I just love the line: "In the past we had secretly enjoyed putting down a local insurrection or two. They kept the troops sharp and the Empire feared... but these rebels were different. They were organized, they were growing, and they were everywhere..."

Indiana Solo And the Fellowship of the Ewoks ironically the missions were "bland". But more enjoyable than any game released today. It was those 501st Journal clips that gave the levels a sense of legitimacy and weight.
Peddo Bear indeed. However half of the Rebels stationed there were able to escape. But at that point the Empire was the closest it ever was to winning the Galactic Civil War. The Clone Veterans and the Elite Recruits were either transferred or retired and were replaced with newly recruited soldiers on Endor. The Rebels also sabotaged Imperial Armor Production Facilities resulting in the Troopers having substandard armor (Real world reason is because they sped up the Molding process for Stormtrooper armor so that they had enough for the film resulting in armor that looks less "refined" than in ANH and ESB)
Many of the 501st died. The stormtroopers on Tantive IV were all 501st troopers.Vader almost never fought with troopers from another legion, battalion,ETC.
Mera Anyone can read a script, but it takes an actor to show emotion with what they’re given, not to mention Baker had to give each and every clone a different tone.
*That theme on Felucia scared me as hell when I was a kid and played BFII. I was so scared to go alone in the ''forest'' and find those spider monsters there so I grabbed a tank and drove in*
tyler forinno Yeah your right but I meant that the imperial 501st isn't clones anymore The clones were all decommissioned from being stormtroopers The 501st (empire) are clones but I they are not jango fett clones most though is just highly trained humans.
PikaTLs Was here but what do you mean the 501st Aren't clones any more thx to Disney the 501st went out of commission during the original trilogy when lucasfilm was not bought by Disney
There were more clones in legends now thx Disney It isn't confirmed the status of the 501st in the new cannon only the fate of the clones Just watched a video,Clones barely are in the Empire Most of them left the Empire, died or became instructers for the Empire. Jango fett dna gotten weakened cause because jango fett body couldn't be found so It effected the clones so it lead them to not becoming troopers though that's just a theory from me maybe there are some stormies that are clones but barely any unlike Legends
Hearing the clone talking about how decimated the legion was after the first Death Star it’s such a great line when you hear “I’ve fought with some of those men for over 20 years” that it always makes me say wow when I hear it
I feel like clones lost a lot with that chip cliche, BF2 show us they were aware of orders and have his own thoughts, but still are loyal soldiers till the end.
I agree. It makes them seem more like clones. I realise they went through the chip idea because they made an entire TV show that humanises the clones to make them likeable, but having a chip inside their heads devalues the fact that they're clones. They value each other and they are born, bred and trained for the good of the republic. If you give them chips in their heads and some of them disobey that order by taking out those chips, then those clones are traitors to the republic and to their brothers and are going against their very nature. It just seems strange to add a chip in. It also makes it more difficult to believe that they managed to hide a chip from the Jedi. Whereas if the clones just received a message saying that the Jedi have betrayed the republic, then the clones are honour-bound to eliminate the Jedi. It actually makes the Clones seem more human xD
Mascamuelas Smith It was stupid, and not by the chip itself. -Anakin and Rex knew about it. -The Jedi order, knew Count Dooku ordered the clones. so... The Jedi knew the clones had chips that altered their behavior, and they saw not one, but two cases. At same time they found the guy they are fighting to, created their own warriors. WTF??? Idk if they tried to make the Jedi look far beyond stupid, or the writers are the stupid ones... Plus that chip ruined the traitor concept.
I'd say that the chips make Order 66 make a lot more sense though: remember that Jedi can easily sense killing intent, and even if they did befriend the clones over the course of the war, they would know with clarity how much their own soldiers were going to kill them. In KOTOR 2, HK-47 gives a very detailed tutorial on how to kill a Jedi, and notes: "I have heard that Jedi have the ability to see the future, and I do not know if it is true, but sudden actions seems to be more effective than planned incidents." Sure, Palpy had planned this, but the Clones sure as hell didn't.
Well the clones in battle would have had killing intent already, explaining why the Jedi that were already in battles were taken down so quickly. However various Jedi like Yoda and Ki Adi Mundi sensed a change in the force and sensed conflict in the clones and realised their betrayal. Albeit some a bit too late. So it did happen. And a lot of Jedi managed to escape order 66 too. But I do see your point. It would have been difficult to cover it up, but not all Jedi were powerful enough to notice this change in the clones and the Jedi were arrogant in their belief that the Sith only had control over the Seperatists.
