    Such great advice! Going into any interview process you always think or believe that answers and such have to be professional and not personal. You very helpful advice gives us "permission" and the reasoning makes total sense. I believe you can't be the professional leader you are with out your personal trials, tribulations, and success. Interview for TOSA Middle School AP tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

      @@gordonamerson28 it went very fast! 20 minutes so not sure that is a great sign. It’s my first interview so I am trying to give myself grace, keep in mind it is an learning experience, and hope for the best. I should hear by the end of the week if I make it to the 2nd round. I do greatly appreciate your videos and the knowledge and advice you provide.

    Excellent advice!! I have already begun to send out my resume for assistant principal positions for the 24-25 school year. I will be using this in my interviews.

    I tried it and I felt great but lost the final round to a former principal. I have another interview on Thursday

      Glad that you felt great about how you did! I will say this…if the final came down to you and a former principal, you are in a good position for the next opportunity. Best of luck on Thursday. Got my fingers crossed for you.

    Dr amerson, how do I leverage my ability to build relationships with students and staff in an interview? I feel like some people roll their eyes when they hear that because it’s a little bit of a cliche, but I truly feel like that is one of my strongest suits.

    • @gordonamerson28
      @gordonamerson28  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      My honest opinion is that you lean into your ability to develop rapport and relationships. If you are with an interview panel that doesn’t value that…it is likely an organization you wouldn’t want to work in. Our natural gifts and talents are what we need to invest more time and energy into. If that’s relationship building for you…show and do more of that!! 😊
