@@gmg7437 oaaffff well i have never smelled the newer Antaues formulation but I hear it lost all of its animalic twang.. and for new bel ami... i wouldnt even bother, i would go with bel ami vetiver if you cant find the shaker bottle or first reformulation of bel ami ... just one mans opinion 😊
@@RamseytheRam The newer formulation of Antaeus is, as weird as it may sound, more barnyardy than the vintage in the beginning but the roar lasts a few minutes, then it quickly fades and the performance is extremely poor. I love Bel Ami Vetiver, not as much as vintage Bel Ami, but great fragrance indeed!

Thanks for the support Victor... I dont know if I want my own brand (or lets say not yet!) I think I am much more just into enjoying & discovering the best fragrances the world has to offer. Starting your own brand has its own set of complications and stresses but I have to say that brands like Zoologist & Eugen's Les Abstraits are an inspiration as they are perfume for perfume lovers. If I ever have my own brand one day I would want to follow in Christopher Chongs footsteps & always try and create something new and unique & never remake something already made 🤌🤌🤌

Why is Guerlain among the designers
I always considered a Guerlain to be a designer... i think of them like Dior or Chanel... but I know some people consider them niche... although they do sell other products like make up / lipstick / eyeliner... i didnt included any of Guerlains "niche" line like Tonka Imperial or Rose Barbare etc....

I get tired of frags that I use for many years, so listing the best designers is tricky, as I have retired a few once-great ones.
If I have to list my current designers favs, I'd make a very short list of 6 TFs (Tuscan Leather being numero uno), Original/Italian DGPH, Dior ES, Vintage Kouros.
These are currently at the top of my chart.

I’m completely hooked on the Ocean Rain bottle and your detailed take on it. I have been trying to hunt down a realistic aquatic… is it more earthy-mineral or more aquatic-earthy? If that makes sense
From Memory I would say Mineral earthy but interestingly enough when I smelled le parfum de therese from frederic malle for the first time the other day the opening reminded me of Ocean Rain for just a quick flash... Ocean Rain is an aquatic I can get behind .. its like diving into the ocean a billion years ago as the ocean was & life was forming 😂😂😂
Its NOT an easy perfume to wear which makes it perfect for a perfume lover... its not just an easy breezy acquatic... its got this antiseptic vibe... very tough to describe but I think you will love it😊

Have you ever smell Mazzolari Lui? Some guys say that is made on the same idea as Kouros having a dirty-clean interplay.
I have never smelled anything from the brand of Mazzolari...but I already had Lui book marked on the to sniff list... so someone told me about it b4 but I have yet to smell it hopefully I can explore the brand soon👍🏻

Givenchy gentleman EDT from 1974 was still in the top ten! I still love it.... its one of my favorite patchouli fragrances of all time! Thanks for the kind words and I am so glad you were part of our fragrance tribe during year 1 🙏
Just wondering if you’ve tried recently discontinued CK Dark Obsession. About a year ago bottles could be found for $20 and now they’re pushing over $100. Pretty solid frag that I’m sad to see go as it was my signature for a few years.

@@RamseytheRam Looks like a sweet fragrance with a nondescript spicy floral mid and mint to add some lift. Perhaps somewhere between Moschino's Uomo and Lapidus' BlackSoul Imperial?