GamingPro1003 Without the chips a few clones disobeyed order 66. Either through believing that it was a separatist trick or just not receiving the order. The idea that more than 'a few' clones would have disobeyed the order is silly in my opinion. Those clones were breeded and raised to fight and die for the republic. To disobey an order to hunt down traitors would be to go against their very nature. It's highly unlikely that any of them would have disobeyed it. And in some sense, none of them did. The clones that thought it was a trick were a delta force, so they had advanced thinking abilities. They later rejoined the empire. The clones that didn't receive the order, technically didn't disobey it.

I thought the one on Naboo was harder, because of the Naboo Queen kept killing all of my troopers/reinforcements (who was basically just a reskinned Leia). Then I figured out I should just shoot her with a rocket instead.
I know these events aren't canonically only the 501st, but the audio is from the original Battlefront II (2005). Tell it to Lucasarts lol. And to anyone saying I "stole" this video from another channel called REX, no. I never saw his videos before I made this, I got the idea myself, and edited this myself because I wanted to make a tribute to Star Wars. I looked up the REX channel after getting these comments and his videos are good, but I think what I did is different. Thanks.
Believe it or not the reason y the events in the movie aren't exactly accurate to being feats of the 501st is because by the time we see them in the movies the 501st had already pulled out.
I would buy it in a heartbeat if it was exactly the same, just with the new graphics. They wont do that though, because that would be too close to admitting that the originals were better than thier game. Cant have that right?
@@AaronMosmeyer So I suppose Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin could be presented as heroes? Iden made the right choice. It seems you've forgotten the Empire destroyed Alderaan.
Well the rebels destroyed the Death Star, killing about as many people as on Alderaan. The Empire is simply the government trying to keep the Rebel terrorists in line. The Emperor truly believes he is doing what is right to save the galaxy. Hell, in the movies often times the Stormtroopers will attempt to simply arrest the Rebels, but the Rebels simply shoot the Stormtroopers without a second thought. Stormtroopers are literally just soldiers serving their government. My favorite faction is actually the Republic, but the Rebels aren't benevolent. And don't bring real people into this, Star Wars is 100% fiction. I know it has some real world basis, but it's definitely not a fair comparison.
Wow! I'm surprised with what you did with Scarif! The Iden bit could have been better but you probably didn't have a lot to work with, so it's perfectly fine honestly
Thanks! Yeah, I had to use audio from Battlefront II, the Inferno Squad audio book, and... a Jimmy Kimmel skit... Just wanted to show the transition into the First Order.
Im crying when the 501st clone said Layla secura said they were the bravest clone units she had ever seen and that they dared not look her in the eye traumatising gives me chills
I would have recommended the Republic Commando novels, but those books are pure ass. Delta Squad isn't (the squad from the game) even really in it too much, and when they are, they're presented as though they're assholes that suck compared to Omega Squad
Mascamuelas Smith the 501st comprised of non-Fett clones in both Canon and Legends. There were numerous recruits for the 501st that served in Legends. Over a hundred years after the Galactic Civil War in Legends, the 501st opened up to non-humans as well.
Mascamuelas Smith While I agree. Episode IV does present the Stormtroopers that boarded the Tantive IV as having different voices.... So maybe the 501st had a Clone specific Unit and the rest were only the most elite volunteer/conscripts that didn't become Death Troopers or Imperial Commandos.
Richard Ched after the clone uprising on Kamino the empire decided that having its entire army composed of a single template was too prone to corruption. So they started making clones outside of the Jengo Fett model using DNA from other humans.
Somehow just stumbled across this hidden gem, I choked up a bit watching and listening to this. Brings back so many great memories, not just when Star Wars wasn't a money grab with no sensible plot or character development, but also when even the games were so good in particular Battlefront 2 brings back so many memories of playing with my brother and our friend. Battlefront 2's campaign was a masterpiece and the narration was incredible.
Ah man this is so cool, great work bro! They should have continued the 501st journal story line in the new battlefronts! What were they thinking? It would have been so cool, I feel like they are just trying to completely forget about the old battlefronts, the ones we loved. They even stole the names, instead of naming them battlefront 3 and 4 they named it battlefront 2015 and battlefront 2 2017 or whatever the years are. That really pisses me off. Inferno squad was fairly cool until they completely ruined it by making Iden turn on her own troops and just start slaughtering them all. She was supposed to be special ops, which means she doesn't let stuff like her planet being destroyed get to her, but they had her become a 'good guy' and fight against the empire/ first order, and it was so cliche and stupid. I thought it would finally be a game where we get the point of view from the empire for once, but no she became a rebel. Sorry for the long comment lol.
