Imagine AI as a powerful telescope, allowing data analysts to explore vast galaxies of information with unprecedented speed and accuracy. However, like skilled astronomers, analysts will still be needed to contextualise, and draw meaningful conclusions from the vast cosmic dataset.
Whenever I see this kind of a comment, they seem to include the assumption that Human mind will be needed to draw a conclusion. But why do we think that A.I will not be able to draw conclusions and make sense of the Data. Chat GPT is able to do it, although with a lot of error sometimes, but this is just the beginning. AI can be trained to learn just like a human.
@@mo-chenu have to have data analytics knowledge to use it properly , Only copy pasting will not give answer. For me Chat got will make data analytics role easy.
Great as always, Mo. I also think that data people (or technical people in general) are the ones best placed to leverage and potentially implement these tools if needed
I feel like such a "Mo groupie," but I love your content! It's informative and easily digestible. This topic specifically has excellent timing. I joined LinkedIn a few weeks ago and the first night, I got incredibly overwhelmed by all the AI talk! I worried I was starting a path to another dead end. 😣 I absolutely love what you said about using AI and making yourself AI-proof. 👍
From what I am seeing is that artificial intelligence is good at things a computer could do. So, it would be good for repetitive logical problems and similar situations. However, considering that a lot of the time spent on data analysis is data cleaning according to what other people said. I doubt it could do the job by itself, and even still, it should be watched like how an employee would.
Agreed. AI should and definitely will be under some kind of regulation. In Banking, it already is. AI auditing could become the next most in-demand job 😃
@@mo-chenthis is true. My wife is currently working at payroll. Most of the computations are automated. But her job is to double check if there are an error or miscalculation.
Bosses can be replaced by AI as easily as analysts. For now, most bosses wouldn't know what to do with the data, without the analysts to guide them. And an analyst with AI will just get more done, so unless your org is already very data-mature at over 50% of its data leveraging potential, there really shouldn't even be any job losses, either. In fact, AI may be the thing that finally convinces more places to give their people real tech like Python and SQL, not just Excel and pre-gen reports.
Next step will be psedo data encription, they transform your corporate data into some "fake" datasets, so now you can do analysis of A vs B with completely different background premis, and no one will know it's your coporate data
The main concern is security... well then, answer the same question when ( who knows what months, weeks) some company came up with an app to solve that one... just 2 decades ago no one trusted online payment, or banking... you mean I get paid without holding the cash in my hand...???
as AI helps people to be more effective and more effective, I only need a fresh graduate with coding knowledge to train and fine tune it, instead paying some "experienced" person who demand vacations, and anual bonus... AI have made a huge structure change of employees who live off seniority....
It'll be harder for certain roles for sure, but AI will introduce new roles like AI auditing for example. I can see that turn into a whole industry down the line. Thanks a lot for watching 😁
Mo help me clarify this ' Is there a difference between a data analyst working in a finance industry and a financial analyst? If yes, what will you say is the main difference?' .
Yes, there definitely is. A data analyst in Banking is someone who primarily focuses on data, with a special domain knowledge of the financial services industry (ideally). A financial analyst will be someone who does true, core banking analysis like DCFs and stuff.
When AI gets implemented DA roles will get gradually absorbed into DS position resulting in job growth in DS. DA roles will decline and eventually be practically eliminated like book keeper clerks and bank tellers as these roles are absorbed into accounting and bank associates respectively.
Just keep on applying! Worry about AI replacing you once you already have a job. If they paged the role, they definitely think they'll need someone to do those tasks 😁
business, business, business... why data analysis only for business? why not for humane goals, for humans, for truth? for against commercializing of everything? are you human or a business robot?
Your domain knowledge will never be as good as your business stakeholders. When querying data becomes natural language driven, the biz people better off just do themselves. They can answer questions better than DA

Security is not an issue. Just use a local LLM. That's what we do.

Hey Mo Chen ! Loved your thoughts on This topic💖 .Should i choose my career as a Data Analyst in 2023 ? I'm so confused .
Make sure to do your research well before making a decision. Do what you feel like you want to do. I'm afraid I can't answer this one for you 😄
