Wow…. Marathon of a video and such an eclectic list of fragrances..
You won’t believe it….. But I found a 4oz bottle of Royal Mayfair at a rack store about 5-years ago… TJ Maxx I believe right be the Holidays..
$149….. I was just getting back into fragrances at that time… and before theny collection had only hit about 40 bottles… and being younger at the time you can imagine that they were all main stream designers… I had probably about 80-90 bottles when I found it… point being…. I knew Creed.. But Aventus, GIT was about it…
Rolled the dice…. Watched some videos and knew I was most likely getting into a fragrance I would not like… and as you say… it took some time.
Now…. One of my favorite masculine rose scents… phenomenal.
Some perfume takes time for us to enjoy ... thats the beauty of the journey.. like you I now love Royal Mayfair... I will do a comparison video with Windsor one day soon 🙏🙏🙏

I’ve been watching your videos more recently & sub’d. I said to my friend over the weekend that a reviewing is an art and you know someone is good when they make you want to blind buy perfume without monetary promotion. I Love how 3 fragrances I own are in your top 10! I also rank Anubis higher than Salome in my collection. It’s nuclear stuff, less is more for me. I really need to try Jubilation 25 man it seems! Never smelt to date, hopefully not too much of a difference between old and new batches. I own Amouage Leather Sadah oil, have you tried it? Thank you for another great video- can’t wait to explore your list more!

There's probably quite alot to be said about early fragrance influences...my old man wasn't into cologne, so I had little, but my eldest who's only 11 already has more bottles than I had as a young guy!.... basically I've passed down things that aren't for me or too young smelling: d&g blue Intense, Prada L'homme intense, mugler amen / ultra zest, paco rabanne ultrared, farenheit parfum... and on special occasions, he's worn my escada magnetism as he's also a fan of the soda/cola notes 😁

I am glad that Vanissia is in your top five because I buy it because you and I found you because Vanissia, they were selling a new bottle from and old batch and basically you are the only one that talks about it, and it is a gem, I had the opportunity to buy Vanissia and Jasmin Imperatrice at the same time. I was very surprised that my husband compliment this last one he said that smell stunning. I was very lucky to find those two old batch brand new 💛💛

The first two are big favorites in my family, M was the perfume my father wore on my sister's wedding day, I wore Diaghilev. My sisters have very modern tastes as far as modern perfumery is concerned, you know, they like sugary perfumes but they both succumb to Puredistance M. Congratulations on the 4k subs, Ramsey!!

Hey Ramsey, I was both vindicated and a little intimated when Diaghilev was placed at the top (again lol). Ever since trying a sample, I just couldn't get enough, but I don't know if I have the strength to hit enter on that $800 order 😭So far I've tried an 80s Mitsouko and looking to buy a 90s cosmair Polo Green, but I've yet to smell a better chypre that smells so classic and beautiful.
Thanks again for the massive video and expertise, do you have any advice for hunting vintage frags? It seems like ebay is just a crapshoot of listings without any labels or codes in the pictures. I've almost been finding more success in building relationships through messaging people randomly on forums and asking them directly what they're willing to sell.
Diaghilev is brilliant but so i old mitsouku🤌🤌🤌
If you buy from ebay buy from trusted sellers or use people like Mudassir on basenotes or Anooj from Enchante 😊

It depends on what you consider to be a designer house, but I think you included a designer fragrance in this list. Comme des Garcons is a fashion house. However, their fragrances are more niche than most of today's "niche" houses.
Fair shout ... i always consider comme des garcons niche but you are correct in that they have clothes and a fashion line so they should be a designer 😊
What is your opinion about current Frederic Malle formulations?
And that bottle of Sunshine Man must be a fairly current formulation since it came out in 2015?

I used to think Frederic Malle did great reforms until I smelled the newer versions of Noir Epices & Iris Poudre... I try and buy the pre-estee Lauder bottles whereever I can now 😊

Those decants will be full bottles soon, simply because you deserve the best and for showing us so many great descriptions and reviews in this fragrance land.
I would ranked Chypre Palatin a little bit higher on this kind of list, and you know the reason, but Jubilation xxv and Diaghilev took their perfect places.
I guess that in 1923. Mitsouko would be number one on 20th century version of Ramsey, but a century later we have Diaghilev for that role.
It is really a big Baroque Chypre, perfect for listening Bach's Brandenburg Concerts !

