Eddie, cool to have you up here👍 Always good to have mountains that sweep down to the sea - in County Down or County Kerry. The Mournes were looking well for your visit☀ and the cloud coming in below an over the summits was cool. Slieve Donard is a busy one most of the time. Good choice on continuing to the Hare's Gap and returning by the Brandy Pad and getting those mighty views over Ben Crom Reservoir in person👍 That water from the blue pipe is some of the coolest and best tasting anywhere. I think the horses are part of the plan to reduce the pressure of sheep grazing (which don't leave much of anything behind).Well done on completing the Provincial High Points👍
thanks Gerry, it was a right enjoyable weekend for my first time up in that neck of the woods. I think I was haunted with the weather as I met a few people who were saying it's been rough summer above , like much of the rest of the country I suppose. Have to say that pipe was a welcome sight, I got all excited after seeing it on TH-cam... It's fantastic once you know it's there and can work around it. I think it'll take more than a few horses, but you know, it was a nice change to see them, every little bit helps I suppose. 👍
Eddie!!!! That was just brilliant. Im so pleased you had such a great day up here. The Mournes are a special place and im so chuffed you had such a brilliant experience. You looked so happy there. I loved it. Your photos too are amazing. Great shots. Now! There's more to see and explore so don't forget to come back again soon. Thanks also for the shout out and the link, thats so kind.
Thanks very much Alyn, it was great to finally get to see all these peaks I hear you talking about. I went back watching some of your vids again and now I know where you were pointing to and talking about, for the most part. I’ve a lot more exploring to do there and I’m already looking forward to returning… whenever it will be. Thanks Alyn and no problem, the least I could do for all the effort you put in up around there, 👍
Thanks Darren, wasn’t sure when I was gonna complete it, but delighted I went up. It was getting very interesting towards the end of the day with sunset arriving and the layers in the hills, but I was too wrecked at that stage to hang around, hopefully another time. 👍👍
Great to see and hear your awe of the Mournes Eddie! Such a great mountain range that packs in a lot 🤗 Well done for your big hike!! Hope you slept well afterwards!
Haha, I slept well for two days afterwards tbh. It was great to see them after watching Gerrys and Alyns videos for so long. If only they just weren’t so very far away 😁
HI Pia, I’m the same as yourself and read up on the wall , more when I came home than before I headed up. Seeing it snake over all the hills was really quiet something else.😎
It was a great day Robert. Despite my videos being all outdoor I’m not the fittest, something I’ve always struggled with since I gave up sports all those years ago, but we’ll keep heading out anyway as it’s always great to get out in the hills. 👍
Thanks Brendan , it was a cracking day alright. For my first time in The North it was a fantastic weekend. 😉 think my knees will have a different opinion after today. More to follow later in the week. 👍
It was lovely to meet ye also, hope ye enjoyed the walk down, it was some day for it. Should have the video for Mweelrea up later in the week where I’ll be presenting a very factual report about how I was not wrecked when I met ye 😉 🤣
Hi Eddie , enjoyed watching your video. You did a lovely loop in the Mourne Mts. Enjoyed all the info you gave in the video. Nice to have met you on the day and yes I made it down without falling over any cliff. Installed the app you told me about and will use it when I head over to Mweelrea. Safe driving in your van, will keep an eye out for future videos, Gerry Baxter.
Thanks very much Gerry, it was great to meet yourself, we’d a great chat between the two peaks. Glad your route down worked out ok, it must have been all the planning 😉. You’ll be sorted with that app now, I have to say I do enjoy it, especially with the East West maps and all the detail. We might meet on the hills again in the future. Take care, Ed 👍
Eddie, just watched this as it came into my feed - great video, really enjoyed your fresh look at the Mournes. Have walked every inch you walked and know how tough it is, really tough. Glad you got sone great views and met plenty of people. Donard is always very popular, but the further you get from it the less people you will see. No easy peaks in the Mournes!! Regards, Ashley
thanks very much Ashley, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day. I just see you did the 7 7's, congrats on that, that's a fairly daunting hike to do, but well done. I have to say watching the video its great to have been on at least two of the peaks and to have seen a few of the others. 👍
@@eddieforde Eddie, it was as tough as it gets, thanks to James I made it round but only just. From now on I'm going to stick to 1 or 2 peaks at a time. The Mournes is tough hiking as the paths, in my opinion, are not great, except for Donard, but the rewards are great. Binnian and Bearnagh are superb mountains and the summit views are incredible. Will check your channel out too, I'm sure I'll learn lots!! Regards, Ashley

Thanks Keith, it was some day alright, and the cloud down nearly on the ground the following day. So really delighted to have got it. 👍
So beautiful up there too. Just looked up the Mourne wall. It took over 20 years to build it.Never been to the north of Ireland. 😊
