DESCRIPTION:
An L shaped plan form helps us organize the diverse programmatic concerns of a house for a family of four which is amalgamation of function and desires; individual vs collective, public vs private, formal vs informal, immediacy vs slowness, largeness vs intimate, openness vs security etc. The shorter arm along the east west direction houses the public spaces whereas the longer arm along the north south direction over two levels houses the more private needs of the house .The L shaped plan also helped us appropriate the unbuilt into an identifiable private rear courtyard or the outdoor room and the transitional forecourt addressing the street. The private courtyard can be seen as an anchor around which the house works. These spaces extend out into the this outdoor room which is treated as a pleasure garden punctuated with water, trees and decks encouraging informal engagement with the natural. Open spaces along the west is integrated into the longer arm blurring the boundaries between inside and the outside.
This organizational relationship of the built with the open spaces signifies our design intent of outdoors forming a integral and a crucial part of the living experience. Open spaces become counterpoints to the serial nature of the urban subdivided neighborhood where open spaces are usually about residues as a result of byelaws and the land is treated as an commodity to be exploited.
The house is designed to bring in a sense of intimacy and connection through subtle changes in the scales of the various spaces. We looked at the material of modernity, reinforced concrete forming the armature along with the traditional brick forming walls, floors , screens and vaults defining the spaces bringing in a sense of warmth. Privacy and security screens are made with brick and mild steel flats ,here the slenderness of the steel flat and its tendency to bend over long lengths is addressed with brick spacers which stiffens and integrates the individual flats to create unique textural surface. Fabricated steel stair over the skylight along the western wall leading to the terrace is detailed to enable maintenance of the skylight glass below it, Here the tread is detailed to incorporate a swiveling mechanism to allow for the access to the glass beneath it. All of this is complemented by harnessing natural light to create experiences and spaces the family can identify with and cherish. - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
We stay just parallel to this house and always keen to visit. The owner of this house were so kind and humble they allowed us to have a home tour. It's a masterpiece in a nutshell. I was very much impressed, I had taken your business card as well. Hope to work soon

It's always interesting to see these type of projects. It reminds me of a village & small town houses which is our real culture & tradition as well.
This channel has so many nice houses. Please include more images/video of the actual house or the architect can show the structures in the house instead of sketching on paper so we can get a better understanding.

At the face of it the space may appear to have been 'wasted' but it does impart a sense of tranquility to the structure, what we call Skoon in Urdu.
📍I really liked how seamlessly they separated public space (drawing room) from private room (drawing room, bedroom etc)

It really helps the environment and us ...In turn ....
The cost factor is something that needs to be addressed....It's organic and natural ....Doesn't have to be exorbitant ....

Yeah, maintenance is an issue. Bangalore is a city of dust. Very good scope dust accumulation.outside is okie.but inside very much inconvenience to clean. Yes brick act as an insulator.. thermally.That is why all around Bangalore, village house are with bricks..

how nice it is to use the servent rooms to buffer the house from the Western sun. the servents besides doing the works around the house....they also have to take the heat literally.

The entire house, plan, architecture are all good, but except one thing.. i.e. Pooja area, which almost arranged under the stairs, which I feel not correct.. But, otherwise, house looks so quiet, pleasant and peaceful. One would love to spend some quality time here
Very innovative... but ₹4500 /sq.ft is very very very expensive for such a simple structure. Does that include the land price too??
I know someone who spent almost 3 crores for a 3 bed home in 3 floors in a 40x60 plot with a true home theatre ... not surprised
for 4500/sq.ft... we can build two of these houses.. excluding land price

Most of the Indian middle class buy 30×40; provide design for such space; all these videos are for rich people ; its of no use for us

Architects loves it when there is too many restrictions in the site, 30 x 40 is more than enough for a residence, U can still build a beatiful home.

Really impressive. Aesthetic design. I have a plot more 25 x 65 in a prime area. I thought of selling it and buying a big plot. 06:32 how does the brick wall supported above the opening.. no lintel is used there?
There is a lintel in that opening. The brick has been cladded onto the lintel
brick cadding is done over there to hide the RCC lintel.

Guys please use a similar sized whiteboard rather than wasting paper. I know its only few pages but these pages will be just thrown away after the video is finished and that's just needless wastage.

4500/sqft is way to much for this house. this is 3bhk with one extra drawing room.
landscaping and design is nice but still this is very costly.
owner is cheated by architect/contractor.
I am civil engineer and doing work in residential line also we have our team of contractors. so i can say.
we can build this house under 60L.