Thanks, man! Yeah, bad guys becoming good guys is so cliche in Star Wars video games. I mean we’ve seen yle Katarn, Darth Revan, and Starkiller all did it too. Would’ve been awesome if Iden stayed with the Empire.
Disney and EA refused to let them keep going with the Imperial Story. Dice had no choice but to make her turn. It is all on EA and Disney. Dice is a victim as they really did want to keep it solely from the Empires point of view.
Battlefront III and Battlefront IV would have been made by Free Radical (yes even a Battlefront IV was being planned out, and concept art from that game exists online). This is EAFront aka fake Battlefront aka that one nobody cares about.
Bespin *Intro* "After the victory on Hoth, we thought we'd finally get some R&R. But lord Vader had other plans. He was determined to find the rebel hero Luke Skywalker. Our reliable Hunter, Fett, led us to Baspin. Where his friends Han Solo and Leia had taken refuge. They would serve as bait. But despite the assurances of it's smooth talking governor, not everyone on that mining colony was kept in the dark on our arrival. Forcing us to put them down..." *Outro* "With the situation contained all we had to do was keep the prisoners secure. Vader had plans for Skywalker that much was made clear when he test froze Han Solo in Carbonite and gave him to Boba. At first we thought this dogged pursuit was simply for revenge over the humiliation of the Death Star. In hindsight, we should have realized that a father would do anything to find his son. I don't think any of us had seen something as chilling, as when he walked off that bridge in silence..."
The 501st last entry was in the Battle of Hoth. This means the one who wrote the journal must have died in the Battle of Endor or the Battle of Jakku. Vader must have been proud that the 501st clones died with him.
I absolutely loved the 501'st journal from SW:BF2. Some of those entries, especially the one that you hear after the Death Star mission...how the veteran talks about how a good majority of the surviving 501'st were still on board the Death Star when it blew..gives me chills every time.
This was one of the greatest things I ever saw. The music, Battlefront 2 sfx with the mix of scenes from different sources....this was like a freaking experience man. Chills, chills, chills. This was 100x better than any Disney ramble.
OscarMike I'm not sure, heard that the stormtroopers were mostly the same actor and same voice.i think story wise they were clones but in reality i don't think the actor of jango fett was their. I was replying to another guys comment about Commander stormtroopers.
Start reading books. It's quite boring at first, but it's not like you have to read it all at once. When you get into the story though, you'll want to read more. 'Lost Stars' is an easy SW book to read that shows some of the Imperial side of things.
Yeah, let's support the racist imperial power who takes aliens as slaves and genocides entire species and destroys entire planets killing billions just to make an example! The same one that was based on nazi Germany! Yes, let's support and sympathize with them. That's a great idea.
Clumsy If you think the Empire's as simple as that, then you really don't know enough about Star Wars and probably not enough about life either. It's not as black and white as you make it out to be, there's another side to every story. And the Empire has nothing in common with Nazi Germany other than a leader that took their country into greatness, only to destroy it with their own conceit and stupidity. Besides that, nothing in common with Nazi Germany. The Empire doesn't really relate to any single country, but various different countries throughout history. Imperial Army = British Empire Army Imperial Tactics = USSR Tactics Imperial Senate = Roman Senate Emperor = Hitler Death Star = US Nuclear Weapons. That type of thing. "racist imperial power" Not all Imperials were racists. In fact only a small number of them were actual racists. However the Emperor adopted this 'Humans are dominant' mentality because it helped his cause and increased production. "takes aliens as slaves" Well I mean Earth has a long long history of slavery, it being the most prevalent in the middle east and in Africa. The Empire however did not make their slave trade known throughout the galaxy. Most Imperial soldiers and citizens didn't even know that the Empire was committing such atrocious acts. In fact this slavery was the cause of a large portion of Imperial defectors. Not like i'm condoning their actions of course, but it's not like every Imperial is bad just because the Empire has done something bad. "genocides entire species and destroys entire planets killing billions" Just to correct you they killed millions, not billions. Most planets in Star Wars don't have very high populations. More reminiscent of the United States than Nazi Germany. The atomic bombs off in Hiroshima and Nagasaki justified their acts for saving the lives of American soldiers. The Death Star justified itself in that the rebels (Who were unjustified in their military actions at this point and very unpopular amongst the people, treated as terrorists) were murdering thousands of Imperials. Again, i'm not saying I condone everything here. I'm just saying that people want to understand the Empire and the Imperials. What's going through their minds and why did they want to do such things? People are usually good people, so what made them think that these were good ideas? What drove them so far into a corner that they abandoned the morals? Did they do it just for honour? People are just curious. And some people just find it fun to play as the bad guy in a game every now and then.
