your videos on tuning the M4 before I decide which method to use myself 😊
You cant compare a random video to the best results of the M3. I have shot sublime groups with the M3 - no doubt, but the M4 has all ready done several groups below 20 mm. And I do have the 1st stage reg installed 🙂
Hi Jim I have had some good experiences with the regulators from Huma like many others, so installing those is not a bad idea. But if your 2nd reg is fine and fills fast there is not really a reason do change. The accuracy of the 1st stage reg doesnt matter. It has to be in working order - sure, but if it is on +/- 10 bar doesnt matter🙂
I absolutely loved it! And the only reason that I m not using it is that I cant remove the plug pinol 🙄 It has been Loctited in place and no matter what I have tried it is stuck. And saddly in the attempt to remove I spoiled the screw, so now I have to drill it out... And splinters close to the reg just frightens me, so I havent had the courage to do it yet. But when I find a method I will defenately install it 🤗
Thank you so much 👍 I dont know why you dont use Discovery Optics 🤔😜 If you meant why I dont use it - I had one a while back and it was a great scope. Still the Titan is another league. Would be nice to have more magnification though. Like x36 😎
The barrel tuner is a great idea, but as I mentioned in the video it requires some effort to find the sweetspot. So with me testing so many different parts and ammo it would make each test seem endless. For a competition setup it makes sense, but that is something you work on for a very long time with minor adjustments as you move along. Now using the TRS Rail from Saber Tactical the barrel tuner doesnt make sense since it has the clamp close to the muzzle. So on a free floating barrel and if you dont change your setup/ammo much it is a good idea. And I tested on both 700 and 600 mm, only to have a positive effect on the long barrel.
Hi Peter. Finally getting cold here in Ohio, USA. I’m not as brave as you in getting out in the cold! Would you say your M4 is better than prior M3. I have M3’s in 22 and 30 cal and dynamic in 25 cal. For me, I usually get similar size groups at 50 meters. Good enough for me.
It surely feel like sacrificing my fingers going out there right now 😂 Honestly I liked my M3 better bcs I could tune it to perfection. I do like the new trigger and top rail better, but chosing between them the M3 is still the winner in my book. They are supposed to be the same in many areas, but my experience is different. I would have sold the M3 no matter what, but as for right now I would take the M3.

I’d say h&n is actually a relatively harder lead compared to fx or jsb.

Maybe an idea to go low for me aswell with the Zans 😃
@ can’t hurt to try!😁
Great job! and above all, great group!
Congratulations
Thanks Peter yet another fantastic video 😊
Thanks John 🙂
Amazing results

Awesome video peter thanks for sharing what about at a higher fps anyway thanks for sharing be safe buddy 💯

Do they make slugs for 177?🤔

Awesome 👌 🎉
Thank you for sharing your experience. I still seen M3 giving better groups . 2200$ M4 without first regulator and this groups 💔

@VikingAirgunner Sure I know you did add the 1st regulator 🥰
Do you think changing out both Reg’s to Huma Regs would be an improvement ? What are your thoughts on the Huma moderator?
Thanks Jim

Why do you not use the angle gauge on the M4 ? You liked it so well on the M3

Decent groups you got there mate, they're just amazing. But i think you might need a proper rear rest 😀
You just might be right 😃 Mine is not optimal😂
Hello Peter, i meant to ask you how you liked that barrel tuner as i no longer see it on your gun.
was that the 700mm you tested it on?
The barrel tuner is a great idea, but as I mentioned in the video it requires some effort to find the sweetspot. So with me testing so many different parts and ammo it would make each test seem endless.

Bonito equipo y tirada saludos
Twist rates options are limited.
If they offered higher twist then the higher grain and more accurate 177 slugs would be viable.
It would be nice with a few options, but yes, 177 is not the main focus, so the challenge is to get the best out of whats accessable 🤗
Have you ordered the new m4 trs rail? Looks good
Yes and all ready working on the review 😇
@ I have one on its way to me for my m3. It will be interesting to see if adding extra clamps will help or hinder results
Don't tell me your hear got in your eyes !! 😂 and u pulled the shoot
My last hair did that 😂
I just buy m4 I open barrel have 2hole are one for pellets one for slug ? Stock m4
Correct 🙂
👍
No worries it was very obvious from the timing that that one shot was accidental
Less really is more sometimes 😮
Have to agree 😃