That's funny that you've mentioned that "if you run a country - Amouage Gold is for you" coz as far as I remember Amouage Gold Men is one of the favourite perfumes of Mr. Putin, the ruler of dear Russia :D :D :D
And I totally agree that Oligarch is a better version of Terre, it's more complex, richer, probably has more naturals in it coz it smells less synthetic than Terre, with all respect to Terre... :)

dude i got my bottle of gold man and the sample of figment today.....jesus christ, my friend....
first off the gold was sort of what i envisioned before smelling it, i get why people say its similar to chanel no. 5 but i get other similarities to other things (including no. 19) and it frankly smells more luxurious than both. its kind of crazy how it goes back and forth between soapy and animalic, i get alot less powderiness after 45 mins-hour. the civet starts shining hardcore. i really, really like it but i feel like id def have to be dressed up to wear this and not feel weird.
but the figment, dude.....bro this is one of the best things ive literally ever smelled. if i had known, this would have been my first amouage or at least one of the first. this is RIGHT up my f****** alley lol, its 100% love at first sniff to me. the things the adult children say about it is absolutely disgusting, if i could only wear one fragrance this would be top 3 choice for my signature scent. this is me trying to be concise lmao, i loooooove figment and i could go on and on more than i already have. most perfect earthy scent ever made possibly.
p.s. im out of lil bottles so as soon as i get more ill send that AdP

I think Guerlain is niche, at least according to the definition that a niche company only makes perfume and not clothes and fashion. And historically, they only made fragrance. Now they do some makeup. But I guess you put it in the same category as Chanel and Dior. I would have guessed that Guerlain would have been on this list.

What a daunting task! Kudos! Excluding samples and travel sizes, I have 45 fragrances, and of those 45, 25 different houses are represented (14 niche, 11 designer). If I was asked 10 days in a row to rank those 45 fragrances, it would change every day. My top 10 doesn't really change, but trying to properly rank the rest seems like an exercise in futility.

I am addicted mate - everyone has his scent. It’s Beach Hut Man for me. I own 6 Amouage, smelled the whole line, Beach Hut is it for me. So long lasting, so fresh. I should probably buy backup bottles as long as Fishman keeps it in production.
Sunshine Man starts getting expensive (as out of production). They really ask up to 500€ on the bay. Crazy, sometimes Beach Hut is available discounted for 265€…

He said, he can’t tell that to anyone else: I told him, I am usually spending 20k in my vacation in Thailand for 20 years. It’s all good. What makes you happy is worth the money…

Will take me a while to get through this, but your mentioning how you need to drag out all the bottles for videos got me thinking how you really don’t need to; we can look up the bottles if we’re curious, and a lot of the time we’ll know what a bottle looks like anyway. (E.g., we all know what a Chanel Exclusif bottle looks like.) Make it easier on yourself, pal. Book reviewers don’t show the book necessarily, you know?
Yeah but this is youtube and believe it or not showing the bottles is a big part of it... if I was technologically savvy enough to put a bottle on the screen through the magic of technology that might be different.. but nah I am stuck taking em out and putting em back 😆

This list was so good that I would be happy with just the fragrances that didn't make the cut. Also, whenever you finally make your own fragrance you have already named it and didn't know it..."Hommage au Passé" which Google tells me is French for Homage to the Past and we all can't wait to try it!!

Questions: My best girlfriend in France wears Mitsouko. She is married to the House of Guerlain and she will not waver. She will once in a while wear another Guerlain fragrance but Mitsouko is her signature. I love how whenever I smell this fragrance I identify it with Brigitte. You, however, are a perfume genius. I mean, with every video, your knowledge and incite jumps through the screen. Because you love so many types of fragrances, do you have one perfume which you would say is your signature? Is there a perfume which others around you identify as being you?
Nope i wear to many things all through the day... but a Guerlain or Chanel wouldnt be a bad signature scent IMHO

Brother my niche journey started in 2015 with a bottle of green irish tweed. From the time i opened the box i instantly understood what the hype about niche is all about. I got hit with a creamy woody lemon verbina note and i was so in love. I live on kauai hawaii and im shure no body ever smelt anything like it because i never get compliments here at that time but when i started using green irish tweed i was getting compliments daily. After i used that bottle i went on to expand my niche with killian , more creed(2017 bottle aventus😍) and parfums de marly. Also have many mfk baccarat rougue 540 extrait. After a couple years i tried to get a new bottle of green irish tweed and never could get the same smell as the 2015 bottle i had. I literaly had to return a bottle from fragrance x because it sucked so bad. Was wondering if u had any older green irish tweeds u would like to sell(atlease pre 2019 when creed went down hill. This would literaly make my year brother please help me.
Sorry man I do have an older GIT but my collection isnt for sale... you will have to scour ebay or mercari looking for older bottles
