    Damn dude, your using an angle grinder without a disk shroud never mind having one correctly adjusted. You then used it so the sparks where flying into your face and then you used a cutting disk as a grinder.... I don't work for OSHA/HSE but damn dude.

    Thanks for this very good and informative video. A couple of things I did different, 1) Instead of cutting in half, I cut my cooking grate with one side about 9", still fits in for storage, but goes right up to charcoal box/loaf pan. It gives more indirect grilling surface without covering the charcoal box, in case you need to add charcoal/wood. 2) If you turn bottom grate over, the charcoal box sits lower and cooking grate sits in flange better for direct grilling. Otherwise, I did everything the same. Ron

    Nice idea. Can we get a wee update on what you put in as essentials after 2yr experience. Highly appreciated !

    Are you still pretty happy with the charcoal firebox? I’ve looked at several different pans on Amazon and went with the same one you purchased. Am awaiting its arrival and was wondering if you would have done anything differently?

    Nice how to on the grill mods- not so much on "safe use of an angle grinder". It's a great grill- but even with the mods- how is it as a smoker?

    I can see where rubber grip stuff would come in handy to keep that stuff from rattling around during travel. Would be nice to see some of your cooking videos when out camping. Some great ideas you have. Like to see it in use, especially cooling down cleaning out grill charcoal , and drip pan. Putting it back in van..

    Genius idea with the trivet on the fuel grate to increase cooking height space for larger cooks like lamb legs. Thx.

  • @georgecurtis6463

    I see you and others putting the starter in the grill. Sometimes struggling with the handle. Why not just take the rivets off that hold the handle on and just use some ss hardware to hold it together when needed. If I was packing this way, that is what I would do.

    • @offgridyo9194
      @offgridyo9194  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      After enough times packing it I seemed to have "cracked the code" with no struggle. I usually roll the gloves up inside the chimney. Others I have seen put a plastic bag with coals inside. Personally I like to be able to check on any consumables outside the kit. The cool things is everyone seems to be able to put their own spin on this. Thanks for tuning in!

    • @offgridyo9194

      Look for something called a "step drill bit". It's a single bit with steps in it specifically for making larger holes in sheet metal. amzn.to/3L1Z212
