People return to this song every once in a while, and not just because it captures Skyrim perfectly, but also because it is damn good to listen to.
Someone needs to make a mod that plays this in Jorrvaskr, complete with a bard band performing, and the warriors singing along to the chorus. Bonus points if an the modder adds a working accordion into the game.

I used the Becoming a Bard mod and added this song to my songbook. I waited until I was a Master Bard and performed it in a very crowded Bannered Mare (thanks to Lively Inns and Taverns mod), with my Dragonborn doing vocals and playing the lute, Serana on the flute, and Myoll the Lioness on drums. The crowd went crazy with applause. Best thing I've ever done in Skyrim.

It's funny but I have a few "Bardic" mods in my load order as well, and this also came to mind. That and installing one of the various "realistic needs" mods where the alcoholic effects would be greater. I'll have to try it next time I have time to boot up a game.

Here's a funny little fact about mead: in Germany we call a mead that's made with cherry juice instead of water "Vikings blood" or "Odins blood". And if you add galangal and grains of paradise or other firery spices into the fermenting mix, you end up with a spicy red mead that's called "Dragon Blood" :D
That sounds like one hell of a way to celebrate your twenty-first!
You can sometimes find viking's blood mead in the UK too- lovely stuff. I got hold of a bottle of Hawksmead Viking blood mead in York a few years ago.
York is pretty good for finding mead in generally actually, which is great. It has gotta be one of my favourite drinks! I have drunk it whilst listening to this song on more than one occasion for sure!

When I drink with my father, we tend to start singing. I don't know if this matters, or if anyone cares, but he didn't know this song when I started singing it. Mead is such a wonderful drink. It's simple and tasty, and creeps up on you. You can be drinking with friends and having a wonderful time, not realizing just how much you've downed, then you stand up, fall over, and start laughing.
As someone who has been brewing their own mead for the past few years, I can attest to this. Truly, proof that the gods love us and want us to be happy!!

The taste is as epic as the name, and since it has the added bonus of preventing you from drowning, you can chug it more and faster than you could ever do with mead. Ngl, this music video made me want to start a Nord character in Survival who always drinks Nord Mead after every battle won.
For all of you in the modders community I know that I can't mod myself but if you can how about adding this song to some of the bards in Skyrim. This would be awesome considering that most bards hang out in taverns where everyone is drinking so please consider it and post it on the Nexus because Steam is kinda exclusive for people who bought it that way.
There are mods the let you insert custom music into the game. And not just for background music, but also for stuff like bardic music too.
