For everyone: if you wanna succeed in DA or BI or DS, learn Excel, SQL, python, tableau, power bi and/or R depending on the course you will enroll or the career you will follow. This is maybe the most valuable advice you will get. Once you are on your course you will know why.
@@vishalmane3139 its all done by the tools... Long are the days when you had to build your own stat models or prob calculations and formulas. Most data analysts have no clue about stats other than parroting terms around and some generic definitions.
I used data camp for a year when I started my phd and completed data analyst data scientist career tracks twice that's 200 hours on data camp plus doing projects on the side. In my 3rd year of PhD I did all the analysis necessary to show my data in 2 days. I have helped other people from the consortium with their analyses and also build shiny apps. It's feels like cheating sometimes because it takes me 5 minutes to do something that would take hours in excel. Definite worth it
Summary: 1. Google Analytics Certificate. 2. Microsoft Learning paths. 3. Datacamp Data Analyst Career Track. 4. Tableau certified DA. 5. EdX Harvard Data Scientist.
I would say that if not the only way, than by far the best way to get into any Tech role as a self-taught person is to perceive respective Tech field as a hobby, and if you're unable to perceive it as a hobby, that field/role most definitely is not or you.
This just validated my notion that I need to get solid certifications from Microsoft and tableau. Legitimately not a coincidence but definitely a sign that I’m on the right path here. I appreciate you 🤝🏾

Speaking from experience, you need to treat your data skills development like a recipe book. You can have the best recipe in the world but you wouldn't stop after step 4 and take a couple of months away from the kitchen, and then wonder why no one wants to eat your cake. You have to keep at it

What he is saying is true. The path you should follow is go to data camp and learn your SQL and python or R and the visualization tool. Put those skills into practice by make a portfolio Take the Microsoft exams and keep applying for jobs.

Had Datacamp for years and had to cancel this year due to finances. But I can say with 100% certainty that it was a wonderful investment. Especially if you are new to a language or super rusty, the way they break it down for you is worth it.
@@ricomajestic a Udemy bootcamp with good ratings and Highest buyers will be a far better course. Google certificate only looks good on resume, with it you won't get any skills. They teach basics of basics and waste majority of your time with other crap. Udemy : data analytics bootcamp by Krish naik is great. If you want another recommendation, then codebasics data analytics bootcamp is best in my opinion.

For someone that's trying to figure out their life and career with no prior tech or Data Analysis experience, and very recently completed the Google Data Analytics Professional Certification (offered through Coursera), how should they be planning to gain some confidence/experience to become a Data Analyst? Not sure what kinds of DA jobs would be available to someone with a basic certification. I can't speak for everyone, but after completing the Google certification, it doesn't seem like I know a whole lot. Feels like I have basic exposure to everything involved in Data Analytics and that's it. I suppose another run through of the material (minus the fluffy stuff at the start) and self-teaching Excel, SQL, Tableau, and R would be the best approach. Would that be a correct assessment? I wish you had mentioned that Datacamp isn't the only place to get the 50% off for PL-300 and AZ-900 certifications. Coursera advertises the same 50% off vouchers for those certifications if you complete their professional certificates. In fact Coursera offers similar vouchers for even more certifications, if you complete their accompanying professional certificates. But ofcourse Coursera charges more and Datacamp seems to have better coding support. So if you just want PL-300 or AZ-900, Datacamp seems to be the way to go. But if you are eyeing more than just those two, which are available on Coursera, then Coursera might be the way to go.

Hey Melvin. Dataquest ken ik zelf niet, dus kan er weinig over zeggen.. Wat betreft je vraag over Excel: Als je al goed bent met Python kan je Excel binnen 1 week leren. Het gaat puur om het analytisch kunnen denken. Afhankelijk van je project hoef je Excel waarschijnlijk niet eens te gebruiken als je al goed bent met Python en SQL. Voor data visualisatie kan je Python gebruiken inderdaad, maar ik zou als ik jou was wat tijd steken in het leren van een BI tool zoals Power BI of Tableau. SQL + BI tool is een beetje het fundament van elke goede data analyst. Met jouw Python skills er bovenop heb je al een hele mooie skillstack te pakken. Succes man!

@@umairkhan0234 I won’t say it’s useless cause 1 you learn new skills that may help you in life even if you don’t get a job. 2 You still can get a job but it will be way harder to land the first one. I would try to switch positions in your current company at least that’s what I did ( Was working as an Interpreter now data analyst). But definitely worth learning no matter what.
@@umairkhan0234 I have a Bachelor degree but in finance (Accounting). But I don’t think that it’s matters that much, more that the people you working with already know you as a person, so even if you have no experience in that field they still know you as a reliable hard working individual.
What’s worse is a hundred hour course, that has a final exam with WRONG “ANSWERS” Eg. Course teaches 2+2=4 Final Test says correct answer is 7 What the F ?!
the Udemy course I took had a final course “practice exam” 3 hours limit, and even though I passed it (the official PMI PMP requirements 70%) the training course required 80% Having multiple bad answers, forcing the person taking the “practice exam” to have a lower than actual score earned. RECOMMEND READ THE REVIEWS of the course before taking it
@ the Udemy video instruction led course provides you the training REQUIRED CREDITS, before you allowed to pay for the real PMI PMP exam. But you have to pass the Udemy training test, before you get the required credits for the real exam

Can we get job without Bachelor degree in CS???.....beacuse if we take certificates can we get job on that basis or not or bachelor degree is compulsory
A bachelor degree massively helps to get that first job. Once you have work experience it becomes less relevant

@@umairkhan0234 I won’t say it’s useless cause 1 you learn new skills that may help you in life even if you don’t get a job. 2 You still can get a job but it will be way harder to land the first one. I would try to switch positions in your current company at least that’s what I did ( Was working as an Interpreter now data analyst). But definitely worth learning no matter what.

@@umairkhan0234 I have a Bachelor degree but in finance (Accounting). But I don’t think that it’s matters that much, more that the people you working with already know you as a person, so even if you have no experience in that field they still know you as a reliable hard working individual.

What’s worse is a hundred hour course, that has a final exam with WRONG “ANSWERS”
Eg. Course teaches 2+2=4
Final Test says correct answer is 7

the Udemy course I took had a final course “practice exam” 3 hours limit, and even though I passed it (the official PMI PMP requirements 70%) the training course required 80%
Having multiple bad answers, forcing the person taking the “practice exam” to have a lower than actual score earned.

@ the Udemy video instruction led course provides you the training REQUIRED CREDITS, before you allowed to pay for the real PMI PMP exam. But you have to pass the Udemy training test, before you get the required credits for the real exam

jup it's a lot, but it's Harvard.. Datacamp and the other certificates might be a better option if you're just starting out tho
