I just got my softail standard this summer as my first bike and I love it, just what I needed not too small not too big it's just right and a ride that will last me for years to come
Same. When I look at all the old rider footage, it’s mainly FX and softail big twins, very small amount of baggers. I get that six speeds and a fairing will get you places farther and faster but for around town or a region it’s perfect for that.
@@KennyQuestShow no problem, I watched a number of reviews and yours is the best. So many others just go over the same boring stats off harley's website . Cheers!
Love that grey color. I know the wire wheels are the wheels every one likes, but I prefer the cast wheels in the new bikes. I don't think I'd buy the screaming eagle kit. Why waste all that money and not get much of a boost in power. But damn, it's a nice bike. Great review man. Thanks!
I bought a brand new on for 16k in 2023. I absolutely love this thing. Will never get rid of it. Maddie be after market and very easy to work on and do the install on most everything. Highly highly recommend. I went for more of a dynay look. Get compliments all the time by other riders. Can’t say enough good things.

The Softail is the best bike to start with if you are into customization. Great bike to start out with. Bare bones stock then stage 1, or 2. Next ape-hangers, and led mini bullets, change out the forward controls for something flashy and cool looking. Get that new slim line seat to lower your butt even more. After a year or so you either invest in a decent tuner, or bump up the engine a few cc's. Windshield is optional, depends on where, or how far you are riding. Sissy bar so the old lady wont fall off on the way home from the bar. Then one morning you come out, look at your bike and start adding, or subtracting all over again. I started with a 2nd hand 2002 Softail Standard with the 88" twin cam. Still in my herd but has changed appearance several times and close to 100K on original lower end.
It totally looked better when it came with spoked wheels in my opinion. Def would have bought this bike if it came with a 5 gal tank, opted for a Slim instead
And I agree with your choice, the Slim, when it was in the line satisfied those wanting that classic WL era look without all the extras that came on the deluxe and heritage offerings. Thanks for commenting.
The Softail has been my dream bike since I first saw one in the 90s show Renegade which was what got me into bikes. Someday I'll be able to afford one, for now I'm enjoying an 06 Kawasaki VN800 which has a whole lot of analog feeling 💪❤️ Great review man💪
Awe, you just hit a memory. I remember watching Lorenzo Lamas on his Harley thinking one day man, one day. I ride a 1996 softail, rigid mounted engine and I love it. But I do appreciate the six speed gear box and much smoother ride of today’s softail. Thanks for watching!
