Very cozy looking world. I miss this old feeling of Minecraft and just the general look of it. I don't have the same interest in the game as before but I wish I did.

@Not_Ambrose What bothers me most about new minecraft is smooth lighting broke slightly around 1.13. It's hard to notice but transitions between blocks is quite a bit harsher now. Before then smooth lighting was much smoother and gave more shade, specially in small areas.
I actually appreciate the mic quality given the context of the video lol. The castle style and mixing of different stone types is such a under used style now.
You could add some stone slab designs to the sides of the castle wall as well as some random mossy cobblestone and bushes with discrete lighting at the bottom
You have done an incredible job in this world. A very cozy atmosphere arises when watching this video. We are waiting for more videos in the future to further improve this minecraft world!
I love how normalised playing in older versions is now. I know it’s just a game but people are so mad now ab playing snapshots n the latest version. I still play in 1.14.4 and have a world in Beta 1.2_02!
Heck yeah man they were great times. This is the game I grew up on so it's always going to be special to me. Spent a lot of time in the beta versions back when I was 14 and they were the newest ones.

Whenever I try to start playing on the old Minecraft versions I just get so darn sad and lonely. It just reminds me of all the childhood friends I used to have but no longer know. I think last time I spoke to them was 8 or 9 years ago 😢 Also, did you end up making the server?
amazing idea to use the piston as a table! just yesterday i tried it the modern way but learned the pressure plate cant be put on fences in this version and with a half slab it looks shitty so i gave up. Also realised when looking on the web archive crafting list for this time, with ca 100 recipes in total (including items!) there is absolutely 0 variety to build with, so i looked for mc beta 173 interior design and found absolutely NOTHING but through another video i nostalgically landed on this one and VOILA great ideas, with the trunk and trapdoors and leaves as well (only had shitty versions of that), or the oven floor giving another block to build with!
If you press F or go into options and lower your view distance, while also hovering closer to the dirt platform, you should get better drops. I like to set 4 minute timers and let them fall, go pickup the items, and then redo it a couple times
I'd be interested in playing in a beta 1.7.3 world if you made one! I love these beta versions, you just don't have the rush that you do to get super OP like in the newer versions imo

My friend BoxBlair is actually starting a series where he updates his world as he goes along, starting from infdev. He is currently in version 1.7.3 and he is doing some pretty cool stuff. I would definitely recommend checking his channel out. The series is called Minecraft evolution.
For the most part spawner farms haven't really changed that much. The basic idea still applies: dig out the spawner's 9x5x9 spawn box, with an additional 2 or more blocks below for the water funnel. The one thing that has changed is the bucket,sign,bucket elevator is now slightly shorter to allow last-hitting for xp, but here you can just go the full drop instant kill for loot only, as experience doesn't exist yet. PS: Awesome looking world, I don't know what it is about beta but everything just looks so damn cozy.
It took a little while. It's not bad if you just put on a podcast or full albums and knock it out while you listen to those. I wanted to make the tunnel look nicer but that would've taken way longer. The worst part is when you dig above you and water comes down and destroys your tracks lol.

Its been a long time since i last saw a video on yt without a thumbnail, that i got confused when i clicked on and it just loaded the vid as if the first frame was the thumbnail. I miss the old youtube, so simple
There's a few different ones. I show a list in the tutorial video I uploaded recently if you want to see them all but it's mostly little stuff like a FOV slider, some ores and blocks mine faster like in the newer versions, boats don't drop sticks and stuff when they break, I can right click and swipe in the crafting menus. A lot of little stuff like that.
FYI beta spawner traps work basically the same as good modern basic ones. I think 7 blocks down from the spawner floor 3 above...? If you look up just a standard mob spawner for modern, that's basically optimal for your skeleton spawner. You can't do much better in beta and not much ever changed about them.
Hey man, try out the retromc Minecraft server. It’s on beta 1.7.3 and is mostly vanilla, but has an odd economy system that makes zombie grinders overpowered. It has an awesome community.
Thanks for the suggestion! I might but I've never been into the whole economy thing. I also am sort of paranoid about losing my data so I'd like to either be running the server or know and trust that the person running it is making proper backups.
@@JPepperL RetroMC is definitely properly backed up and it has a lot of griefing protections. The economy is oversold on the server’s website, in the actual game it isn’t very important. On Sunday (in a few hours, that is) the server owner is switching the host hardware to be better, so the server will hopefully be less laggy.

Trust me I struggle all the time to think of and execute builds lol. I've never considered myself a great builder especially compared to other people in the community. Reference images help so much though. Just looking up pictures of real life buildings and working off of them. They never turn out exactly how you imagine but you get something unique each time.

@@JPepperL forge does exist as jar mod for beta 1.7.3. But there are only very wew mods that actually use it. I know the aether for this version requires forge to be installed.

@@asterism2490 I launch it with MultiMC and got an instance from some youtuber with some basic mods and fixes then sought on some through googling to get the version to my liking.
I probably will just keep making updates to this world but maybe eventually! I've been thinking about doing a more modern SMP lets play with a friend soon though.
There are still a lot of good ways to install mods. There's a tutorial on my channel that shows you how to install the mods I use and I'm sure you could use that as a jumping off point to install some more.
Man I actually followed one somewhere on youtube but I can't remember what video. The basics of it though were to make four grass platforms with water channels leading to a hole in the middle. Then I put lava blades lower down to kill the mobs coming down. Also built in an ocean so there were no other spawn areas around and the ones that were, I put half slabs over top of to block spawns.

what i like about beta 1.7.3 was how dim a torch was. It doesn't light up a whole room but it's not a weak light either. Very sweet

I think old pocket got to around beta 1.3-1.7 features sometime in the early 0.1s except inf worlds and it rapidly got to 1.0 and beyond then

You could try using a minecart or a boat on a slab for a sink. Or a slab with signs around it maybe

Yeah cauldrons weren't added yet unfortunately because that's what I usually did in the newer versions too lol

There are still a lot of good ways to install mods. There's a tutorial on my channel that shows you how to install the mods I use and I'm sure you could use that as a jumping off point to install some more.

Man I actually followed one somewhere on youtube but I can't remember what video. The basics of it though were to make four grass platforms with water channels leading to a hole in the middle. Then I put lava blades lower down to kill the mobs coming down. Also built in an ocean so there were no other spawn areas around and the ones that were, I put half slabs over top of to block spawns.

Back when I first played beta I was watching in 360p or lower. 480p was too much for my internet to handle lol.