Besides if the rebel alliance never happened, the Empire was the best thing that ever happened to the Galaxy. Like I said previously, the Rebels were unjustified terrorists at the start. They attacked military targets and killed imperials simply because they didn't like the monopoly of power on Palpatine, but his monopoly of power was completely legal so they had no reason to raise up in arms. Rebels were just spoilt brats at the start of the war. It wasn't until Alderaan was destroyed that people started looking at them as the 'good guys'.
@@godzillavkk Its not the fact itself that the Empire is evil. Its the redemption/defection story. We've had that for ages and its been in almost all (now Legends) Star Wars games. Rogue Squadron had Crix Madine defect, Force Commander had Bren & Dellis Tantor defect, Dark Forces was about Kyle Katarn, an ex-Imperial turned pro-Rebel mercenary. EA showed Battlefront 2 with lots of promise that Iden Version would be this ultra-loyal Imperialist who would hunt the Rebels to the end of the galaxy post-Endor but 10 minutes into the story she is yet another defector.
I don't like the way Iden defected nor do I think that original swbf2 campaign was bad (I found it interesting) but it's not exactly 'awesome' storytelling - I mean its just some voiceovers and a series of custom private battles. Nothing special

Indiana Solo And the Fellowship of the Ewoks was it quiet though?
Aaron didnt they kill they destroy the Rebels on Hoth?
Epilogue:
We all died of old age
A good death for someone who is suposed to be expandable
None of the men of the 501st died in battle or maybe they never died at all...
Many of the 501st died. The stormtroopers on Tantive IV were all 501st troopers.Vader almost never fought with troopers from another legion, battalion,ETC.

ALEJAMBICHO Bad that clones aren't in the 501st anymore thx to Disney.
PikaTLs Was here the 501st is Cannon tho so they could make a spin-off in the Clone Wars era
tyler forinno Yeah your right but I meant that the imperial 501st isn't clones anymore
The clones were all decommissioned from being stormtroopers
The 501st (empire) are clones but I they are not jango fett clones most though is just highly trained humans.
PikaTLs Was here but what do you mean the 501st Aren't clones any more thx to Disney the 501st went out of commission during the original trilogy when lucasfilm was not bought by Disney
There were more clones in legends now thx Disney
It isn't confirmed the status of the 501st in the new cannon only the fate of the clones
Just watched a video,Clones barely are in the Empire
Most of them left the Empire, died or became instructers for the Empire.
Jango fett dna gotten weakened cause because jango fett body couldn't be found so
It effected the clones so it lead them to not becoming troopers though that's just a theory from me maybe there are some stormies that are clones but barely any unlike Legends
Mascamuelas Smith
It was stupid, and not by the chip itself.
GamingPro1003
Without the chips a few clones disobeyed order 66.
Even though this is legends, *I WILL NEVER STOP LOVING THE ORIGINAL 501st*

Mascamuelas Smith TruEu no legends

Are you telling me it wasn’t just like the simulations
Tired of seeing things from the rebels side. I'm a full supporter of the empire and a such I wish to see all stories from an imperial perspective.
Clumsy
If you think the Empire's as simple as that, then you really don't know enough about Star Wars and probably not enough about life either.
Imperial Army = British Empire Army
Imperial Tactics = USSR Tactics
Imperial Senate = Roman Senate
Emperor = Hitler
Death Star = US Nuclear Weapons.
That type of thing.
"racist imperial power"
Not all Imperials were racists. In fact only a small number of them were actual racists. However the Emperor adopted this 'Humans are dominant' mentality because it helped his cause and increased production.
"takes aliens as slaves"
Well I mean Earth has a long long history of slavery, it being the most prevalent in the middle east and in Africa.
"genocides entire species and destroys entire planets killing billions"
Just to correct you they killed millions, not billions.
