Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 - World Tour

Hello! This is my first video on this channel. For my first video, I wanted to show off my beta 1.7.3 world so far. I did not expect it to take over 25 minutes but I did do my best to speed up some of the slower parts.
This world was started on October 7, 2023. I switched to Betacraft on October 16th, 2023 (not quite 3 months like i thought haha). It is a fully vanilla, no cheating, no world viewing, singleplayer survival world.
Very cool to see someone playing an older version for longer than 5 minutes and actually building something! Beta 1.7.3 is the version I have the most fond memories of, as it was the one I played a lot during the summer of 2011. I remember eagerly awaiting update beta 1.8, but after some time I found it a bit lacking- beta 1.7.3 had better, more whacky world generation and, something I don't see many people mention, more ,,cold" lighting instead of this ,,warm" yellow tint of beta 1.8 and later versions. Made things more clean and stylish for me.
There's actually so many dudes playing "longer than 5 minutes" out there, posting world updates after beta has had a few waves of popularity in recent times. I've seen a guy with first world update being at 250 hour mark, and since then he posted many more in two years

Its hard to beat the old aesthetic. I have a copy of our old SMP world from Sepr 2011. Its interesting since 100s of players joined, but by the time 1.6 came out, the playerbase had dwindled quite a bit. So there's hardly any tall grass anywhere and definitely only a handful of pistons around. I'll have to do another tour of that server world someday. If I ever finish my "10 year anniversary" series then it will definitely be showcased.

i'm making my own base in b1.7.3
i like the idea of a built-into-a-mountain base "as you do" (i did just to survive the night coz i couldn't find sheep)
and maybe, in the near future (a month-ish) i might make my own tour video
I'm playing a world where everytime I have a build I'm happy with I upgrade 1 version. Starting 1.7.3 beta. I'm in 1.0 release right now (I skip any versions that would result in my game bring broken, and generating strongholds in 1.8 beta is a bad idea cus it means you won't get portals). Upgrading turned my entire world into a snow biome. So trying to embrace it
I'm vanilla though. So no betacraft launcher for me. No day counter, old F3 menu and I think no statistics either
That's cool, another person who plays the old version like me, in my case I'm playing the pocket edition 0.14.3 version, I'm not enjoying and having fun with the myths in the current versions, as I got a lot of nostalgia in 2020, I decided to make one survival, I still play on it today, I'm planning to copy the minecraft xbox 360 tutorial on my map,
The best part is that besides weighing only 22mb, you can play with friends next to each other even without internet, just turn on the router, even if the connected cell phone warns you that it's not working, your friend's world appears smoothly. Old versions have a magic and essence that current ones will never have.

Cant be saying mining Redstone taking a long time is part of the struggle and at the same time building a duplicator to save time collecting it yourself. Logic.
