Porter Cable Air Compressor - fix it for less then 1 dollar

Mongo come across a Porter Cable air compressor and when you turn switch on, it does nothing!
Air compressors very simple machines, instead of throwing it out or taking it to a specialist, DIY!
This one have 5 T20 torques bits around the case halves holding it together. 2 Phillips screws used as stoppers to keep the assembly from sliding. Disconnect the small hose and slide the assembly off. Main hose still connected so it only lifts off so far. but far enough to remove the case halves. One side have the main switch and a pressure switch, might have to disconnect those.
This one the black wire (line 1) was rubbing on the motor fan shaft, wore it down to nothing. That's why the machine not working. Mongo cut the wire were it broken and notice the ends of the wires are burned and damaged. Cut back to clean copper on each side. then strip a bit of the wire insulation. Mongo install a butt connector in between and crimp it tight. When reassembling be sure to make sure the wires are routed in a way that they will not contact and moving parts. Otherwise this might happen again.

Seems like it's always either a wire or the capacitor that goes out on these things. Still both cheap and easy though.
