girl at my barn was riding the pony that i have been training.. and the pony does have a bucking problem. This girl has the best seat ever and sat all of the bucks when the pony decided to bolt. She ran into a jump standard and the girls helmet came off and she fell. The pony stepped on her face. She now can’t go near horses for the next 6 months.. take this as a reminder to tighten your helmet straps and if you have fallen on your head recently to replace your helmet ❤️❤️ The pony happens to be the chestnut pony in the clip of the girl riding in a big red hoodie over jumping poles (not me, but a lesson student who the pony happens to love)

0:45 it was apparent that her horse was acting up. Don’t try and make a horse go over a jump when something like that is obviously going to happen. I mean, I don’t know the whole story but she should have at least made a circle and approached it properly. From the clip it looked like she was never planning to jump and then the horse started acting up and she blindly tried to make him jump. I could’ve told you that would happen
So many of these horses are poorly trained with riders that make bad decisions. Like, the horse is supposed to be broke. You wouldn't be trying to jump on a horse that isn't. Why are you still bucking when you've had enough training to start jumping? My 2 year old gelding doesn't even buck. Never has. Saddled or bareback, halter or bridle, you hop on and it's just smooth sailing. Even today when I had some horses and cows mixing when they weren't supposed to, I just grabbed a pair of reins and a halter, put them on the first horse I caught, got on, and just went to sorting. The gelding was not pleased about the surprise ride, but the worst he gave me was a stop that wasn't perfect. My point? This barely broke horse went weeks without being ridden, and I hopped on him bareback with a halter in an ice storm and didn't have an issue. Who rides a horse bareback if it's a known bronc? Who puts an inexperienced person on a horse that doesn't consistently do the thing they're trying to learn? Who puts a kid on a horse that won't even go straight towards a jump because it's so sour? I don't understand the logic behind some of those choices. As much as I love my mare and as super broke as she is, I wouldn't put a kid on her because she can and will go fast when asked, and she accelerates way faster than she looks like she can. If I had gotten on her when I was little, I would have been dumped the second I asked her to go because her job is to be fast. Learning is a key part of riding, but you shouldn't have to constantly eat dirt to learn.
if most of the riders just knew how to sit a buck it would make things so much better for the horses in training. but every body here is leaning forward 💀💀 i’m the owner of the chestnut pony who jumped the canter pole..
@@mel-ot9dq oof. I agree, it's hard to teach a horse not to buck if bucking is what works. I have the mom and dad to my 2 year old gelding here. His mom is super nice and was broke when we got her, but his dad was born here and I was the one that started him. This brat is 16.1 hands tall and can occasionally be a little jerky, but thanks to him, I can sit a decent buck bareback. The payoff is that the dad has the smoothest lope ever and would make a gorgeous hunter if I ever get my jumps built.

People fall because refusing a jump and constantly kicking isn’t the case or whipping to handle is to take the reins don’t pull softly control your horse

4:17 okay the footing is waay to wet, which is really dangerous for some horses with shoes since the footing might get stuck and they could trip over.
