    Thank you for your advice! I did well in my interview! But now they told me there will be a Round 2 (if I made it). Do you have any videos that specifically target Round 2 of an AP job interview? What should I expect in Round 2 because it feels like they have asked everything in the first interview. THANK YOU!!

      I don’t have videos about 2nd level interviews specifically but you just sparked an idea in my mind to make one…so thank you! 🙏🏾 I’m going to start working on it.
      In the meantime, when I do multiple level interviews, I focus on technical leadership skills in the first level interview. There is a focus on scenarios that draw on your experience, knowledge, and capacity to do the job. In the second level interview there are two strategies I’ve used…it could be a much more specific set of questions that are specifically tailored to the school site right now and looking for how you would hit the ground running with relevant topics and issues. The other scenario could be a “fit” interview. A series of more informal questions that are searching to see if you are a good fit with the principal, the leadership team, etc. not sure which style they will use but hopeful this is a bit helpful.

      @@gordonamerson28 Thank you for pointing the right direction! You are absolutely right. They did ask me technical questions in the interview, with two scenario questions. I was worried that I didn't get the chance to show them who I am as a person. Guess I will be able to do that during Round 2. Thanks again!

      My pleasure!
      These nuggets are what helped me below:
      1. Being able to build off of my own experiences as a classroom teacher and school designee.
      2. The starter direction at the beginning of an interview helped me to relax and answer the first question naturally.
      3. I found that telling an experienced story is key.
      4. Knowing my philosophy as an educator and as a leader , which were derived from my personal beliefs of putting others first.
      5. Confidently being able to answer all five questions helped prepare me, which were actual questions asked.
      Thanks again!

    I always have a problem of the first questions, I have a problem in giving examples

    • @gordonamerson28
      @gordonamerson28  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Make a list of key examples in different areas of education that become your anchors. Then you don’t have to think of one. You would have memorized your key examples and then you just pull the right one in at the moment you need to use it in the interview.

    Dr. Amerson, will you ever do a video on how to tackle multi-part questions? In my first interview, I was a little overwhelmed by how often these were thrown out to me.
