it’s true that this is a rather loud perfume, in a way very different from how coco, which is strong, is actually more sophisticated & hence quiet. la mademoiselle is young and exhuberant, which is perhaps another reason i like to leave that period of mine as a fantastic memory. it’s such an eventful scent that it’s hard to wear it again. not to mention in 2001 i worked in my own office which meant strong scents were never going to be an issue since there were no long suffering colleagues to consider. i miss those days, when walking into an office immediately gave you a sense of the person occupying the space. all of us had our own office, the only open space was the atrium we all faced !

Well I’m so glad I found your channel. When I first received this as a thank you gift from my other half I was overwhelmed, a 100ml bottle of Coco Mademoiselle Wow. It taken me a few days then realized it was a nighttime fragrance? Oh, I knew it wasn’t staying on my body or even my clothes for any length of time at all. I thought just another part of my menopausal body that was unaccepting of one of my favorite scents. Thank you for now explaining that it’s actually a bedtime fragrance, so I now realize that spraying myself from head to toe in CM didn’t even last an hour. Definitely not a strong scent but beggars can’t be choosers so I will freely spray my 100ml of weakened CM until I need another but divert my OH back to my other favorite CC Eau De Perfume that’ll stay with me for at least 8 hours of the day 😊 he’s still a keeper though 😁
I *always* wear perfume to bed. If I forget, I'll get up to spray some on! No preference, just whatever feels right -- though No. 5 is on my nightstand. ;)

Almost every normal person would shake their heads about the fact that real Parfumos and Parfumas also wear perfumes at night. And I own a little good night collection of calming fragrances that I tend to wear after a long shower in the evening on a stressfull working day and also before I go to sleep. Not the biggest fan of Coco Mademoiselle, but I think it's a great fragrance for Chanel beginners and it fits wonderfully on a rainy autumn day. But less woods and more muscs sounds interesting and worth testing.
Yes for perfumes to bed, when the mood strikes! No need to mellow the perfume, just spritz in the air and walk through or similar to get a softer effect....

Decidedly one of those people who does not get the hype about Coco Mademoiselle. It's a mainstream scent that's been pushed through sheer power of marketing, boring, and borderline offensive. Sorry do not mean to offend anyone, perfume is personal, I get it!! Chanel has many wins, Coco Mademoiselle is not one of them.

I bought a 200ml Coco Mademoiselle a couple of years ago as my mum always wears it and it's amazing on her. Fragrance being genderless in my eyes (and me finding 99.999999% of "men's" fragrances to be absolutely dull as dishwater) most of my collection is typically women's perfume. These days as my tastes have matured, I'm finding Mademoiselle a little.... "2010's ladies going on a night out" vibe, which isn't really appealing to me. I'm wondering: do you have any powdery fragrance suggestions? I ADORE the dry down of Chanel No. 5 but the sparkly aldehydes among top notes really spoil it for me, and actually just bought Chloe EDP today! I can enjoy Gabrielle essence, and own a few Louis Vuitton fragrances so price isn't necessarily an issue if you have any stellar suggestions! We recently bathed my dog and his shampoo smells like talcum powder, and being a more gentle sensitive man, those sort of scents really appeal to me. My Chanel beauty boutique re-opens on the tenth of August in Belfast so I'll be able to re-try the Exclusifs! Hopefully I'll find one for me, Beige being my favourite colour I'm hoping I'll like the perfume version, though I have heard many people say it smells exactly like Jo Malone Mimosa and Cardamom... I don’t think there is a need for it as wen I used to wear Coco, I used to have soap and body lotion so after shower or bath in evening it would linger on your skin from them, like light delicate version. I have so meany fond memories of Coco Modmosele, all thru my teens and twenties that was the only perfume I used. Now however I am not drawn to it as mush as I used to be, feel like I have grown out of it and looking for something new, something that would take my breath away the same way Coco did and can’t find anything, the amount of perfume I have bought trying to find the one is ridiculous. 😭

Well, no, I’m not the biggest fan of Coco Mad, but I think it does what it does extremely well. And as an attempt to bring the Angel ‘vibe’ into the more rarefied Chanel atmosphere, it’s successful. Mind you, I’d rather people wore this than some of the other ‘young’ scents pushed onto the market. Thanks for taking the time to write.
