I've always loved this song but with the Russian invasion of Ukraine (February 2022) its been on my mind. In the past 3 days almost half a million refugees have left Ukraine, but most have been women and children. The able-bodied men (and women) of the nation are taking up arms to defend their country and those who have no chance of escaping the conflict, and this song feels appropriate for the time.
