    Hi mate, great videos!! how would you do short rib on the GA with out those additional accessories? Cheers 🍻

    • @LownSlowBasics
      @LownSlowBasics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d cut into single ribs and just offset ur charcoal to 1 side. Few hours of smoke, wrap in the oven to finish

    how come the briquettes only lit on the right side of the grill? you placed the lit briquettes in the middle of the grill but it seemed to only carry towards the right side?? am i missing something?

    • @LownSlowBasics

      Probably the way the wind was going. They eventually would burn completely through.

    Thats awesome.Is there any advantage soaking the wood first ? where did you get that sword from ?

    • @LownSlowBasics
      @LownSlowBasics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely don’t soak wood or you’ll smother your fire. It’s the Dalstrong brand 😀 dalstrong.com

  • @dazz075

    • @LownSlowBasics

      I thought the same but it was just a slither of wood lol

  • @2011bluj
    @2011bluj 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So question..cause I’d probably try it this following way..could you do an indirect heat without the riser and such? Like you just have a set up to the side and use the cooler side of the grill to have your meat? Like if you aren’t quite able to purchase the extra accessories? (Cause I wanna try this out but if you say naw it’ll destroy that meat that costs some moola I’ll just wait to invest in the accessories lol)

    • @chris-tq5ly
      @chris-tq5ly 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve done it slightly differently and cut the ribs into singles. Fill one third with Kingsford blue brickets and put one fire lighter in far corner. One vent all the way down and one halfway. Put ribs in opposite side and too vent open above. :)

    Hey mate, love the ideas in your videos. I recently bought the matador radiant MOVE, seems like a better build quality than the GA but I’m interested in the riser you have in this video. Do you know if this riser will fit the MOVE or do you know of other accessories that fit this unit. Cheers mate, love your work.

    Love it!! Once you did the pork ribs the other week on the ga I had to get the riser abs heat deflector. Can’t wait to see what other low and slow you do with the ga. How long do you think that minion method would last?

      @@LownSlowBasics that’s very decent. Trying to work out the best way to set up coals for a little brisket. I want to do a little packer brisket on the ga for a bit of fun

    Love my shorties, question though. if meat science says to rest meat to reattribute the juices, why are shorties any different? Love ya channel mate!

    • @LownSlowBasics
      @LownSlowBasics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They aren’t any different, just more forgiving as there’s so much intramuscular fat in there.

    Very nice work on the ribs. All the accessories kind kill the "go anywhere" factor of the BBQ though.

  • @evltwin984

    So not just a go anywhere, but every accessory available. Better off just using the "stand" underneath that contraption. Probly cheaper too
